Usage of the economic analysis in the study of the performance of health care system does not surprise anyone nowadays. Trends that are drawn over the years fluctuate from the technology assessment of health programs - in terms of efficiency, costs or utility for patients, through methods to establishing copayment for health services and the demand for medical services. Much of the interest is devoted to analysis of the shape of the health care system: the amount of contributions to the National Health Fund, the managing the system, both at the micro and macro level, or restructuring. Any method that allows to show dependencies, identify weaknesses/strengths of the health care system is appreciated by health policy makers. The aim of this article is an attempt of the use of models of input-output type in the analysis of the performance of the health care sector in Poland. The construction of input-output model is based on the observed data for the specified, variously defined area - it may concern: country, region, municipality, etc., hence with the appropriate designed database, it may be possible to examine the flow of health benefits - for example, expressed in zlotys. Part of the article is dedicated to theoretical aspects of the input-output models and the problems this usage can cause.

Current preaching activity of Priest B. Maryańskiego a rich catalog of practical-pastoral guidance, coming from him, and then delivered in published collections of sermons. A major initiative, which was driven by Priest B. Maryańskiemu was education in the Catholic spirit of the people and nation, shaping and developing citizenship in them. Words were primarily directed to the simple people that saw their faults, sins, and quickly repented from them. The content of all three sets of issues of sermons is concerned with key problems of faith, custom, education end national tradition.

Tło rozważań: Przedmiotem rozważań w artykule jest zagadnienie rozwoju przedsiębiorczości społecznej. Składa się ono z dwóch zakresowo nieostrych i treściowo wieloznacznych terminów. Z jednej strony przedsiębiorczość społeczna jest młodą, wymagającą poznania dziedziną badań, która wzbudza międzynarodowe zainteresowanie różnych środowisk od końca XX wieku. Z drugiej zaś strony, rozwój jest kategorią zakorzenioną w tradycji badań społecznych oraz debacie publicznej. Cele: Celem artykułu jest systematyzacja wiedzy na temat znaczenia obu wskazanych powyżej pojęć oraz przedstawienie wybranych sposobów analizy zagadnienia opisanego jako rozwój przedsiębiorczości społecznej. Metody: Do realizacji celu wykorzystano metodę analizy i syntezy literatury przedmiotu. Wyniki: W świetle przeglądu literatury analiza rozwoju przedsiębiorczości społecznej może dotyczyć przedmiotu, uwarunkowań, procesu i wyników. Konkluzje: Podjęte dotychczas w Polsce prace badawcze świadczą o wzroście zainteresowania i uznania dla niniejszego zagadnienia. Jednocześnie nasuwa się wniosek o konieczności rozwijania w kraju, we wskazanych obszarach, prac o charakterze empirycznym i teoretycznym z wykorzystaniem dorobku nauk ekonomicznych, społecznych i prawnych.
Background: The subject of discussion in the article is the issue of the development of social entrepreneurship. It consists of two range-of-focus in terms of content and ambiguous terms. On the one hand, social entrepreneurship is a young, growing area of research that arouse international interest in various circles of the late twentieth century. On the other hand, development is a category rooted in the tradition of social research and public debate. Objectives: The aim of this article is to systematize the knowledge about the importance of both the above-mentioned concepts and presentation of selected methods of analysis of the issues described as the development of social entrepreneurship. Methods: The critical analysis of literature devoted to the study of social entrepreneurship and development. Results: In the light of the literature analysis of the development of social entrepreneurship may relate to the subject, conditions, process and results. Conclusions: Research taken so far in the country shows an increase of interest in and appreciation of this issue. At the same time, the obvious conclusion about the need to develop in Poland, in the indicated areas of work of the empirical and theoretical achievements with the use of economic, social and legal science.

Paper is devoted to the anthropology of a gardener regarded within the context of metonymic and metaphoric activity of a postmodern subject; in theoretical perspective it discusses Gellner’s conception of the “symmetrical” and “asymmetrical” cultures. A set of photographs by Wojciech Prażmowski is a direct object of analysis (Ogrody polskie, Exhibition in the City Galery of Art, Częstochowa 2001, documented also in a book edition). Photographic conceptualization of Prażmowski is an outstanding testimony of the change within anthropological and artistic paradigms of considering the topic of garden and gardener, which enables the construal of a wider social and communicational diagnosis of the changes within contemporary culture.

