Opis:: The subject of the studies is the evaluation of the operation of a production system after modernization. The analysed case concerns the modernization forced by the end of the product lifetime. The proposed methodology is that of a multicriterial evaluation of the system operation after modernization. The evaluation criteria are selected TPM indices: availability of machinery and equipment, production process capacity, product quality and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The additional criteria are reliability indices MTBF and MTTR of studied production lines and the MTTR of the most unreliable equipment in each analysed line. A yearly monitoring of production process was proposed for obtaining the statistical credibility of the evaluation results. Additionally, a fuzzy indicator of acceptability of the modernization assessment was proposed. The paper presents the results of studies of the system for production of zinc concentrate from post-production waste. The obtained values of OEE, MTBF and MTTR indicators for the three tested lines make it possible to state that the modernization carried out is acceptable.

Opis:: A fuel delivery method that patented by authors realised by numerical and natural experiments. The traditional system is added a lock organ before an injector. The injector cavity is connected with the force main only for the time of injecting fuel. After a valve closing the injector cavity is connected with the cavity of low pressure. When cutting off at the end of the working plunger stroke the force main is discharging. In a delivery high-pressure the accumulation of energy flow takes place, it increases speed growing of pressure in the injection beginning. The valve closing is accompanied by fast pressure decrease in the end of injection process. Such feeder of fuel allows dividing forcing and dosing out processes. It improves, in comparison with traditional, both adaptive and power properties of system. Numerical experiments confirm working capacity of the modernised fuel feed system. Defined influence of its basic constructive and adjusting parameters on indicators of process of fuel delivery is presented. The offered system allows a flexible adjustment of the cycle fuel feed when changing a high speed regime as well as providing for a set speed Diesel characteristic and a versatile regulation if the cycle feed at Diesel start. The numerical experiments confirm the efficiency of the experimental system of fuel feed.

Opis:: Modernizacja systemów kanalizacyjnych wymaga uwzględnienia różnych wariantów rozwiązań. Dotychczas są one oceniane zazwyczaj według jednego kryterium, najczęściej ekonomicznego. Pełna ocena takich zamierzeń wymaga natomiast uwzględnienia także kryteriów pozaekonomicznych, na przykład społecznych i niezawodnościowych. Ocenę taką umożliwia między innymi metoda AHP (Analitical Hierarchy Process), w której mogą być ujęte rozmaite kryteria mierzalne i niemierzalne, wartościowane względem siebie. W artykule przedstawiono ogólne zasady stosowania metody AHP oraz przykład jej zastosowania do wyboru optymalnego wariantu modernizacji systemu kanalizacyjnego dla rzeczywistej zlewni.
In the paper, we demonstrate the example of the use of Analytic Hierachy Process (AHP) for searching an optimal solution of an urban sewerage system modernization. The principles of the AHP method and its applicability for environmental projects are presented. The fi ve following criteria of solution assessment were taken into consideration: economic, ecological, reliability, social and technical. The aim of modernization of the sewerage system was reducing environmental impact due to CSO events, hydraulic relief of conduits and in consequence reducing of fl ooding on urban catchment. Four alternatives of meeting this aim were analysed: one storage tank prior to the CSO, eight storage tanks located on the catchment, one storage tank on the CSO channel, dispersed retention devices located on the sub-catchments. The alternative no.1 was found as the optimal solution of the problem.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z wpływem przeprowadzonej modernizacji sytemu retencyjno-dozującego (kolektora) "Olza" na jakość wód rzeki Odry, Olzy i Leśnicy. Silnie zanieczyszczone jonami chlorkowymi, siarczanowymi wody kopalniane odprowadzane z kopalń południowo-zachodniej części Górnośląskiego Zagłębia Węglowego (GZW), za pośrednictwem kolektora, wywierają niekorzystny wpływ na ekosystem rzeczny. Szczególnie groźne są silne wahania stężeń jonów chlorkowych, które zaburzają równowagę biologiczną eko-systemu, narażając na wyginięcie różne gatunki roślin i zwierząt. Uruchomienie bezpośredniego odprowadzania wód kopalnianych do rzeki Odry za pomocą systemu zrzutowego zainstalowanego w dnie rzeki zapewniło odpowiednie wymieszanie wód kopalnianych z jej wodami na krótkim 100-metrowym odcinku. System wyposażony jest w 51 dysz rozmieszczonych między prawym i lewym brzegiem rzeki. Takie rozwiązanie pozwoliło uniknąć silnych wahań stężeń, przede wszystkim jonów chlorkowych, i uchroniło florę i faunę rzeki Odry przed wyniszczeniem. Uruchomienie zmodernizowanego odcinka kolektora wyeliminowało również konieczność odprowadzania wód kopalnianych do Odry za pośrednictwem rzek Leśnicy i Olzy. Przyczyniło się to do znaczącej poprawy jakości wód tych rzek i powolnego odbudowania się ich ekosystemu.
This article treats about the influence of dropping system "Olza" modernization on the Odra, Lesnica and Olza rivers ecosystem. Both, Leśnica and Olza were the most jeopardize ones, taking into consideration the fact that the mine waters were directly thrown to their waters. Strongly contaminated, mostly with chlorides and sulphates, mine waters, transported through the interceptor-sewer, managed to destroy the whole rivers ecosystem. Huge chloride fluctuations were the cause of biological balance dysfunction. Most of animals and plants species were destroyed. The brake through came after the new dropping system was activated. The new system was placed in the bottom of Odra river and was equipped with 51 nozzles settled down between two river banks. The new system allowed to eliminate the contamination of the Leśnica and Olza rivers and prevented their flora and fauna from total distraction. It also allowed to mix the mine and the river waters just after the drop. It led to the elimination of huge chloride fluctuation in the Odra river and had a huge impact on its quality improvement.

