Opis:
Numerical evaluation of the optimal nonlinear robust control requires estimating the impact of parameter uncertainties on the system output. The main goal of the paper is to propose a method for estimating the norm of an output trajectory deviation from the nominal trajectory for nonlinear uncertain, discrete-time systems. The measure of the deviation allows us to evaluate the robustness of any designed controller. The first part of the paper concerns uncertainty modelling for nonlinear systems given in the state space dependent form. The method for numerical estimation of the maximal norm of the output trajectory deviation with applications to robust control synthesis is proposed based on the introduced three-term additive uncertainty model. Theoretical deliberations are complemented with a numerical, water-tank system example.

Opis:
This paper develops the theory of solution tubes to differential inclusions (uncertain systems) within a prescribed collection of sets. The notion is defined as a minimal invariant tube with values in the collection. Under certain requirements for the collection we prove existence and Lipschitz-like stability of the solution tubes. The theory is relevant to problems of systems estimation in the context of control or differential games.

Opis:
Integral sliding mode design is considered for a class of uncertain systems in the presence of mismatched uncertainties in both state and input matrices, as well as norm-bounded nonlinearities and external disturbances. A sufficient condition for the robust stability of the sliding manifold is derived by means of linear matrix inequalities. The initial existence of the sliding mode is guaranteed by the proposed control law. The improvement of the proposed control scheme performances, such as chattering elimination and estimation of norm bounds of uncertainties, is then considered with the application of an adaptive fuzzy integral sliding mode control law. The validity and efficiency of the proposed approaches are investigated through a sixth order uncertain mechanical system.

Some Kharitonov-like robust Hurwitz stability criteria are established for a class of complex polynomial families with nonlinearly correlated perturbations. These results are extended to the polynomial matrix case and non-interval D-stability case. Applications of these results in testing of robust strict positive realness of real and complex interval transfer function families are also presented.

This investigation is concerned with robust analysis and control of uncertain nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainties. In contrast to the methodologies from the field of linear parameter varying systems, which employ convex structures of the state space representation in order to perform analysis and design, the proposed approach makes use of a polytopic form of a generalisation of the characteristic polynomial, which proves to outperform former results on the subject. Moreover, the derived conditions have the advantage of being cast as linear matrix inequalities under mild assumptions.

This paper deals with the finite-time stabilization problem for a class of uncertain disturbed systems using linear robust control. The proposed algorithm is designed to provide the robustness of a linear feedback control scheme such that system trajectories arrive at a small-size attractive set around an unstable equilibrium in a finite time. To this end, an optimization problem with a linear matrix inequality constraint is presented. This means that the effects of external disturbances, as well as matched and mismatched uncertain dynamics, can be significantly reduced. Finally, the performance of the suggested closed-loop control strategies is shown by the trajectory tracking of an unmanned aerial vehicle flight.

Opis:
This paper discusses a discrete-time queueing system with starting failures in which an arriving customer follows three different strategies. Two of them correspond to the LCFS (Last Come First Served) discipline, in which displacements or expulsions of customers occur. The third strategy acts as a signal, that is, it becomes a negative customer. Also examined is the possibility of failures at each service commencement epoch. We carry out a thorough study of the model, deriving analytical results for the stationary distribution. We obtain the generating functions of the number of customers in the queue and in the system. The generating functions of the busy period as well as the sojourn times of a customer at the server, in the queue and in the system, are also provided. We present the main performance measures of the model. The versatility of this model allows us to mention several special cases of interest. Finally, we prove the convergence to the continuous-time counterpart and give some numerical results that show the behavior of some performance measures with respect to the most significant parameters of the system.
