This paper present the results of studies on ultra fine-crystalline silver bromide suspensions, which were stabilized by gelatin and excess of bromide ions. Relation between dosing rate of reactants to size of obtained silver bromide crystals was investigated. Granulometric properties obtained nanocrystals were studied by turbidity method and by technique of Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). Additionally, a photomicrograph of suspension using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was performed.

Opis:
One of the main aspects of logic synthesis dedicated to FPGA is the problem of technology mapping, which is directly associated with the logic decomposition technique. This paper focuses on using configurable properties of CLBs in the process of logic decomposition and technology mapping. A novel theory and a set of efficient techniques for logic decomposition based on a BDD are proposed. The paper shows that logic optimization can be efficiently carried out by using multiple decomposition. The essence of the proposed synthesis method is multiple cutting of a BDD. A new diagram form called an SMTBDD is proposed. Moreover, techniques that allow finding the best technology mapping oriented to configurability of CLBs are presented. In the experimental section, the presented method (MultiDec) is compared with academic and commercial tools. The experimental results show that the proposed technology mapping strategy leads to good results in terms of the number of CLBs.

So far, numerous studies have been published on the selection of appropriate maintenance tactics based on some factors affecting them such as time, cost, and risk. This paper aims to develop the TRIZ contradiction matrix by explaining the dimensions and components of each of the following Reactive maintenance tactics. The related findings of previous studies were analyzed by adopting “Rousseau and Sandoski” seven-step method to identify and extract the relationships between TRIZ principles and Reactive maintenance tactics. Thereafter, 5 Reactive maintenance tactics were replaced TRIZ’s 40 principles in the TRIZ contradiction matrix. Finally, the ANP method were used to extract and prioritize the appropriate Reactive maintenance tactics. The proposed matrix in this research was used in the desalination section of one of the oil companies to select on the appropriate Reactive maintenance tactics. The results of this research is useful for managers and maintenance specialists of units in making decisions to provide appropriate Reactive maintenance tactics for the desired equipment.

Opis:
The highlight model is widely used as a simple and convenient method in the radar field but its accuracy is not high. Based on the traditional highlight model, the algorithm has been improved to address the acoustic scattering problems of underwater vehicles with more complex line shapes. The basic idea is to partition the model into micro-bodies to calculate the scattered sound pressure, consider the phase interference of each part, and then synthesise the scattered sound pressure to approximate the target’s actual shape. A computational model of the wedge-shaped convex structure on the back of the underwater vehicles is developed using a highlight model of a trapezoidal plate. The results of the calculations using the highlight model approach are consistent with those of the planar element method. Utilising the modified highlight model method, the accuracy of acoustic scattering characteristics calculations for the stern and overall structures of underwater vehicles has proven satisfactory. Finally, fast acoustic scattering prediction software is developed for underwater vehicles, enabling the calculation of the acoustic scattering characteristics for individual structures, combined structures, and coated silent tiles. This software provides algorithmic support for the fast prediction of the acoustic stealth performance of underwater vehicles.

Związek YBa2Cu3O7-x nazywany jest też YBCO lub Y-123 ze względu na skład stechiometryczny. Należy on do najważniejszych materiałów ceramicznych o właściwościach nadprzewodzących. W artykule przedstawiono różne techniki otrzymania YBa2Cu3O7-x. Szczególny nacisk położono na zobrazowanie metod syntezy w fazie stałej i w plazmie oraz na scharakteryzowanie ich zalet i wad.
This paper is a review and continuation series of articles on ceramic high-temperature superconductors with particular attention to the superconductor family of cuprates – YBa2Cu3O7-x. The YBa2Cu3O7-x compound, called also YBCO or Y-123 on account of stoichiometric composition, is one of the most important superconducting materials. In this paper, different methods useful for obtain YBa2Cu3O7-x powder have been presented. Particular emphasis was placed on method of synthesis in solid state and plasma and characterize their merits and flaws.