Opis:: Modern integrated information and telecommunication systems are upgraded on a continuous basis. Such systems contain both new and old components. The approaches to developing individual components of access control systems are different in the majority of cases. As a rule, modernization of outdated but efficient systems that have been operating without any failures for long periods of time is economically unfeasible. Such an approach requires that different subsystems function based on shared data. This necessitates the coordination of various access control systems in order to ensure proper information security levels. This article examines how joint functioning of various versions of access control systems deployed in IT and telecommunication spheres may be achieved at the stage of their modernization. Potential ways in which information flows may bypass the security policies of one of the access control systems concerned are determined. The authors discuss traditional access control models. For role-based and thematic access control models, specific hypotheses are formulated to comply with security policies when different versions of access control systems work together. The structure of the model assuming that different versions of access control systems operate jointly has been developed. Based on the model, the necessary and sufficient conditions are determined under which unauthorized information flows are prevented. The security theorem for the joint functioning of different versions of access control systems is presented and proved. The results of the study showed that the methodological basis for coordinating access control models applicable to information and telecommunication systems undergoing modernization consists in observing, separately, the equality of information flows between shared objects in each of the versions of the access control systems. The approaches developed in this article can be extended to combined access control systems.

Opis:: This article concerns the issue of modernization of the manufacturing system of national enterprises by implementing modern information technologies. The analysis of the need for the industrial transformation of Ukraine at the macro level has been conducted. The role of modernization of the manufacturing structure of the enterprise is determined. Changes in technology have significant influence on the transformation of enterprise management system. The role of modern information systems in management of technological processes is analyzed. Effective Enterprise Management System (EMS) shall harmoniously combine diverse targeted components into the new competitive socioeconomic system. Changes in areas of EMS improvement during the process of formation of information infrastructure are shown in this research. MES system is a key element of the overall enterprise information structure; it is able to meet the challenges of the manufacturing sphere. The existing barriers to the development of production systems for national enterprises are also analyzed and summarized.

