Opis:
The modeling of logistic systems is a complex task. Specitic goals to be attained by the systems (mainly cargo stream form transformations) and the diversity of resources used within the systems are the main reasons. Therefore various models useful for the partial analyses of logistic systems have been devised. The author's approach to the formaI notation of a logistic system model proposed in this paper may be used as a basis to work out various classes of detailed (integrated) models. In addition to cargo stream time, form and location transformations, transformations of material and human resources used within logistic systems have also been taken into account in the proposed model.
Modelowanie systemów logistycznych stanowi złożone zagadnienie. Przyczyną tego jest specyfika zadań stawianych przed tymi systemami (głównie chodzi tu o transformacje strumieni ładunków ze względu na postać) oraz różnorodność zasobów, jakie mogą być w tych systemach wykorzystywane. Sprawia to, że konstruowane są różnorodne modele systemów logistycznych, które umożliwiają ich cząstkowe analizy. W artykule zaproponowano autorskie podejście do formalizacji zapisu modelu systemu logistycznego, który może być podstawą do opracowywania modeli szczegółowych (scalonych) różnych klas. W proponowanym modelu poza odwzorowaniem przekształceń strumieni ładunków ze względu na czas, postać oraz przestrzeń, w sposób szczegółowy przedstawiono odwzorowanie rzeczowych i ludzkich zasobów wykorzystywanych w systemach logistycznych.

Autor w pracy przedstawia potencjał głównych systemów ratowniczych odpowiedzialnych za ogólne bezpieczeństwo państwa. W dwóch rozdziałach opisał dwa współdziałające systemy: krajowy system ratowniczo-gaśniczy i Państwowe Ratownictwo Medyczne. Rozdział pierwszy zawiera opis krajowego systemu ratowniczo-gaśniczego, zasady jego organizacji i działania, pokazuje zadania systemu, definiuje kluczowe pojęcia, a przede wszystkim pokazuje jego potencjał z wyszczególnieniem sił i środków zawartych w systemie. Rozdział drugi charakteryzuje Państwowe Ratownictwo Medyczne, definiuje kluczowe pojęcia, określa specyfikę systemu. Określa również siły i środki wchodzące w skład systemu oraz najważniejsze zadania. Praca została oparta na aktach prawnych regulujących funkcjonowanie systemów i materiałach uzyskanych z Komendy Głównej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej oraz Ministerstwa Zdrowia.
The author presents in his work potential of the principal emergency systems, responsible for general security of the state. In the two sections two interacting systems are described: a national system of rescue-fire fighting and national medical emergency. The first chapter contains a description of the national rescue-fire fighting, established rules for its organization and operation, shows the tasks of the system, defines key concepts, and above all shows his potential, listing the number and strength of the measures included in the system. The second chapter is characterized by the State Emergency Medical Services System, defines key concepts, determine the specificity of the system and its rules. It also specifies the powers and resources included in the system, and the most important tasks. Work has been based on the legal acts regulating the functioning of the systems and the materials obtained from the Headquarters of the State Fire Service and the Ministry of Health.

The offshore structures, such as multi-articulated towers, manipulators working in waving fluid are more and more popular structures. Commonly they are modelled as an inverted pendulum. The motion of such tower immersed in waving fluid is under consideration. It is assumed that the tower is hinged to the seabed by the hinge with friction. The joint of tower elements is the hinge with friction, as well. Motion of tower loaded by regular wave fluid force is considered. The numerical experiment shows that the multi-potential systems may move chaotically for some parameters of the tower and the fluid.

The paper contains a metrisable proposal of education state systemic assessment, representing the notion of student’s educational potential at any type of university. Student’s educational potential is described by a vector, which components are the dominating factors in the process of education. They are: academic standards, economic efficiency, and usefulness of employment. The paper contains methodological guidelines on designing calculation algorithms for parameters of the potential vector. The presented new metrisable proposal for the assessment of education and upbringing effects resource favours new challenges in the varying world of economy.

