Artykuł przedstawia metody klasyfikowania pakietów w kontekście integrowania sieci z protokołem IPv6 i IPv4. IPv6 wprowadza pewne dodatkowe udogodnienia, jak pole flow label w nagłówku pakietu IP, ale realizacja systemu QoS w sieci IPv6 oparta jest na zasadach stosowanych w sieciach IPv4. Szczególnie istotnym staje się wybór miejsca klasyfikowania pakietów i mechanizmu integracji sieci IPv4 z siecią IPv6. Rozważania zawarte w artykule dotyczą realizacji QoS przy zastosowaniu podwójnego stosu, tunelowania i translacji protokołów.
The article presents methods of classifying packets in the context of integrating the net with IPv6 and IPv4 protocols. IPv6 introduces some additional features (like flow label field in the packet header) and the current support for QoS mechanisms in IPv6 implementations approaches the corresponding QoS support in IPv4. The choice of the place of classifying packets and the mechanism of integrating the IPv4 and IPv6 networks are particularly important. QoS implementations with the use of dual-stack, tunneling and translation protocols are discussed.

The IP QoS System is based on next generation networks (NGN) and differentiated services (DiffServ) architectures. Its main part is a signaling system, which allows to send a request from a user to the system for establishing new connection with predefined quality of service assurance. In this paper we present trial results of the proposed signalling system. The experiments were performed to measure setup delay utilizing artificial call generator/analyzer. To obtain results we assumed different distributions of interarrival and call holding times based on the literature. The results show that the setup delay strongly depends on access time to network devices, however also on the assumed call holding time models.

For the last decades huge efforts of telecommunication, Internet and media organizations have been focusing on creating standards and implementing one common network delivering multimedia services - Next Generation Network. One of the technologies which are very likely to be used in NGN transport layer is ASON/GMPLS optical network. The implementation of ASON/GMPLS technology using open source software and its results are the subject of this paper. The ASON/GMPLS architecture and its relation to the proposed ITU-T NGN architecture are described. The concept, functional structure and communication among architecture elements as well as the implementation of laboratory testbed are presented. The results of functional tests confirming proper software and testbed operation are stated.

This paper focuses on factors affecting the dimensioning of Short Message Service (SMS) systems in mobile communications networks. Problems associated with Quality of Service (QoS) in modern communications networks in general are described, along with the main parameters that define QoS in SMS systems. The functionality of the SMS in terms of European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) standards is then explained. The creation of a queuing model is described for an SMS system which is based on ETSI documentation and will be analysed in calculations. The parameter completion rate plays an important role in SMS. Practical aspects of the End-to-End (E2E) delivery time for SMS systems are also discussed. The approach suggested in this paper and the insights gained in the course of this work can be of valuable practical use in the planning and analysis of real SMS systems.

The use of Multi Agents Systems (MAS), Cloud Computing (CC) and Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) in e-commerce has increased in recent years. The purpose of these systems is to enable users of electronic markets to make transactions in the best conditions and to help them in their decisions. The design and implementation is often characterized by the constant manipulation of information, many of which are imperfect. The use of the multi-agent paradigm for the realization of these systems implies the need to integrate mechanisms that take into account the processing of fuzzy information. This makes it necessary to design multi-agent systems (MAS) with fuzzy characteristics. For the modeling and realization of this system, we chose to use the FMAS model. This paper deals with the presentation of the use of the Fuzzy MAS model for the development of a management and decision support application in a virtual market with high availability. After the presentation of the system to be realized in the first section, we describe in the second section the application of the model FMAS for the design and the realization of this system. We then specify the JADE implementation platform and how the fuzzy agents of our model (Expert, Choice and Query) can be implemented using this platform.

With the rapid evolution of the distributed computing world in the last few years, the amount of data created and processed has fast increased to petabytes or even exabytes scale. Such huge data sets need data-intensive computing applications and impose performance requirements to the infrastructures that support them, such as high scalability, storage, fault tolerance but also efficient scheduling algorithms. This paper focuses on providing a hybrid scheduling algorithm for many task computing that addresses big data environments with few penalties, taking into consideration the deadlines and satisfying a data dependent task model. The hybrid solution consists of several heuristics and algorithms (min-min, min-max and earliest deadline first) combined in order to provide a scheduling algorithm that matches our problem. The experimental results are conducted by simulation and prove that the proposed hybrid algorithm behaves very well in terms of meeting deadlines.

In this paper, a general framework for modelling stochastic service curves for communication networks is presented. It connects with each other two approaches to the traffic analysis and performance evaluation of communication systems, namely, the one which is called a deterministic network calculus with its stochastic counterpart. Thereby, it enables to treat any communication traffic in a consistent way. Further, as we show here, it enables also achieving new results. Derivation of the above model is presented in details in this paper. Finally, some hints are given how the method presented in this article could be applied in maritime telecommunications area.

IP scheduled throughput defined according to 3GPP TS 36.314 reflects user throughput regardless of traffic characteristics, and therefore has become one of the most important indicators for monitoring Quality of Service (QoS) of the end user in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN). However, networks built on a distributed architecture make the above definition impossible to be applied directly due to the implementation challenges. This paper gives an overview of the classical Long Term Evolution (LTE) architecture as opposed to Dual Connectivity (DC) topology and focuses on a novel method of solving the calculation issue with the IP scheduled throughput measurement in edge computing environment. Experimental results show a good agreement with the real end user perception.
