Opis:: The paper describes the computer system PANSHIP for analysis of flow around the ship hull moving with constant velocity in calm water, including the effects of free surface and propeller operation. This system calculates the potential flow using the discrete distribution of Rankine sources on the hull. Viscous flow is computed using the integral method in the bow section and Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes equation (RANS) in the stern section of the ship hull. Results of this analysis may be directly used in ship hull design and they may also serve as input for calculation of the unsteady flow phenomena accompanying propeller operation in the non-uniform velocity field generated by the hull. PANSHIP has been verified experimentally and it forms a useful tool available for ship designers and for marine hydrodynamicists.

Opis:: The paper contains a formal description of ship propulsion systems operation process. The model of the process is presented in the form of two-dimensional stochastic process of which coordinates are semi-Markov processes of the final states set. The former process describes the process of changes in technical states of ship propulsion systems, the latter - the process of changes in their operating states. A monovariate model of ship propulsion systems operation process has also been proposed.
Podano opis formalny procesu eksploatacji układów napędowych statków. Model tego procesu przedstawiono w formie dwuwymiarowego procesu, którego współrzędnymi są procesy semi-Markowa o skończonych zbiorach stanów. Jeden z tych procesów jest procesem zmian stanów technicznych układów napędowych a drugi - procesem zmian ich stanów eksploatacyjnych. Zaproponowano także jednowymiarowy model procesu eksploatacji układów napędowych statków.

Opis:: Przedstawiono połączenie wyników dotyczących niezawodności systemów z uwzględnieniem ich procesów eksploatacji i wyników dotyczących granicznych funkcji niezawodności systemów równoległo-szeregowych. Zastosowanie asymptotycznego podejścia do oceny niezawodności i gotowości wielostanowego systemu równoległo-szeregowego w zmiennych warunkach eksploatacyjnych zostało zaprezentowane na przykładzie stoczniowego systemu transportu linowego.
The paper presents the results on systems' reliability related to their operation processes and the results on limit reliability functions of parallel-series systems. The results of the asymptotic approach to the evaluation of multi-state parallel-series system reliability and availability are presented. Finally, their application to the ship-rope transportation system evaluation is given.

Opis:: Zmiany gospodarcze oraz restrukturyzacja polskiego rolnictwa wymusiły zanik funkcjonowania nieefektywnego systemu naprawczego działającego do 1990 roku. Obecnie daje się zauważyć brak poprawnie funkcjonującego systemu odnowy maszyn spełniającego główne dyrektywy UE w zakresie wymagań proekologicznych. W artykule przedstawiono założenia organizacyjne funkcjonowania takiego systemu. Zaprezentowana koncepcja systemu uwzględnia główne elementy podsystemu użytkowania i odnowy eksploatowanych maszyn i urządzeń.
Economic changes and Polish agriculture restructuring extorted disappearance of inefficient repair system working since 1990. Currently, we observe lack of correctly functioning machinery refurbishment system, which would satisfy main EU directives as regards pro-ecological requirements. The article presents organizational guidelines for functioning of a system of this type. Presented system concept takes into account main elements of usage subsystem and refurbishment of operated machines and equipment.

Opis:: A multi-state approach to defining basic notions of the system safety analysis is proposed. A system safety function and a system risk function are defined. A basic safety structure of a multi-state series system of components with degrading safety states is defined. For this system the multi-state safety function is determined. The proposed approach is applied to the evaluation of a safety function, a risk function and other safety characteristics of a ship system composed of a number of subsystems having an essential influence on the ship safety. Further, a semi-Markov process for the considered system operation modelling is applied. The paper also offers a general approach to the solution of a practically important problem of linking the multi-state system safety model and its operation process model. Finally, the proposed general approach is applied to the preliminary evaluation of a safety function, a risk function and other safety characteristics of a ship system with varying in time its structure and safety characteristics of the subsystems it is composed of.

Opis:: The operation process of the complex industrial system is considered and its operation states are introduced. The semi-markov process is used to construct a general probabilistic model of the considered complex industrial system operation process. To build this model the vector of probabilities of the system operation process initials operation states, the matrix of probabilities of the system operation process transitions between the operation states, the matrix of conditional distribution functions and the matrix of conditional density functions of the system operation process conditional sojourn times in the operation states are defined. To describe the system operation process conditional sojourn times in the particular operation states the uniform distribution, the triangle distribution, the double trapezium distribution, the exponential distribution, the Weibull distribution and the normal distribution are suggested. Under these all assumptions from the constructed general model the main characteristics of the system operation process are find. The mean values of the system operation process conditional sojourn times in particular operation states having these distributions are calculated. Moreover, the unconditional distribution functions of the system operation process unconditional sojourn times in the particular operation states, the mean values of the system operation process unconditional sojourn times in the particular operation states, the limit values of the transient probabilities of the system operation process at the particular operation states and the mean values of the system operation process total sojourn times in the particular operation states are determined.