The city of Algiers (Algeria) is a highly seismic area, and therefore, soil liquefaction poses a major concern for structures resting on sandy soil. A campaign of 62 static penetration tests or cone penetrometer tests (CPT) was carried out on a site located in the commune of Dar El Beïda in Algiers. The soil Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) values were assessed, for each borehole, based on the simplified procedure of Seed and Idriss. On the other hand, the geographic information system and geostatistical analysis were used to quantify the risk of soil liquefaction at the studied site. It is worth mentioning that the (LPI) was taken as a regionalized variable. In addition, the experimental variogram was modeled on the basis of a spherical model. Also, the interpolation of the LPI values in the unsampled locations was performed by the Kriging technique using both isotropic and anisotropic models. Kriging standard deviation maps were produced for both cases. The cross-validation showed that the anisotropic model exhibited a better fit for the interpolation of the values of the soil liquefaction potential. The results obtained indicated that a significant part of the soil is liable to liquefy, in particular in the northwestern region of the study area. The findings suggest that there is a proportional relationship between the risk of liquefaction and the increase or decrease in seismic acceleration.

Opis:
Distributions of the gate-dielectric EBG(x, y) and semiconductor-dielectric EBS(x, y) barrier height values have been determined using the photoelectric measurement method. Modified Powell-Berglund method was used to measure barrier height values. Modification of this method consisted in using a focused UV light beam of a small diameter d =0.3 mm. It was found that the EBG(x, y) distribution has a characteristic dome-like shape which corresponds with the independently determined shape of the effective contact potential difference fMS(x, y) distribution. On the other hand, the EBS(x, y) distribution is of a random character. It is shown that the EBG(x, y) distribution determines the shape of the fMS(x, y) distribution. The model of the EBG and EBS barrier height distributions over the gate area has been proposed.

The selected questions related to a potential approach of the operation of a communication system are discussed in the article. The examples of the characteristics of necessary potential redundancy in a function of the probability of successful transmission of messages set are given. They may be used to the required programming of the supervisor and therapeutic system.

The article attempts to present the meaning of processes and managing them in the improvement of the quality management system and in the development of an organization. A connection between the improvement of processes and the improvement of the system of quality management was indicated. The processes were introduced as an element of an organizational potential which is not entirely exploited. Basing on the literature and the results of author’s own studies, the problems encountered while improving the processes in practice were presented. Recommendations for future actions were put forward to enable the organization to take full advantage of the opportunities lying in the improvement of processes.

In this work, we have compared the barrier height measurements carried out using the Powell method with the photoelectric effective contact potential difference (phi MS) measurement results. The photoelectric measurements were performed on the samples that were previously applied in the investigation of the influence of stress on the duration of annealing in nitrogen. This paper shows that the results of barrier height measurement using the Powell method differ significantly from the phi MS measurement results.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwość zastosowania modelu systemu logistycznego, który został opisany w [9] i jego implementacji komputerowej do optymalizacji potencjału obiektów logistycznych dla ustalonego wariantu ich ukształtowania. Model ten został opracowany m.in. na potrzeby optymalizacji statycznej potencjału systemów logistycznych. Sformułowane w tym zakresie zadanie optymalizacyjne umożliwia identyfikację, które spośród rozważanych rozwiązań technicznych powinno być zastosowane w danym systemie logistycznym, jak również jakie powinny być zaangażowane zasoby ludzkie oraz jakie powinno być obciążenie środków technicznych i pracowników. Rozważania przedstawiono na przykładzie obliczeniowym. Opisane w artykule podejście może być zastosowane również m.in. do optymalizacji potencjału kolejowych punktów eksploatacyjnych.
The article presents the possible application of the model of logistics system presented in [9] and its computer implementation to optimize the potential of given technological variant of logistics facility. The model was developed firstly to optimize static potential of the logistics systems. The logistics task solved by logistics facility was formulated to support decision about which technical variant of facility should be introduced into given logistics system. It also allows for identification of necessary human resources and wanted capacity of technical means of transport and staff. Considerations are supported by calculation example. The approach described in the article can also be used to optimize the potential of railway operating points.