Opis:: Podczas modernizacji linii kolejowych w Polsce należy wziąć pod uwagę rodzaj systemu prowadzenia pociągów, który będzie najbardziej odpowiedni dla danego odcinka linii kolejowej. W artykule zaprezentowano pewną koncepcję oceny różnych wariantów systemów prowadzenia pociągów. Studia wykonalności nie zawsze potrafią odpowiedzieć na pytanie, jaki system najlepiej zastosować. Przedstawiona metoda uwzględnia punkty widzenia zarówno użytkownika transportu kolejowego, jak i zarządcy infrastruktury. Pozwala wybrać system najbardziej dopasowany do oczekiwań każdej strony.
During a modernization of railroads in Poland, it is necessary to consider which train system will be the most suitable for the part of a railroad. The article presents a concept of assessment of various variants of rail control traffic system. Feasibility studies does not always answer the question which system is the best to be used. The presented method takes into account views of both the transport user and the infrastructure manager. It allows to choose the system that suits best to the expectations of each side.

Opis:: The article presents information on changes to the mine shaft hoist in the cage compartment of the “Sobieski III” shaft of Tauron Wydobycie S.A. A separate control unit based on MENTOR thyristor converters was installed in the excitation system of the drive motor and control generators, which allowed the replacement of systems that were difficult to operate, e.g. electromechanical amplifier (amplidyne) and the machine exciter of the hoist motor. Additionally, in order to stabilize the speed (especially during revision works in the shaft), the system of setting speed levels of the hoisting machine has been modified. Speed adjustment is realized by a follow-up speed control system built on the basis of a digitally controlled MENTOR reverse converter.

The article discusses the project of modernization of the JAWA 638 motorcycle brake system. This reconstruction consists in processing the drum-jaw braking system with mechanical forcing on the hydraulically controlled disc brake. A significant restriction of modernization is to preserve the possibility of restoring the original, historic, state of the motorcycle.

Opis:: Lotnictwo wojskowe pełni niezwykle ważną rolę we współczesnych konfliktach zbrojnych. Przenosi walkę w trzeci wymiar w głąb ugrupowania przeciwnika poprzez szybki przerzut wojsk, pełniąc rolę ruchomej artylerii, czy odwodów przeciwpancernych. Złożoność zadań implikuje potrzebę budowy wyposażenia pokładowego wspierającego załogę dzięki wysokiej automatyzacji i inteligencji działania. Przejawem tego jest, stanowiący środowisko pracy pilota/załogi, nowoczesny system dialogowy, który prezentuje tylko minimum niezbędnych informacji dostosowanych do specyfiki realizowanego zadania. Nowoczesność to także brak konieczności przeniesienia wzroku na tablicę przyrządów dla obserwacji informacji o parametrach lotu oraz zminimalizowanie potrzeby odrywania rąk od organów sterowania lotem do użycia systemów pokładowych, w tym uzbrojenia i wykrywania, zarządzania systemami pilotażowo nawigacyjnymi, łączności radiowej czy ochrony własnej. W artykule omówiono wyniki wstępnych analiz prac związanych z tym tematem, a prowadzonych w ramach modernizacji śmigłowców Mi-8/17/24 i W-3PL „Głuszec”. Wdrożona przez Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych (ITWL) modyfikacja wyposażenia statków powietrznych obejmuje między innymi „Glass Cockpit”, zintegrowany system awioniczny, zintegrowany system łączności, które funkcjonalnie odpowiadają najnowszym rozwiązaniom technologicznym i mogą być użyte zarówno do modyfikacji śmigłowców lub samolotów lotnictwa wojskowego.
In the paper there are presented modern, electronically integrated avionics systems, manufactured in the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) for Polish military airplanes and helicopters. The presented systems reflect the results of work conducted in the AFIT in the process of modernization of selected airplanes and helicopters currently operated by the Polish Air Force. In the paper there is presented the Integrated Avionics System for W-3PL "Gluszec" helicopter and a proposal of such an integrated system for the Mi-17/Mi-24 family helicopters.