Praca dotyczy syntezy komparatorów binarnych w strukturach CPLD/FPGA. Do budowy komparatorów wykorzystano struktury hierarchiczne i równoległo-szeregowe metody syntezy. Badania eksperymentalne wykonano dla komparatorów 128-bitowych oraz 256-bitowych w środowisku Quartus II firmy Altera. Wybrane parametry porównano z wynikami uzyskanymi za pomocą funkcji lpm_compare. Dla komparatorów 128-bitowych uzyskano zmniejszenie kosztu realizacji o 13% oraz zmniejszenie ich maksymalnego czasu propagacji do 38%. W przypadku komparatorów 256-bitowych uzyskano zmniejszenie kosztu realizacji o 19% oraz zmniejszenie ich maksymalnego czasu propagacji do 54%.
The paper deals with the problem of a binary comparator synthesis in CPLD/FPGA structures. The comparators were built with the usage of the Verilog language and the Quartus II graphics editor [10]. Section 1 describes the notion of a digital comparator, its basic usage [1-4] and research directions [6-10]. Section 2 presents the general hierarchical structure of the comparator (Fig. 1). Section 3 describes the parallel-serial method of the comparator synthesis [10]. This method was used in the first level comparator synthesis in hierarchical structures of 128-bit and 256-bit comparators. Section 4 presents the results of experimental research. The comparators were built and tested in the Altera Quartus II environment. In the experimental investigations, hierarchical comparators (128-bit and 256-bit) were compared with the comparators (128_lpm and 256_lpm) built with the direct usage of the lpm_compare library function of the Quartus II package. The research was conducted on two CPLD families (MAX II and MAX V) and on four FPGA families (Cyclone III, Arria II GX, Arria V GZ and Stratix III). Two parameters, the implementation cost and the maximum propagation delay, were compared. For 128-bit comparators, the implementation cost was reduced by 13% and the maximum propagation delay was reduced up to 38% (depending on the family of FPGA structures). For 256-bit comparators, the implementation cost was reduced by 19% and the maximum propagation delay was reduced up to 54% (depending on the family of FPGA structures).

Tetrazene [1-(5-tetrazolyl)-4-guanyltetrazene hydrate] is widely used in ordnance systems as a sensitizer of primer compositions, for use in both percussion and stab applications. It can be synthesized by reacting aminoguanidinium bicarbonate (AGB) with sodium nitrite (NaNO2) in the presence of acetic acid. However, little is known about its optimal synthesis parameters in the manufacturing process. In this study, Taguchi's experimental design method was used to further improve the yield of tetrazene. Under the condition that the molar ratio of AGB to NaNO2 was fixed at 1.0:1.2, a L9(33) orthogonal array with three control factors and three levels for each control factor was used to design nine experimental conditions. The experimental data were transformed into a signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio to analyze and evaluate the experimental conditions of the optimal parameter combination for the maximum yield of tetrazene. Verification of the results indicated that the optimal synthesis parameters were as follows: pH value of AGB solution was 5.0, reaction temperature was 35 °C and reaction time was 6 h; the maximum yield of tetrazene could reach 83.7%. Furthermore, the synthesized tetrazene was identified and characterized by elemental analysis (EA), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), optical microscopy (OM),particle size distribution analysis (PSDA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and its impact sensitivity was determined using a BAM Fallhammer apparatus and the Bruceton analysis method.

In this paper, an Fe-Al based composite reinforced with ultra-fine Al2O3 oxides was obtained through sintering of aluminium, iron and mullite ceramic powders using self-propagated high temperature synthesis (SHS). The powder mixture with a 50%wt. content of the ceramic reinforcement was cold pressed and subsequently subjected to the sintering process in vacuum at 1200◦C for 25 minutes under external loading of 25 kN. The complex microstructure of the Fe-Al matrix reinforced with ultra-fine Al2O3 oxides was found to be desired in high temperature applications since only 3% of the relative weight gain was observed after 100 hours of annealing at 900◦C.

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) ceramic materials are consi-dered as one of the most promising implant materials in bone surgery and in dentistry. They exhibit unique biocompatibility, bioactivity, and osteoconductivity, which are the most desirable biomaterial features. However, HAp itself is brittle, has low strength, high degree of crystallinity and low solubility at physiological pH. Doping synthetic HAp with metal ions plays an important role in improving its structural and physico--chemical properties. HAp doped with niobium ions has not been widely investigated so far. However, the results of studies available in the literature show that the synthesized CaO-P2O5-Nb2O5 compounds still show good biocompatibility, very low cytotoxicity and, additionally, they stimulate osteoblast proliferation. Therefore, this study is dedicated to the niobium--doped HAp ceramics obtained by two methods: mechano-chemical synthesis and sol-gel method. Bioceramics chemical composition, morphology, and structure were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy imaging, BET method, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results indicate that nanoceramics of non-stoichiometric HAp with a clear Ca deficiency on the nanograin surface were obtained. Moreover, it has been observed that the presence of Nb dopants and the synthesis method directly affect unit cell parameters, crystallinity degree, crystallites size, porosity and distribution of niobium in the grain structure. Mechano-chemical synthesis has allowed effective niobium incorporation into the HAp structure, leading to the quite homogeneous Nb distribution in the grain volume. Whereas, Nb-doping by sol-gel method has led to dopants location mainly on the grain surface.
