    The aim of the presented study is to identify the attitudes of future teachers (in pre-service teacher education) toward Augmented Reality (AR) applications. The innovation experience was carried out in the academic year 2016/17. For the collection of data, the Augmented Reality Applications Attitude Scale (ARAAS), by Küçük, Yilmaz, Baydaş & Göktaş (2014), was adapted to the Spanish context. It is a Likert scale grouped into three dimensions that determine the attitudes of future teachers toward the use of AR applications in education, which are Relevance, Satisfaction and Reliability. In order to analyse data, the statistical software SPSS 23.0 was used. The Bartlett test of sphericity and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test for sampling adequacy were also conducted. Results of the study led to the following conclusions: the students developed a favourable attitude in their role as future teachers toward the use of AR applications as learning tools, which have also provided deep learning.

    Opis:
    In the article, the author attempts to analyze the contemporary conditions for the necessary changes in teachers' attitudes. He perceives the philosophical reflection in the direction of ethics as the basis for drawing conclusions on the optimal education and shaping and professional functioning of people responsible for the education of the young generation. In the reflectiveness of the educational environment, the author also perceives the chance to understand the ethical conditions of changes in the contemporary profiles of teachers, which are forced by new demographic and socio-cultural phenomena in Europe and in the world. The article is in line with the search for a thoroughly modern paradigm of personality of educators in the XXI century.
    W treści artykułu autor podejmuje próbę analizy współczesnych uwarunkowań koniecznych przemian w postawach nauczycielskich. Refleksję filozoficzną ukierunkowaną na etykę postrzega jako podstawę wyprowadzania wniosków co do optymalnego edukowania i kształtowania oraz zawodowego funkcjonowania osób odpowiedzialnych za wychowanie młodego pokolenia. W refleksyjności środowiska edukacyjnego postrzega też autor szansę na zrozumienie etycznych uwarunkowań przemian we współczesnych sylwetkach zawodowych nauczycielek i nauczycieli, które wymuszane są nowymi zjawiskami demograficznymi i społeczno-kulturowymi w Europie i na świecie. Artykuł wpisuje się w poszukiwania na wskroś nowoczesnego paradygmatu osobowościowego edukatorek i edukatorów w XXI wieku.

    The study was conducted to explore teachers’ attitudes towards reflective practice in public and private sector at the higher secondary level. Objectives of the study were to investigate teachers’ attitude about the need for reflective practice in teaching and to explore teachers’ attitudes towards the use of reflective practice for understanding students’ learning difficulties. It was a descriptive study done in the Pakistani context. For this purpose, the researcher developed a questionnaire to find out teachers’ attitudes towards reflective practice. Data was collected through the stratified random sampling technique from 300 teachers teaching higher secondary classes of private and public sector higher secondary schools/ colleges. The analysis of the data was made by applying mean, SD (standard deviation), t-test and ANOVA (analysis of variance) through SPSS (statistical package for social sciences). The findings showed that teachers of both the public and private sectors did not realize the need for reflective practice at the higher secondary level for understanding students’ learning difficulties. It was recommended that teachers of the public and private sector may be aware of reflective practice through training programs. Strategies of reflective practice are supposed to be used by teachers in the teaching learning process. It is suggested that reflective practice may be mentioned in the syllabus of the training course. The findings of the presented study have implication for teachers and curriculum developers of professional development programs.

    One of the objectives of schools is preparing the younger generation for life not just at the present time but for the future above all. The ongoing changes in the society involve the need for changes in education, which requires teachers – including mathematics teachers – to develop professional skills constantly. It is important that teachers modify their teaching methods and adapt them to changing circumstances. However, the research shows that mathematics lessons are similar and methods used have been the same for many years. In the article the author formulates a thesis that one of the reasons for that are mathematics teachers’ attitudes towards change. On the basis of the research done the author presents the typology of these attitudes pointing out that reluctance, scepticism, and sham approval for implementing changes in teaching methods are predominant attitudes among teachers. As a result, mathematics teachers educate in the same way as they used to be a dozen or several dozen years ago.

    This paper reports on a one-year longitudinal study that adopted a blended teaching approach based on designing and implementing an online EFL course to be used by Greek students aged 13-14 years old along their more traditional face-to-face lessons. The reason for creating a more dynamic learning environment aligned with the rest of the curriculum was to increase EFL learners’ engagement and motivation through their exposure to authentic online material and participation in a variety of reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks. Data analysis of pre- and post-achievement tests on English language reading comprehension performance along with students’ Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) attitude questionnaire showed that participants generally had a positive attitude toward CALL. At the same time, open online access technologies gave them the opportunity to further develop their EFL reading comprehension skills. The paper concludes by highlighting the fact that online class components were not designed to fit the online tools into a task-based EFL lesson, but rather served the learning objectives of the actual lesson based on a blended teaching approach.

