    This article examines Słowacki’s preoccupation with eroticism in some of his works and in his correspondence. The first part focuses on his poem ‘In Switzerland’ in which the relationship between the characters is shrouded in ambiguity and the sexual theme is treated in an elliptical manner. Beatrix Cenci, a Romantic drama showing the fi lthy, predatory aspects of sexuality and eroticism, is analysed in the second part of the article. It is followed by a discussion of Słowacki’s correspondence with Leonard Niedźwiecki, conducted in French. The article examines the ways in which the choice of the French language appears to have infl uenced the poet’s articulation of his intimate experiences and desires.

    Opis:
    W artykule podjęto próbę zdefiniowania pojęcia „geopoetyka”. W celu określenia i uporządkowania znaczeń związanych z geopoetyką wykorzystano przykłady z literatury ukraińskiej, rosyjskiej, polskiej, amerykańskiej i kanadyjskiej, jak też stosowano kilka wybranych relacji: geopoetyka – ekologia, ekokrytyka, geopoetyka – geopolityka, geopoetyka – regionalizm. Wyodrębniono sześć podstawowych znaczeń geopoetyki: (1) „studium związków intelektualnych i zmysłowych pomiędzy człowiekiem a Ziemią, pierwotna geopoetyka Kennetha White’a; (2) rozwijający się ruch intelektualny, artystyczno-literacki, kulturowy o wymiarze międzynarodowym (Francja, Szkocja, Belgia, Niemcy, Szwajcaria, Włochy, Kanada, Rosja, Ukraiński Krym, Serbia), zapoczątkowany przez szkockiego poetę, nauczyciela akademickiego i myśliciela Kennetha White’a we Francji w 1989 r.; (3) pewien sposób postrzegania świata i tworzenia dzieła sztuki (właściwa poetyka, warsztat, zespół środków ideowo-tematycznych podporządkowanych poetyce ziemi); (4) dzieła powstające w wyniku stosowania takiej praktyki (geopoezja, która nie zawsze jest tożsama z poezją geograficzną/geologiczną, czyli dziełami literackimi tworzonymi przez geologów, geofizyków etc. tematycznie ujawniających przedmiot ich zainteresowań profesjonalnych); (5) podejście badawcze, praktyka interpretacyjna, krytyczna (właściwie geokrytyka, m.in. w koncepcjach Bertranda Westphala, Roberta T. Tally’ego); (6) działalność dydaktyczna. Komplikują identyfikację geopoetyki zarówno jej wielowymiarowy status ontologiczny, jak jej interdyscyplinarny charakter, skłonność do zmian, hybrydowość i otwartość na obszary badań i obszary kultury związane z ich wspólnym przedmiotem zainteresowania (ziemia). Mimo to da się zauważyć, jak różni się ona od nich odmiennością punktów widzenia, kierunków zadawania pytań i akcentów w udzielaniu odpowiedzi.
    The meanings of geopoetry were considered in its relation with: ecology and ecocriticism, geopolitics, regional literature, urbanism, space semantic studies, globetrotterism, with the help of exemplification of the selected fragments from Ukrainian, Russian, Polish and Canadian literature, as well as references to American literature. Six basic meanings of geopoetry were distinguished: (1) the original White’s geopoetics as study of Man-Earth relation; (2) the international intellectual and artistic literary movement (France, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Russia, Ukrainian Crimea, Serbia), which was initiated by Kenneth White in France in 1989; (3) a certain way of perception of the world and artistic creation (artistic technique, designed for the poetry of the earth and understanding of one’s land); (4) works of literary art which were created with the help of such technique (geopoetry, which is not at all times identical with geographical/geological poetry – wider – with literary works created by geologists, geophysicists, etc. who disclose their professional subject – the earth (geo) on the thematic level of their literary works). (3) and (4), taken together, perform also the implementation of  White’s ideas; (5) geocriticism, a method of literary analysis and interpretation (in Bertrand Westphal’s and Robert T. Tally’s meaning, which is the creative continuation of White’s conception); (6) teaching activity.

    This article discusses issues related to ankyloglossia. The author points to a different approach between different scientific disciplines concerning shortened frenulum. When examining the various classifications of the ankyloglossia, the author pays special attention to the symptoms of the disturbances in the function of the oral cavity and the coexisting articulating abnormalities.

