    The article reveals the opportunities, types of organization and ways to use the citizen science results at the Pedagogical University. It’s been proved that future teachers of different specialties have certain personal qualities that affect their training for scientific research activity. These qualities differ significantly. All in all, the average values of personal qualities indicators point out that future teachers can be quite successful in certain types of scientific research activities, considering their strong personal characteristics and improving the weak ones. It is proved that if the pedagogical university organizes the participation of students in citizen science, then they better develop the skills of self-organization and other personal qualities, essential for a modern teacher-researcher.

    The article discusses the position of young researchers within the field of Polish pedagogy. The article is based on a simple survey. The main objective of the texts is to analyze fundamental problems that the group in question is faced with. The key questions referring to young Polish researchers of pedagogy cover three areas: day-to-day reality of young researchers; research funding system; prospects and visions of changes of the current situation. Also, these three areas govern the structure of the article. In the final part, I attempt to present the main conclusions of the conducted analyses.

    Bogdan Walczak, full professor, doctor habilitatus and one of the most distinguished students of Professor Władysław Kuraszkiewicz. Since his graduation from the Polish Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University in1965, he developed his career at the Poznań university where he was awarded his doctor and doctor habilitatus degrees. At the behest of the University Council of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology he was appointed professor. Bogdan Walczak made his academic debut in 1964. Since that time, he has published over a thousand research and popular science works on various linguistic sub-disciplines, with special emphasis placed on linguistics related to the Polish and Slavic languages. The history of the general Polish language and its regional variations have been at the centre of his research. On the other hand, he has devoted a large part of his work to contemporary Polish, the culture of the Polish language and the cultural heritage enshrined in the Polish language, glottodidactics, onomastics, social linguistics and methodology of linguistic research. Professor Bogdan Walczak is also a valued academic teacher and organizer of research activities.He has received many awards, including the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Medal of the Commission ofNational Education for his remarkable research and academic achievements and for his organizational work,which has been of such importance to his alma mater.In 2012, when he retired, he was granted the esteemed title of senior professor of Adam Mickiewicz Universityin Poznań.

    Przedstawiony artykuł został napisany, aby upamiętnić Profesora Piotra Winczorka, który zmarł 9 lutego 2015 r. Był on związany z Wydziałem Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego przez ponad 50 lat. Artykuł skupia się jednak na trzech wymiarach aktywności akademickiej Profesora: badacza, nauczyciela i przyjaciela. Zainteresowania naukowe Piotra Winczorka ewoluowały. Początkowo badał funkcjonowanie partii politycznych zwłaszcza w Polsce w czasach systemu komunistycznego. Starał się przy tym badać różne postacie pluralizmu społecznego i politycznego. W latach 1980-tych Piotr Winczorek skoncentrował się na zagadnieniach teorii prawa, rozwijając własne ujęcie realizmu prawniczego. Po 1989 r. Profesor skupił się na zagadnieniach prawa publicznego, szczególnie na założeniach aksjologicznych i praktyce konstytucjonalizmu, zwłaszcza prymacie konstytucji w porządku prawnym, praworządności, podziale władz oraz równości wobec prawa. Piotr Winczorek był też niezwykłym nauczycielem. Prowadził zajęcia ze studentami, inicjował nowe przedmioty i nowe programy nauczania. Napisał kilka podręczników i skryptów dla studentów, w tym podręcznik ze wstępu do prawoznawstwa, który w ciągi 30 lat opublikowano w 14 wydaniach. Profesor znany był również dzięki opublikowaniu wielu artykułów i komentarzy na tematy konstytucyjne. Dla koleżanek i kolegów Piotr Winczorek był prawdziwym przyjacielem. Zapraszał młodych do codziennej współpracy, wspólnych badań naukowych i publikacji. Wykazywał się też wielką odwagą cywilną, gdy bronił nas przed atakami biurokratycznymi lub politycznymi. Jego uczciwość i mądrość została zapamiętana nie tylko na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim.
    This article was written to commemorate Professor Piotr Winczorek, who passed away on 9 February 2015. He was associated with the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw for over 50 years. However, the article focuses on three dimensions of Professor’s academic activity: those of a researcher, teacher and friend. Piotr Winczorek’s scientific interests evolved. Initially, he studied the functioning of political parties, especially in Poland during the communist regime. In this context, he tried to study various forms of social and political pluralism. In the 1980s, Piotr Winczorek concentrated on the issues of legal theory, developing his own approach to legal realism. After 1989, Professor focused on issues of public law, especially on axiological assumptions and the practice of constitutionalism, particularly the primacy of the constitution in the legal order, the rule of law, the separation of powers, and equality before the law. Piotr Winczorek was also an extraordinary teacher. He conducted classes with students, initiated new subjects and new curricula. He wrote several textbooks and coursebooks for students, including the textbook Introduction to Jurisprudence, which had 14 editions published over the past 30 years. Professor was also known for his many articles and commentaries on constitutional issues. For his younger colleagues, Piotr Winczorek was a true friend. He would invite them on a daily basis to cooperate, do joint research, and publish together. He also showed great civil courage in defending us against bureaucratic or political attacks. His honesty and wisdom is still remembered well beyond the walls of the University of Warsaw.