The study presents the method of determining the time concerning the operation of an aiming head in the operation system. The method is based on the analysis of the values of diagnostic parameters which were registered during the operation of the aiming head. The method is of universal character. It can be used for a wide range of technical systems whose condition is described on the basis of analyzing the values of diagnostic parameters.

Opis:: In the paper an analytical model of port transportation systems environment and infrastructure influence on their operation processes is constructed and presented in an example of shipyard rope transportation systems in Naval Shipyard in Gdynia. A general semi-markov model of a system operation process is proposed and the methods of its parameters statistical identification are presented. Further, the shipyard rope transportation system and the ship rope elevator operation processes are analyzed and their operation states are defined. A preliminary collection of statistical data necessary to the ship transportation systems’ operation processes identification is included.

Opis:: The paper contains an analysis of the operational process of heat supply system with taking into consideration its reliability. The specific character of the operation of heat-supply systems has been considered in this work. In the process of the exploitation of heat-supply systems there have been distinguished five operational states, assuming as a criterion of the level of indoor temperature decrease in residential rooms. The method of modelling the operational reliability of heat-supply systems is worked out. The methodology of determining the overall index of heat-supply system reliability has been presented. The measure of heat-supply system reliability has been assumed as the scale/quantity of inadequate supply of heat power at a given state. Calculations have been carried out regarding the changeability of exterior conditions for one of the groups of customers – residential users. On the basis of the operational data for the heat supply system with two heat sources shortage quantities of heat power and the probability of their occurrence have been calculated as an application of this methodology.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono system oceny stanu technicznego transformatorów TrafoGrade, który opracowano w firmie Energo-Complex i wdrożono w praktyce. Omówiono podstawy tworzenia części technicznej oceny transformatorów, która składa się z trzech etapów ocen grupowych oraz etapu końcowej oceny transformatora. Przedstawiono zasady określania znaczenia transformatorów w sieci elektroenergetycznej. Podano przykłady zastosowania systemu TrafoGrade w praktyce eksploatacyjnej oraz wnioski wypływające z jego użycia dla określonej populacji transformatorów.
The paper presents the TrafoGrade system for assessment of transformer technical condition, designed by Energo-Complex and implemented into operation. The basics for preparing the technical part of assessment consisting of three stages of group grades and the final stage of transformer assessment are given. There are also described the principles of determining the transformer importance in the system. Some examples of application of TrafoGrade to operation conditions and the conclusions resulting from its use for a determined population of transformers are presented.

Opis:: A lightering operation is a type of Ship-To-Ship (STS) operation where two ships are together in open waters and transfer the cargo e.g. crude oil, LNG. High skills and experience are required by the human operators as no relevant equipment for determining the relative speeds and distances with sufficient accuracies has been implemented. The officer in charge of an STS lightering takes the decision on adequate maneuvering orders based on predominantly visual observations during the final approach. Landing on all fenders simultaneously is an objective in order to minimize ship-fender contact forces, but this is rather difficult to achieve in practice even in calm sea due to the effect of hydrodynamic interaction when the ships are closing in. Furthermore, currents that are present in the lightering zone add to the operational complexity. A field measurement experiment has been carried out with a Velocity Information GPS (VI-GPS) system installed onboard a ferry approaching port for berthing which is similar to an STS lightering. The paper proposes to apply VI-GPS as input sensor to a decision-support and guidance system aiming to provide accurate velocity information to the officer in charge of an STS operation. It is argued that DOP of VI-GPS is related to the velocity error.

Opis:: This paper deals with selected problems connected with transport means operation quality. Basic concepts concerning the problems of quality have been defined, and general characteristics of the elaborated methodology have been made. Description of rules on the basis of which the method was elaborated, has been presented. An algorithm of mathematical model determination has been created and a model for quality assessment of the system operation has been built. This model is supposed to serve as a general abstract form for operation quality assessment of a wide class of real transport systems different in terms of their features, structure and operation. The further part of the paper deals with possibilities of quality control in order to provide the desired level of the transport system operation quality which will be an effect of the carried out research, especially, the results, obtained on the basis of the proposed assessment method. The presented methodology can be found to be a universal tool for diagnostic, prognostic processes, and above all, for optimization and rational control ofcomplex systems of technical object using, especially transport ones through assessment of their states, determined on the basis of changes of significant features characteristic for the system.