The Polish pension system, in the face of the rapid aging of Polish society, may soon turn out to be insolvent. Therefore, remedial measures are necessary to maintain its stability. The article discusses demographic forecasts concerning the Polish population that directly affect the deteriorating situation of the pension system. There are also presented solutions proposed so far to save the system, such as introducing a citizen’s pension or increasing the retirement age. Next, there are presented more comprehensive proposals of systemic reforms, related to stimulating the growth of the working-age population, as an attempt to improve the decreasing potential support ratio.

The main purposes of this paper are to study the direct and inverse spectral problems of the one-dimensional Dirac operators with nonlocal potentials. Based on information about the spectrum of the operator, we find the potential and recover the form of the Dirac system. The methods used allow us to reduce the situation to the one-dimensional case. In accordance with the given assumptions and conditions we consider problems in a specific way. We describe the spectrum, the resolvent, the characteristic function etc. Illustrative examples are also given.

The amount of the operational potential included in the system is a main characteristic of the system operation possibility and profitability. A quantitative analysis of this characteristic should be the source of the information used in operation control of complex technical systems. Unfortunately, the definitions of the operational potential are mostly formulated in a qualitative way and the interpretations of them are different. In this paper, the definitions of the operational potential are presented. The description of each definition and the differences between them are also enclosed. Next, a new definition of the operation potential is formulated. The way of the definition implementation to calculate the amount of the operational potential included in a complex technical system is also described. At the end of the paper the analysis of the amount of the operational potential included in an exemplary real industrial system accomplished using the method presented above can be found.
Podczas fazy eksploatacji następuje zmiana zdolności systemu do funkcjonowania od wartości maksymalnej do wartości granicznej. Zdolność tę określa się jako potencjał użytkowy. Ilość potencjału użytkowego zawartego w systemie technicznym jest podstawową charakterystyką określającą możliwość i opłacalność jego eksploatacji. Analiza ilościowa tej charakterystyki powinna być źródłem informacji wykorzystywanych w sterowaniu eksploatacją złożonych systemów technicznych. Niestety definicje potencjału użytkowego są formułowane w większości na bazie opisu jakościowego. Jednocześnie ich interpretacja u różnych autorów jest odmienna. W pracy przedstawiono definicje potencjału użytkowego spotykane w literaturze, omawiając ich interpretację oraz występujące rozbieżności. Następnie zaproponowano nową definicję potencjału użytkowego wyrażonego w przestrzeni cech systemu oraz podano sposób jej zastosowania do wyliczenia ilości potencjału użytkowego zawartego w złożonym systemie technicznym. W opracowaniu przeprowadzono również analizę ilości potencjału użytkowego zawartego w rzeczywistym systemie technicznym przy zastosowaniu opisanej teorii.

The paper presents a new modeling method of boundary geometry in boundary value-problems by nu-spline curves. To define a smooth boundary geometry both Bezier and B-spline curves are applied. At the segment join points Bezier curves ensure continuity C1, and B-spline curves allow us to maintain continuity C2. However, the curves hinder boundary modeling with corner points. In order to weaken the continuity at segment join points nu-spline curves are proposed. These curves are combined analytically with the Green formula, thus yielding the Parametric Integral Equation System (PIES). To solve the PIES a pseudospectral method is used. The results obtained for the domains with singular corner points are compared with the corresponding non-singular ones as defined by the nu-spline curves.

Path planning is one of the most vital problems in mobile robotics; it falls into general province of planning, however, due to specificity of the subject of mobile robotics, it has emerged as a discipline per se with its own solutions. Among many methods of probabilistic, geometrical and topological nature, the methodology of potential fields introduced by Krogh (1984) and Khatib (1985), based on physical analogies with gravitational or electromagnetic fields, has emerged. We adhere to this methodology, however, contrary to the practice of building the potential on the basis of Coulomb, or gravitational force fields, we apply the novel idea of building the potential function by means of mereological distance over a juxtaposition of grids of fixed diameter, i.e., over a discrete structure. We describe our implementation of the relevant mereological functors in the Player/Stage system as SQL predicates accessible in Player/Stage cooperating with PostgreSQL database. We present also the results of simulations with mobile robots.