    Opis:
    Surface arthroplasty, also referred to as resurfacing, is a method of sparing hip arthroplasty, which is a surgical alternative usually reserved for younger, active patients. The introduction of successive generations of implants with metal-on-metal articulation resulted in increased interest in this method of treatment. Despite the unquestionable advantages and promising initial results, resurfacing has some limitations and disadvantages. One of them is the increase in the concentration of metal ions. Although they are necessary for the proper functioning of the human body, in large amounts they can lead to serious reactions of the soft tissues adjacent to the prosthesis, including metallosis, ALVAL (Aseptic Lyphocytic Vasculitis-Associated Lesion), or the formation of pseudotumours. Despite numerous studies and scientific reports, there is a need for further work on the relationship between the concentration levels of metal ions in people after resurfacing and the biological, causal mechanisms of the development of adverse reactions in the body.
    Endoprotezoplastyka powierzchniowa, zwana kapoplastyką jest metodą oszczędnej endoprotezoplastyki stawu biodrowego, która stanowi alternatywę chirurgiczną zarezerwowaną zwykle dla młodszych, aktywnych pacjentów. Wprowadzanie kolejnych generacji implantów o artykulacji metal-metal spowodowało wzrost zainteresowania tą metodą leczenia. Pomimo niekwestionowanych zalet i obiecujących wyników początkowych, kapoplastyka obarczona jest jednak pewnymi ograniczeniami i wadami. Jedną z nich jest wzrost stężenia jonów metali, które choć niezbędne do prawidłowego funkcjonowania organizmu ludzkiego, w dużych ilościach mogą prowadzić do poważnych reakcji tkanek miękkich przylegających do protezy, w tym do metalozy, ALVAL (Aseptic Lyphocytic Vasculitis-Associated Lesion) czy tworzenia guzów rzekomych. Pomimo licznych badań i doniesień naukowych istnieje potrzeba dalszych prac nad związkiem między poziomami stężeń jonów metali u osób po kapoplastyce, a biologicznymi, przyczynowymi mechanizmami rozwoju niekorzystnych reakcji w organizmie.

    Phonetic Etudes – in the Border Area of the Linguistic Research, nevertheless for Exceeding of own Language Boundaries In the following article an attempt is made to use the etude as an exercise form by the pronunciation training, therefore to justify the introduction of phonetic etudes to the didactics of the phonetics, they have the potential to be useful und effective after all. The ‚etude‘ was originally thought as an instrumental musical composition, usually short concentrating on a technical problem, which often repeats and appears in sequences, designed to provide practice material for perfecting particular skills by playing musical instruments. However using etudes to exercise is recently not confined to the area of music,but it is expanded on the other fields of artistic creation, for example in the dramatic art as scenic etudes, in the painting as painted etudes or artistic etudes, in the cinematicart as film etudes or even in the literature as literary etudes.
    Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird ein Versuch gewagt, die Übungsform ‚Etüde‘, welche ursprünglich als musikalisches Übungsstück gedacht wurde, im Bereich der Ausspracheschulung zu legitimieren, mithin die Einführung vom Konzept phonetischer Etüden bei der Didaktik der Phonetik zu begründen, und zwar am Beispiel des Deutschen. Etüde wird im Großen und Ganzen als ein Instrumentalwerk für ein Soloinstrument definiert, das dem Musizierenden zu größeren Fertigkeiten auf seinem Instrument verhelfen soll. Im Mittelpunkt steht ein kurzes spieltechnisches Problem, das häufig wiederholt und in Sequenzen auftritt. Neulich wird allerdings die betreffende Übungsform nicht nur auf den Bereich der Musik eingeschränkt, sondern auf andere Bereiche menschlichen künstlerischen Handelns ausgeweitet. Außer dem Instrumentspielen werden nämlich in Form von Etüden auch andere Fertigkeiten weiterentwickelt und perfektioniert wie z. B. Schauspielkunst in szenischen Etüden, Malkunst in Maletüden, Filmkunst in Filmetüden oder literarischer Stil in literarischen Etüden. Der vorliegende Beitrag versteht sich folglich als Plädoyer für das Konzept phonetischer Etüden und für ihren Einsatz bei der Ausspracheschulung, vor allem aber beim phonetischen Selbsttraining.