    The problem of students' understanding and mastering mathematics is currently one of the most emphasized topics of expert public discussion. New ways of teaching mathematics more effectively and attractively are being searched for. The information society brings new alternatives nowadays; it enables us to change established and rigid forms and methods in teaching. While searching an answer to the question why the student attitudes toward mathematics are so often negative and what could influence this situation in a positive way, we conducted a survey realized under the program ITMS -Flexible and attractive study at the University of Žilina for the needs of the market and knowledge-based society. The paper presents some of the out comes which have ensued from the data obtained in the project realization. 200 students from three faculties of the University of Žilina were addressed in the survey (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, Faculty of Special Engineering), in which their attitudes toward mathematics were detected as well as the factors determining these attitudes.

    Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest ocena osoby i pontyfikatu św. Jana Pawła II z racji setnej rocznicy jego urodzin. Program badawczy został zrealizowany na podstawie zmodyfikowanej ankiety Polacy a Papież, którą przygotował ks. prof. Józef Makselon. Grupę respondentów tworzyli słuchacze, działającego przy Uniwersytecie Papieskim Jana Pawła II w Krakowie, Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku. Pośród 176 ankietowanych było 88,6% kobiet i 11,4% mężczyzn w wieku od 50 do 87 lat. Ankietowani to osoby zdecydowanie wierzące (59,7%) i wierzące (35,8%), charakteryzujące się wysokimi praktykami religijnymi.Święty Jan Paweł II był dla ankietowanych namiestnikiem Chrystusa (49,3%), głową Kościoła katolickiego (13,2%) i najwyższym autorytetem moralnym (19,1%). Był on postrzegany jako człowiek głębokiej wiary (27,1%), mądrości (21,7%), mocy ducha (12,2%).Głównymi osiągnięciami pontyfikatu były: odbudowa wiary (32,5%), obalenie komunizmu (28,5%) oraz pielgrzymowanie do wielu krajów (26,1%). Do najważniejszych tematów papieskiego nauczania zostały zaliczona problematyka wiary (19,2%), miłości ojczyzny (16,7%), małżeństwa i rodziny (15%).Respondenci deklarują, że są gotowi do pracy nad sobą i zmiany postaw oraz do wprowadzania w życie nauczania papieskiego. Zdają sobie jednak sprawę z czekających ich trudności, dlatego często (49,4%), a nawet codziennie (30%) modlą się do Boga za pośrednictwem św. Jana Pawła II. Ankietowani pamiętają również o modlitwie w intencji dzieci i wnuków (29,2%), o zgodę w ojczyźnie (25,4%) i o zdrowia dla siebie (22,6%).
    The purpose of this article is to evaluate the person and the pontificate of Saint John Paul II due to the centenary of his birth. The research program was implemented on the basis of a modified survey “Poles and the Pope” prepared by Fr. prof. Makselon. The group of respond ents was composed of students of the Third Age University at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. Among the 176 respondents aged 61 to 75, women constituted 88.6% and men 11.4%. The respondents were firm Catholic believers (59.7%) and believers (35.8%), characterized by high religious practices.According to the survey, St. John Paul II was the Governor of Christ (49.3%), head of the Catholic Church (13.2%) and the highest moral authority (19.1%). He was seen as a man of deep faith (27.1%), wisdom (21.7%) and power of spirit (12.2%). The main achievements of the pontificate were: the restoration of faith (32.5%), the overthrow of communism (28.5%) and pilgrimages to many countries (26.1%). The most important topics of papal teaching included issues of faith (19.2%), love for the homeland (16.7%), marriage and family (15%).The respondents declare that they are ready to work on themselves to implement papal teaching. However, they are aware of difficulties ahead, so they often (49.4%) and even daily (30%) pray asking St. John Paul II to intercede with the Lord on their behalves. The respondents also remember to pray for their children and grandchildren (29.2%), for the consent in their homeland (25.4%) and for their health (22.6%).

