    Research background: Sustainability in organizations is a business approach to creating long-term value by taking into consideration how a given organization operates in the ecological, social, and economic environments. The organizational practices that eventually lead to sustainable development are referred to as sustainable organization management. Purpose of the article: The purpose of this paper is to examine the current trends in sustainable organization management over the time period of 2015-2022, highlight the emerging themes in this study area, and provide guidance for further research in the field. Methods: This paper uses bibliometric meta-data analysis to present an analysis of current trends in sustainable organizational management. An in-depth analysis of a sample result of 619 papers from the Web of Science core collection was conducted with the use of biblioshiny, the R-Programming Language package, and the VoS Viewer software. A global representation of concepts was created using the relational directory network visualization technique based on VoS Viewer software. Keyword cooccurrence relationships were determined; relational techniques were used to visualize bibliographic coupling density to identify thematic areas with little research; and overlay visualization bibliometric techniques were used to identify new and old research themes. Findings & value added: Emerging themes are modeling, tourism, and perceptions. Motor theme areas in the field of study include performance, impact, and management. The paper concludes that the study area of organizational sustainability management is still in its early stages and has great research potential, such as Africa as a study area, despite the fact that there have been few or no research findings. Future research should examine the role of technology and innovation in promoting sustainable practices within organizations and clarify how well an organization can survive global competition.

    Constant development and improvements of the way in which organizations operate as well as the unstable and turbulent environment cause that organizations have to revise their management practices. In the past management was usually perceived from the perspective of four functions, which comprised: planning, organizing, managing and controlling. Nowadays, one can notice that new functions in this respect have appeared which are directly linked to psychology. They concern such activities as inspiring the environment, creating the friendly work environment or delegating rights. Soft competences, such as communicativeness or easiness of making friends, are more and more frequently skills which employees are expected to possess. A very important aspect of employee selection process is examining the level of soft competences they possess. This also constitutes a very important factor of a successful management process in organizations

    Sustainability manufacturing is crucial in many aspects in terms of environmental impact. It concerns the consumption of energy, raw materials and materials, as well as the emission of harmful substances and waste. The implementation of sustainability manufacturing requires many actions at various levels, including strategic, tactical and operational ones. In order to implement measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of the company on the environment, employees’ competencies are needed. The article presents preliminary research on key green competencies for sustainability companies. The research was carried out in the form of individual interviews with medium and large production companies. The result of the research is the division of competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) into three stages of the organization’s development, indicating the key competencies for each stage of the development of sustainability management.

    Purpose: The EU’s guidelines exert an important influence on companies aiming to accelerate the implementation of green measures and minimise their negative environmental impacts. The objective of this paper is to define the key categories of green organisations and green competences whose development can accelerate the implementation of green processes in companies. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the literature review, a semi-structured qualitative research questionnaire was developed and a pilot study was conducted on four large manufacturing companies. Findings: A list of categories of activities linked to green organisations was developed and key components of green competences were defined. It was shown that performance-related managerial competences are the most important components of green competences for the companies. It was also pointed out that the categories that are the components of green 19 organisations are important and that the degree to which they are met has been increasing over time in recent years. Research limitations/implications: The pilot study was conducted with middle and senior 22 level representatives of four manufacturing companies. Its conclusions will be used to continue the research with a larger sample. Practical implications: The results of the study will allow companies to better adapt to the challenges of sustainability and green organisations. Key green competences and an emphasis on their development in the companies will allow more green organisation areas to be achieved more quickly. Social implications: The development of green organisations has a direct influence on minimising the negative environmental impacts and thereby improving the quality of life for everyone in society. Originality/value: Based on the analysis of the literature, it can be stated that there is no clear definition of green organisations while the variety of measures and their nomenclature in the area of sustainability is extensive. Research in that area contributes to the development of the science of management and quality and represents an important new field of research. This paper is meant for researchers and practitioners as well as HR representatives who work with the issue of green competences and green organisations.

    Zmiany środowiskowe wymuszają w przedsiębiorstwach ciągłe modernizacje, zarówno technologiczne, organizacyjne, jak i produktowe. Kładziony jest nacisk na eliminację marnotrawstwa jako przejaw zarządzania świadomego i zrównoważonego. Dąży się więc do eliminacji nadmiernych kosztów, czasu i wysiłku pracowników. Jedną z metod weryfikacji i analizy procesów jest metoda obserwacji migawkowej. Pozwala ona zbadać strukturę czasu pracy pracowników lub urządzeń, a na podstawie wyników analizy zaproponować rekomendacje dla przedsiębiorstwa. Dzięki wykorzystaniu metody obserwacji migawkowej, możliwe było określenie struktury czasu pracy operatorów linii sortującej, a następnie przedstawienie propozycji usprawnień procesu.
    Environmental changes force enterprises to constantly modernize, both technological, organizational and product-oriented. The emphasis is put on the elimination of waste as a manifestation of conscious and sustainable management. It strives to eliminate excessive costs, time and effort of employees. One of the methods of verification and analysis of processes is work sampling. It allows you to examine the structure of working time of employees or devices, and based on the results of the analysis, suggest recommendations for the company. Thanks to the use of work sampling, it was possible to determine the structure of the working time of the sorting line operators, and then to present the suggestions for process improvements.

    Purpose: The aim of the study is to present a changing global environment for businesses, to use modern elements of management, IT and telecommunications as necessary elements in the face of the pandemic and global crisis, to sustain the functioning of businesses, organisations, economies and states. Design/methodology/approach: On the basis of the collected statistical data, own research and surveys, observations and literature, conclusions have been drawn concerning trends of changes in the organisation and the application of modern management concepts and forms of management. The study presents the functioning of enterprises taking into account their further environment, especially economic and social, against the background of the current problems of the EU and the world economy. The study also presents the problems of modern global economy, pandemic and sustainable development. Findings: Study presents selected elements of governance and trends of change in the organisation. What matters most for companies is marketing, finance, profit, strategies, personnel, innovation, modern methods and forms of organisation, etc. However, elements of IT and modern management methods already have an important and growing position, especially in the face of the pandemic, remote work and the global crisis. Technological and macro-economic changes, new methods of management, shrinking natural resources in the world at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, looking for substitutes, all these set out the directions for the development of companies. In addition, socio-political and epidemiological changes, computerisation and automation, cause changes in the functioning of enterprises, both large and small.