Poniższy artykuł jest prezentacją i próbą oceny Rysu historii medycyny powszechnej, dzieła autorstwa jednego z wybitniejszych polskich historyków medycyny wieku XIX, Józefa Oettingera. Oettinger był jednym z pierwszych wśród lekarzy, który w sposób świadomy chciał się poświęcić badaniu przeszłości swego zawodu. Omawiana przeze mnie praca miała być w założeniu zwieńczeniem jego wieloletnich badań i przemyśleń. Nigdy jednak, poza paroma fragmentami, nie była drukowana. Dotrwał natomiast do naszych czasów kompletny rękopis przechowywany w zbiorach specjalnych Katedry Historii Medycyny Collegium Medicum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Rys historii medycyny powszechnej nie miał szczęścia do badaczy. Wspomina się o nim niekiedy, lecz jak dotąd zarówno jego zawartość, styl narracji, układ wewnętrzny, jak i ewentualne inspiracje, które mogły towarzyszyć powstawaniu dzieła, nie były przedmiotem głębszej analizy. Ten tekst ma na celu w pewnym stopniu tę lukę uzupełnić.
The following article presents and attempts to assess The Outline o f the General History of Medicine, a work by one of the most eminent Polish historians of medicine of the nineteenth century, Joseph Oettinger. Oettinger was one of the first physicians who deliberately wanted to study the past of his profession. The Oettinger s work discussed in this paper was intended to have been the culmination of the years of his research and historical reflection. His text, however, apart from a few fragments, has never been published. However, a complete manuscript has survived to our days and it is kept in the special collections of the History of Medicine Department of the Jagiellonian University. The Outline of the General History of Medicine has had no luck with researchers. It is mentioned occasionally but so far its content, the style of narration, the internal structure and possible influences that may have accompanied its writing have not been subjected to further analysis. This text is aimed to fulfill this gap to some extent.

Quality of life (QoL) is strongly influenced by an individual’s health. The lack of population studies measuring the QoL of people with physical disabilities (PD) and people who are deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) encouraged us to consider conducting this research. The aim of this study was to compare the satisfaction with quality of life indicators (QoLI) and domains (QoLD) between people with PD and people who are D/HH. This study included 315 individuals with disabilities, concretely with PD and hearing impairments. Participants were divided into two groups based on participation in physical activities: active (people with PD, n=73; people who are D/HH, n=52) and inactive (people with PD, n=77; people who are D/HH, n=113). The second part of Subjective Quality of Life Analysis (S.QUA.L.A.) between active and inactive members with disabilities was used. The Pearson chi-square test was used to determine the differences in satisfaction with 23 QoLI and 5 QoLD (general health, physical health and level of independence, psychological health and spirituality, social relationships and environment) between the two groups (active and inactive) within each population with disabilities. We found significant differences between active and inactive people with PD only in 3 from 23 QoLI and only in one from 5 QoLD. On the other hand active people who are D/HH presented significant higher satisfaction with 11 QoLI and with 4 QoLD as well as significant higher level of overall QoL (p<.05) comparing inactive individuals with the same disability. This evaluation of the satisfaction with QoLI and QoLD by S.QUA.L.A. shows that it is a suitable tool to asses QoL in the population with different kinds of disabilities. The results of our study confirmed that regular participation in sport increases QoL, especially in people who are D/HH.

Problem obliczania czasu nasłonecznienia dla pomieszczeń przeznaczonych na pobyt ludzi jest zagadnieniem znanym zarówno architektom aktywnym zawodowo, jak i studentom i teoretykom. Zapis w polskim prawie budowlanym regulujący minimalny czas nasłonecznienia dla takich pomieszczeń jest mocno restrykcyjny a równocześnie prawie niemożliwy do weryfikacji. Wynika to między innymi z braku istniejących narzędzi pozwalających na oszacowanie czy dane pomieszczenie spełnia narzucane przepisy. Powszechnie stosowanym narzędziem sprawdzającym występowanie zacieniania jest tzw. linijka słońca. Jest to metoda mało elastyczna, która nie pozwala na dynamiczne kształtowanie bryły projektowanego budynku, ponieważ każda zmiana kształtu wymaga powtórzenia żmudnej analizy. Zdaniem autora istnieje potrzeba stworzenia cyfrowego narzędzia umożliwiającego zautomatyzowanie tego procesu, umożliwiającego architektom pełną kontrolę nad problemem nasłonecznienia.
The problem of calculating insolation time for rooms to be used by humans is known to practicing architects as well as students and theoreticians. Polish building regulations concerning the minimal time of insolation are very restrictive and at the same time difficult to observe due to the lack of effective methods of estimating whether a given room meets the required standards. A widely used method in this respect is the shadow analysis, which is not flexible enough to facilitate a dynamic approach to design, as it requires a time-consuming calculation to be repeated after each change in the designed shape of the building. The author argues it is necessary to create computer tools to automate the process and give architects full control over the issue of insolation.

The article is devoted to one of the most important dilemmas of the training of an actor, which for Konstantin Stanislavsky was the issue of freedom of creation within the school stage. According to the author of the “system,” precisely the very lack of freedom of creation is one of the greatest threats lying in wait for a young artist. The author of the present article remarks that passing on knowledge of artisanal nature, expressed in the strife for the result – examination at all costs or the result – diploma spectacle, frequently becomes a priority of education on stage. In the first part of the article, K. Stanislavsky’s ideas on the freedom of creation will be made closer. Also, the opinions of the Russian and Soviet theatre pedagogues – continuators of thought voiced by the author of the “system” will be a significant voice in the considerations presented below. The second part will be devoted to the main arguments which contribute to the rejection by K. Stanislavsky of the old model of work on the spectacle and role and which influenced the elaboration of the so-called method of the analysis of play and role in action (Rus. действен- ный анализ пьесы и роли).