Był zasłużonym pracownikiem naukowym Instytutu Języka Polskiego PAN, nauczycielem akademickim, wychowawcą wielu roczników polonistów Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, popularyzatorem wiedzy o języku ojczystym. Wniósł ogromny wkład naukowy i organizacyjny w rozwój „Języka Polskiego”, jednego z najbardziej cenionych polskich czasopism językoznawczych. Do najważniejszych prac Pana Profesora należą następujące publikacje zwarte: Porównawczy słownik trzech wsi małopolskich Rozwój iteratiwów dokonanych w języku polskim; Rodzaj gramatyczny w historii polszczyzny; Jakuba Parkosza traktat o ortografii polskiej; Twoja mowa cię zdradza. W roku 2000 Instytut Języka Polskiego PAN wydał zbiór jego najważniejszych artykułów naukowych – Polszczyzna dawna i współczesna. Studia i szkice. Profesor Marian Kucała był współredaktorem Słownika staropolskiego oraz twórcą koncepcji i redaktorem Słownika polszczyzny Jana Kochanowskiego. Jego prace naukowe z zakresu językoznawstwa diachronicznego i synchronicznego w najróżniejszych jego aspektach należą do głównego nurtu polskiego i słowiańskiego językoznawstwa. Profesor Marian Kucała prowadził wszechstronne badania językoznawcze, miał ogromną wiedzę na temat funkcjonowania języka polskiego w aspekcie diachronicznym i synchronicznym, cieszył się wielkim uznaniem w środowisku językoznawczym jako naukowiec i jako mistrz, promotor, nauczyciel, redaktor, który wywarł ogromny wpływ na rozwój naukowy wielu językoznawców w Polsce, udzielając im swojej wiedzy i patronując ich pracom naukowym.
    The article shows the silhouette of prof. dr. hab. Marian Kucała (1927–2014), a great linguist, master and teacher. Professor is the author of about 300 books, articles, studies in the field of dialectology, history of Polish language, historical and contemporary lexicography, religious language, onomastics, linguistic correctness, contemporary Polish language and even glottodidactics. He was a distinguished scientist at the Institute of the Polish Language of the Polish Academy of Sciences, an academic teacher, teacher of many Polish students at the Catholic University of Lublin, popularizer of knowledge about native language, which should be described as a language teacher. He made a huge scientific and organizational contribution to the development of “Język Polski”, one of the most valued Polish linguistics journals. The most important of his works are the following compact publications: Porównawczy słownik trzech wsi małopolskich; Rozwój iteratiwów dokonanych w języku polskim; Rodzaj gramatyczny w historii polszczyzny; Jakuba Parkosza traktat o ortografii polskiej; Twoja mowa cię zdradza. Regionalizmy i dialektyzmy języka polskiego; Mały słownik poprawnej polszczyzny. In 2000, the Institute of the Polish Language of the Pollish Academy of Science published a collection of his most important scientific articles: Polszczyzna dawna i współczesna. Studia i szkice. Professor Marian Kucała was the co-editor and editor of such significant lexicographical studies as the Słownik staropolski and the Słownik polszczyzny Jana Kochanowskiego. His scientific works representing diachronic and synchronous linguistics in a variety of aspects have had a significant impact on the development of Polish and Slavic linguistics. Professor Marian Kucała conducted a wide range of linguistic research, he had a great knowledge of how the Polish language functions in a diachronic and synchronous aspect, he enjoyed great recognition in the linguistic environment as a scientist and as a master, promoter, teacher who had a huge impact on the scientific development of many linguists in Poland, providing knowledge and promoting their scientific work.

    Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie trudności metodologicznych i problemów, jakie napotkałam jako badacz, prowadząc badania terenowe dotyczące emocji w pracy zawodowej nauczycieli, w kontekście dwóch kwestii, to jest uzyskania dostępu do danych oraz poszukiwania tożsamości przez badacza. Analiza ograniczona została do trudności wiążących się z wyborem terenu badań, problemów z wejściem na teren badań i uzyskaniem dostępu do danych oraz refleksji dotyczących świadomego ukrywania tożsamości badacza. Opisywane badania etnograficzne dotyczyły emocji w pracy zawodowej nauczycieli. Założyłam, że jedynie przyjęcie paradygmatu interpretatywnego da mi podstawy do zrozumienia procesu kierowania emocjami oraz pozwoli na dostrzeżenie emocji, w tym ich źródła, występujących w pracy nauczyciela. Zawarte w artykule przemyślenia są wynikiem: 1) wielokrotnych obserwacji oraz obserwacji uczestniczących prowadzonych przez autorkę w latach 2008−2016 na terenie szkół podstawowych i gimnazjów z aglomeracji łódzkiej; 2) analiz wywiadów swobodnych małoustrukturalizowanych oraz ustrukturalizowanych prowadzonych przez autorkę z obecnymi nauczycielami, emerytowanymi nauczycielami, rodzicami, dyrektorami szkół i pozostałymi pracownikami szkół; 3) nieustrukturyzowanych rozmów badawcza z badanymi, 4) analiz dokumentów zastanych i stron internetowych. Wybór tożsamości badacza determinowany jest terenem badań. W badaniu placówek edukacyjnych ujawnienie tożsamości badacza umożliwia szerszy dostęp do danych.
    The aim of the article is to present the methodological difficulties and problems that I encountered as a researcher conducting field research on emotions in teachers’ professional work, in the context of two issues, i.e. access to data and researcher’s search for identity. The analysis was limited to the difficulties associated with the selection of the research area, problems with entering the research area and obtaining access to data and reflections on the conscious hiding of the researcher’s identity. The ethnographic studies described concerned emotions in teachers’ professional work. I assumed that only the interpretation paradigm would give me the basics to understand the process of managing emotions and let me see the emotions, including their sources, present in the teacher’s work. The reflections in the article are the result of: 1) multiple observations and participant observations conducted by the author in 2008-2016 at primary and junior high schools from the Łódź agglomeration; 2) analyzes of unstructured and structured interviews conducted by the author with current teachers, retired teachers, parents, principals and other school employees; 3) unstructured research talks with the respondents, 4) analyzes of existing documents and websites. The selection of the researcher’s identity is determined by the research area. In the study of educational institutions, revealing the identity of the researcher enables wider access to data.