In this paper, a modified van der Pol equation is considered as a description of the heart action. This model has a number of interesting properties allowing reconstruction of phenomena observed in physiological experiments as well as in Holter electrocardiographic recordings. Our aim is to study periodic solutions of the modified van der Pol equation and take into consideration the influence of feedback and delay which occur in the normal heart action mode as well as in pathological modes. Usage of certain values for feedback and delay parameters allows simulating the heart action when an accessory conducting pathway is present (Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome).

This paper addresses a predictive control strategy for a particular class of multi-agent formations with a time-varying topology. The goal is to guarantee tracking capabilities with respect to a reference trajectory which is pre-specified for an agent designed as the leader. Then, the remaining agents, designed as followers, track the position and orientation of the leader. In real-time, a predictive control strategy enhanced with the potential field methodology is used in order to derive a feedback control action based only on local information within the group of agents. The main concern is that the interconnections between the agents are time-varying, affecting the neighborhood around each agent. The proposed method exhibits effective performance validated through some illustrative examples.

Celem jego opracowania było znalezienie podstawy i warunków do ustalenia zakresu jednolitego tematycznie opracowania obejmującego obszar interesujących zagadnień dotyczących wybranych aspektów współczesności systemów logistycznych, interdyscyplinarność logistyki z obszarami wiedzy, roli wielowymiarowość w rozwój logistyki.
The variety of types of modern organizations and the perception of the importance of logistics in their functioning also contribute to diversifying the importance and the essence of logistics. Modern logistics can be treated as a specific scope of scientific research and economic practice including planning, implementation and control of the flow processes of material and information goods as well as provision of services in connection with the implementation of these flows. Logistics in surroundings of civil and military organizations, its scientific and interdisciplinary character, needs of practical multi-variability and multidimensionality in social and economic life as well as function of guarantying security of existence and profits to national economy are the contents of this article. The reason for its elaboration was to find the basis and conditions for ascertaining the uniformity scope of elaboration topic concerning selected aspects of logistic systems modernity, its various relations with interdisciplinary branches of knowledge, role of multidimensionality in development of logistics.

In this paper, we studied the behavior of relativistic objects with anisotropic charged matter distribution considering a prescribed form for the gravitational potential Z(x) which depends on an adjustable parameter n. The equation of state presents a quadratic relation between the energy density and the radial pressure. New exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell system are generated. A physical analysis of electromagnetic field indicates that is regular in the origin and well behaved. We show as a variation of the adjustable parameter n causes a modification in the charge density, the radial pressure and the mass of the stellar object.

We consider the problem of boundary control of an elastic system with coupling to a potential equation. The potential equation represents the linearized motions of an incompressible inviscid fluid in a cavity bounded in part by an elastic membrane. Sufficient control is placed on a portion of the elastic membrane to insure that the uncoupled membrane is exactly controllable. The main result is that if the density of the fluid is sufficiently small, then the coupled system is exactly controllable.

Celem tego artykułu jest ukazanie wiodących czynników, jakie decydują o rozwoju transportu kolejowego w kontekście funkcjonowania współczesnego sytemu obronnego państwa oraz zaprezentowanie wpływu transportu kolejowego na wspomniany system. Cel ten został podyktowany koniecznością poszukiwania wspólnych obszarów zainteresowania dotyczących systemu transportu kolejowego oraz obronności państwa, co być może umożliwi lepsze ich przygotowanie w różnych stanach funkcjonowania państwa.
The purpose of this article is to show the main factors determining the development of rail transport, and their impact on the functioning of the modern defense system of the state and to present the impact of rail transport on the aforementioned system. This objective was caused by the necessity to look for common areas of interest regarding the railway transport system and national defense, which may enable better preparation in various states of the state’s functioning.