This article evaluates the significance of controllable parameters in the plasma cutting process, using the Plackett-Burman Method and the Analysis of Expert Opinions Method. The plasma cutting process was tested using a WPA-6000 Compakt plasma cutter, on non-alloy steel, of the S235JR EN 10025-2:2007 grade, with a carbon equivalent of 0.35%. The effect of the thickness of the sheet, the current flow rate, the cutting speed, the gas pressure during cutting, the height of the torch during cutting, the pierce delay time and the initial pierce height, were analysed. The research revealed the influence of the controllable parameters tested, in the plasma cutting process, on selected output parameters, surface cut drag lines, the width of the kerf at the inlet and outlet, and the value of the perpendicularity of the kerf on the surface of the base. The greatest influences were recorded for intensity of cutting current, cutting speed and gas pressure during cutting. The results obtained were confirmed by the results of the analysis of expert opinions.
W artykule dokonano oceny istotności parametrów sterowalnych procesu cięcia plazmowego za pomocą metody Placketta-Burmana i analizy opinii ekspertów. Badania procesu cięcia plazmowego przeprowadzono przy użyciu przecinarki plazmowej WPA- 6000 Compakt na stali niestopowej konstrukcyjnej gatunku S235JR EN 10025-2:2007 z ekwiwalentem węglowym wynoszącym 0.35 %. Analizowano wpływ grubości blachy, natężenia prądu, prędkości cięcia, ciśnienia gazów podczas cięcia, odstępu palnika od blachy podczas cięcia, czasu dziurkowania oraz wysokości startu. Badania ujawniły wpływ badanych parametrów sterowalnych procesu cięcia plazmowego na wybrane parametry wyjściowe, w szczególności na skok śladów cięcia, na szerokość szczeliny na wejściu i wyjściu oraz na wartość prostopadłości szczeliny do powierzchni bazowej. Największe wpływy zarejestrowano dla natężenia prądu, prędkości cięcia oraz ciśnienia gazu podczas cięcia. Otrzymane wyniki badań zostały potwierdzone wynikami analizy opinii ekspertów.

The authors focus their attention on the analysis of the probability density function of the equivalent noise level, in the context of a determination of the uncertainty of the obtained results in regard to the control of environmental acoustic hazards. In so doing, they discuss problems of correctness in the applicability of the classical normal distribution for the estimation of the expected interval value of the equivalent sound level. The authors also provide a set of procedures with respect to its derivation, based upon an assumption of the determined distribution of the measurement results. The obtained results then create the plane for the correct uncertainty calculation of the results of the determined controlled environmental acoustic hazard coefficient.

W pracy przedstawiliśmy model zależności zmiany ceny energii elektrycznej od czynników makroekonomicznych, takich jak zmiany: kursu dolara, kursu marki, inflacji, bezrobocia, cen produkcji w górnictwie, kopalnictwie oraz przetwórstwie przemysłowym, wydobyciu węgla kamiennego oraz czynników pogodowych. Przedmiotem badań jest empiryczna weryfikacja modelu ceny na RDN Giełdy Energii SA w 2001 r. z wykorzystaniem metody głównych składowych. Otrzymane wyniki skonfrontowaliśmy z wynikami uzyskanymi dla modelu APT, w którym do doboru składowych modelu zastosowaliśmy metodę analizy grafów i metodę optymalnego wyboru predyktant zaproponowanych przez Z. Hellwiga. Celem tej pracy jest wyłonienie modelu efektywniej opisującego kształtowanie się cen na RDN.
In this paper we presented the model of the dependence of the electricity price on macroeconomic factors such as changes in the dollar price, the Deutsche mark price, the rate of inflation, the rate of unemployment, price changes in the mining industry, the production of the manufacturing sector, the output of the mining industry and weather conditions. The aim of this article was the empirical verification of the price model on the Day Ahead Market (DAM) of the Polish Power Exchange in 2001 based on the principal components method. The results were compared with the results for the APT model, selected by means of the graph analysis method and the optimum choice method proposed by Z. Hellwig. The aim of this work was to choose the best model for the description of price trends on the DAM.

Opis:
Influence of evaluation criteria set reduction on results of the application of mathematical multi-criteria comparative analysis is discussed in the paper. The analysis is aimed at the selection of the most suitable installation alternative for heating a building and preparing hot domestic water. Four different types of candidate installation alternatives, which use renewable energy, have been considered in this regard. The provided considerations showed the strong need for further sensitivity analysis, concerning also influence of subjectivity during the selection of criteria.

The aim of the article is to present the interdisciplinary theoretical framework for the analysis of the constellation of temperature and desire as well as its representations in literature and culture, which have not been the subject of a broad reflection in the area of literary and cultural studies so far. The question therefore is: What is the role of the literary, iconographic and media discourses of temperature in the processes of the creating and transformations of emotional cultures, social phenomena, political condi-tions, and last but not least in the critical reflection of these processes.