    Wielu autorów zajmujących się egzystencjalną sytuacją człowieka odwoływało się do postaw „być” i „mieć” (np. G. Marcel, E. Mounier, Jan Paweł II, E. Fromm). Bronisław Grulkowski (1995, 2000, 2007) skonstruował oryginalną psychologiczną Skalę Postaw Być i Mieć (SPBiM). Prezentowane badania przeprowadzono wśród narzeczonych przygotowujących się do zawarcia sakramentu małżeństwa oraz osób żyjących w konkubinatach. Za pomocą skali SPBiM wydzielono grupy osób o postawach skrajnych pod względem postaw „być” i „mieć”. Przeanalizowane zostały różnice postaw i wypowiedzi na temat narzeczeństwa, małżeństwa, rodziny oraz trudności i kryzysów, które mogą dotykać współczesne małżeństwa i rodziny. Zaprezentowana analiza potwierdza słuszność wysuniętych wcześniej hipotez, że badani o postawach „być” mają bardziej pozytywny obraz Boga i dojrzalszą religijność, bardziej doceniają znaczenie miłości do współmałżonka, a także bardziej akceptują naukę katolicką na temat małżeństwa i rodziny.
    Many authors dealing with the existential situation of a man have referred to the attitudes ‘to be’ and ‘to have’ (i.e. G. Marcel, E. Mounier, John Paul II, E. Fromm). Bronisław Grulkowski (1995, 2000, 2007) built an original psychological Scale of To Be and To Have Attitudes (SPBiM). The research described was done among the fiancées preparing for the sacrament of marriage and the couples who cohabit. With the use of the SPBiM scale, groups of people with extreme attitudes towards ‘to be’ and ‘to have’ were distinguished. The analysis comprised the differences of attitudes and opinions on engagement period, marriage, family, problems and crises which may concern contemporary couples and families. The conclusions confirm the earlier hypotheses that the examined with ‘to be’ attitudes have a more positive picture of God and more mature religiousness. They appreciate the meaning of love for the spouse more and they accept the Catholic teaching on marriage and family to a greater extent.

    The aim of the paper is to reflect on the problem of errors in the foreign language teaching-learning process from the learner’s perspective. The author proposes to investigate learners’ beliefs and opinions related to the role of errors in foreign language learning process. The problem will be discussed in the context of the teaching-learning process of French as a second language to adult beginners. The study was conducted among the students of the Institute of Romance Languages and Translation Studies at the University of Silesia. The data collected was analysed and divided into subject categories in order to provide an overall view of students’ beliefs and attitudes towards errors.

    Przeprowadzone na potrzeby artykułu analizy przemówień papieża Franciszka pokazały, że podejmowane przez niego wątki społeczne nie wpłynęły na poglądy Polaków, ani też nie zmieniły ich postaw. Porównując wyniki badań z komentarzami medialnymi, można odnieść wrażenie, że Polacy znacznie bardziej słuchali dziennikarzy niż słów papieża. Powodem tego był fakt, że większość Polaków otrzymywała informacje o papieskiej pielgrzymce z mediów. Wiadomości te zawierały zinterpretowane przez dziennikarzy słowa papieża Franciszka. Oddzielenie wypowiedzi papieskich od dziennikarskich interpretacji to zadanie trudne, które wymaga od odbiorcy czasu i intelektualnego wysiłku. Z tego powodu Polacy wybierali łatwiejszą drogę, akceptując przedstawiane przez media interpretacje.
    Our analyses have shown that Pope Francis’ social teachings did not affect the views of Poles and did not change their attitudes. Comparing them with the media commentaries, one might get the impression that the Poles listened to the journalists rather than the Pope himself. The reason for this was the fact that most Poles got their information about the papal pilgrimage from the media. This information contained Pope Francis’ words, but already interpreted by the journalists. Separating these words from their interpretations is a difficult task – it requires intellectual effort and time. Poles therefore chose the easier route – they accepted what the media suggested.

    Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie założeń dotyczących podstawowych filarów edukacji, określonych przez Międzynarodową Komisję do spraw Edukacji dla XXI wieku, która pracowała pod kierunkiem Jacques’a Delorsa (przewodniczącego Komisji Europejskiej w latach 1985–1995). Pokłosiem obrad Komisji jest Raport dla UNESCO „Edukacja: jest w niej ukryty skarb” („L’Éducation: Un trésor est caché dedans”, UNESCO 1996). W artykule zastosowano kryterium problemowe, odniesione do poszczególnych części raportu i kategorii postaw dotyczących: zrównoważonego rozwoju, procesu wychowania, kształcenia do współżycia z innymi, odkrywania Innego.
    The aim of the article is to present assumptions concerning the basic pillars of education, defined by the International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century, which operated under the supervision of Jacques Delors (President of the European Commission in the years 1985-1995) Learning: The Treasure Within (original title: L’Éducation: Un trésor est caché dedans, UNESCO 1996). The criterion applied in the article is the problem, referred to particular categories of attitudes concerning sustainable development, the process of education, developing the skill of coexistence with others, discovering the other one.
