    The aim of the article is to show conspiratorial thinking combined with technophobia. The author presents the similarities and relations between conspiracy theories and other narratives (present in popular culture), which emerged as the aftermath of the Cold War and apocalyptic fears. The article presents three options for the perception of the relation between technology and conspiracy theories: in the context of dystopian and utopian cultural texts, and in the context of space as no-place, in which there operates a community centered around conspiracy theories.

    The aim of this text is to analyze the cyborg motif in mainstream American science fiction films, as represented by the Terminator and RoboCop film series. The cyborg characters presented in these films are focused mainly on violence and destruction, which emphasizes the technophobic attitude of the culture within which these films were made. The only redemption of their otherness is showing their humanity. For a cyborg, its technological provenance is a burden and results in its sense of guilt. In this manner, American science fiction films support anthropocentrism and the conservative status quo.

    W artykule rozważane są problemy związane z nauczaniem filozofii na uczelniach technicznych. Pierwsza bariera nauczania dotyczy stereotypów i uprzedzeń związanych z techniką (technofilia, technofobia). Następna związana jest z brakiem elementów filozofii techniki w programie nauczania filozofii, ostatnia – z brakiem refleksji metatechnicznej w treściach przedmiotów technicznych.
    The paper concerns the problems of the teaching of philosophy in technical universities. Stereotypes and prejudices concerning technology (technophilia, technophobia) are the first barrier in this enterprise. The second barrier is caused by the lack of philosophy of technology in philosophical courses, and the third one is brought on by the absence of meta-technical reflection in technical subjects.

    Jednym z kluczowych zagadnień poruszanych w rozważaniach na temat wewnętrznych uwarunkowań funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw są patologie organizacyjne. W obszarze zainteresowania badaczy szczególnie widoczne są zachowania i mechanizmy dysfunkcyjne, nieefektywne, destrukcyjne oraz destabilizujące, obserwowane w stopniu, który można uznać za „patologiczny”. W dobie czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej, która stopniowo wymusza na przedsiębiorstwach wdrożenie zaawansowanych maszyn i technologii oraz ich integrację z ludźmi, tworząc cyberfizyczną rzeczywistość, zauważalnych jest wiele zjawisk wewnętrznych, utrudniających przejście przez proces transformacji. Ograniczenia te mogą przyjmować charakter trwałego „lęku”, mającego cechy charakterystyczne dla patologii organizacyjnych. W artykule, na podstawie analizy wyników badań wtórnych, podjęto próbę konceptualizacji lęku technologicznego, wskazując na jego wieloaspektowość oraz złożoność, a także znaczenie dla wyborów strategicznych przedsiębiorstw.
    Organizational pathologies are amongst key issues raised when considering the impact of intra-organisational conditions on corporate performance. Researchers are interested mainly in behaviours and mechanisms that are dysfunctional, ineffective, destructive, or destabilising and exhibit sufficient intensity to be viewed as ”pathological”. In the age of the 4th industrial revolution, which gradually forces enterprises to use advanced machinery and technologies, as well as to integrate them with people into a cyber-physical reality, we can observe a number of internal phenomena that inhibit the transformation. Such limitations may take the form of a lasting “fear” bearing features typical of organizational pathologies. Based on the analysis of results of desk studies, the paper attempts to conceptualise technophobia by pointing to its multi-aspect complexity, as well as its meaning for strategic choices made by enterprises.

    Fear is an emotion imminently related to our human nature. It redefines almost the entire trajectory of ouralives, often turning it inside out. It is present at our birth, and accompanies us in our final hour. It is a universal experience, one of the most primal of emotions, which humans try to tame and defeat. Since the dawn of history, people have been scared of someone or something. At first, it was nature, animals or – generally speaking – the unknown. Slowly but successfully technology is taking over the role of the Alien, simultaneously linking this figure with all negative ideas.

    Opis:
    The article presents a conceptualization of a new form of community - virtual community. The author does not aspire to a holistic explication of the influence of new technology on the functioning of societies. She attempts rather to explain only one of its areas - that pertaining to the evolution of interpersonal interactions as shaped by new technology. This article poses the question whether it is possible for the virtual communities to form and function in an analogous manner to the communities in a real society. The author uses data from her own research; she also takes into consideration other empirical works, so that the results are complex and objective, and are far from one-sided and simplistic. The article shows the particular ethos of Internet community members and explains how their norms and values are played out on the Internet, also pointing out the implications of deviant behavior. The author tackles a vital ąuestion of role-play and identity building in virtual reality. Finally, she presents a typology of Internet users and Internet culture.
    W przedstawionym artykule podejmuję próbę konceptualizacji nowej formy społeczności - społeczności wirtualnych. Przedstawiony artykuł nie aspiruje do całościowej eksplikacji wpływu nowych technologii na funkcjonowanie społeczeństw w wymiarze holistycznym, stanowi raczej próbę egzegezy jednego z jej obszarów - dotyczącą ewoluowania interakcji międzyludzkich pod wypływem nowych technologii. Niniejsza praca próbuje udzielić odpowiedź na pytanie, czy możliwe jest formowanie się i funkcjonowanie społeczności wirtualnych, analogicznych do społeczności w świecie rzeczywistym. Na podstawie badań zaprezentowany zostaje wpływ Internetu na aktywność społeczną sensu largo. Autorka konfrontuje ze sobą różnorodne prace empiryczne, by uzyskany obraz był kompleksowy i obiektywny, daleki od jednostronności i schematycznych uproszczeń. Zaprezentowany tekst wyjaśnia, na czym polega swoisty ethos członków internetowych społeczności oraz wskazuje, jak przebiega realizowanie norm i wartości w Internecie, wskazując na implikacje zachowań dewiacyjnych. Poruszona zostaje niezwykle ważna kwestia odgrywania ról i budowania tożsamości w rzeczywistości wirtualnej, a także zaprezentowana zostaje typologia internetowych graczy oraz typologia kultury internetowej.
