Opis:
Empirical research shows that chronic diseases have specific, idiosyncratic functions in the family, and give real, psychosocial advantages (like tightening loosened family relations or helping solve interpersonal conflicts). This leaves the question – can schizophrenic disorders have similar function in the family system as a chronic somatic disease? We have analyzed systemic family traits in families with schizophrenic young patients (50 families). The reference samples were two kinds of families: families with schizophrenic adults and families without any chronic disease or chronic illness (“healthy families”). The subjects of analysis were coefficients of the systemic features, identified by factor analysis according to author’s proposal. Oneway Anova was used to compare indexes between three groups of families. The results show that mental disorder in adolescents participates in the life of the whole family, having similar functions to the functions of chronic somatic diseases. They also suggest that, from the family members’ point of view, schizophrenic disorders in a teenagers has different quality compared to schizophrenic disorders in an adult.

factor analysis in family research
Opis:
The distinction between two types of diagnosis of family was inspired by the concept of surface and source features of personality by R.B. Cattell. By means of existing psychological questionnaires we can only know the surface of consciously available mental phenomena. The same is true in the diagnosis of family. The McMaster model of family, systemic in its assumptions, developed research tools giving access only to the surface of the phenomena. Although they are divided into certain thematic categories they do not reveal what is really important in the family system. In this article, the author, after a detailed discussion of one of the tests based on the McMaster theoretical model, is attempting to identify the source features (here: unavailable for conscious cognition) of the family, hereinafter called systemic traits. In this research the exploration factor analysis was used. Three perspectives of the opinion of the family were maintained (like in the Family Assessment Measure). Factor analysis allowed identification of three factors for each perspective of the family assessment. Confirmative analysis proved a satisfactory match (using RMSEA, GFI and AGFI statistics). The accuracy of the identified systemic model was then tested by a confirmation study (confirmative factor analysis using Amos from SPSS). The authors also prepared a provisional questionnaire for measuring these systemic traits of the family. The tool proved to be promising and the work worth continuing. Incidentally, it turned out that the characteristics of the family system are relatively independent of personality traits of family members.

Opis:
The following article seeks to present the model of classification of German derivatives which can be traced to both Fillmore’s The Case for Case (1968) and the German formative description proposed by Hans Wellmann from 1984 to 1998 (Duden. Die Grammatik, Band 4). The model seems to remain in conformity with the rule of aligning semantic fields to particular parts of sentences. The particular rule applied for German language was formulated by Wolfgang Motsch (2004). Renata Grzegorczykowa and Jadwiga Puzynina (1999) applied the rule in their analysis of the Polish word formation system. The fundamental role of the model is to classify each and every occurrence of the derivatives in accordance to both their semantic role and the directly motivating sentence segment of an explicative phrase. Derivatives set in such classes can be additionally classified in accordance to the specifi ed suffixes. The discussed model allows systemizing the results of word formation of a particular language. The model enables distinguishing systemic traits of vocabulary, therefore providing the learner with a specific overview and a greater degree of transparency. While considering German and Danish languages, it can be concluded that the Danish word formation system remains in conformity with its German counterpart and is equally complicated in its nature. Danish derivational translating equivalents comprise 65% of Danish equivalents in the following study.
