    Opis:
    This article discusses the photographic surveys undertaken on Polish occupied lands in the framework of the German war-time Landeskunde and Kunstschutz research projects. It presents the photographic collections produced in the General Government and Ober Ost, held in larger and smaller archives, widely popularized both on the front and at home by means of the press, albums, scientific and popular publications, postcards, lantern lectures and exhibitions. It argues that the advancement of the front provided a unique opportunity for such explorations and that the German surveys were the first of such reach and scale to cover all of Polish territories. The article also traces the possible close collaboration between German and Polish scholars, photographers and institutions. In particular it juxtaposes the survey initiatives undertaken by the Warsaw civic societies with the projects of the Landeskundliche Kommission and the Warsaw Hofbauabteilung. In addition, it focuses on the close collaboration between Jan Bułhak and the German art historians in Vilnius.

    Opis:
    Inwentaryzacja jest podstawową formą przedstawienia i ochrony obiektu zabytkowej ruiny. Pozwala również monitorować stan zachowania oraz postęp degradacji obiektu. Obiekty w ruinie są bardzo specyficzne, ponieważ z reguły nie posiadają elementów typowych dla istniejącego obiektu budowlanego. Oznacza to, że w przypadku ruin, metody wykonywania inwentaryzacji w taki sam sposób, jak w przypadku obiektów tradycyjnych, będą niewystarczające. Elementy obiektów w ruinie często mają skomplikowaną i zróżnicowaną geometrię, utrudniony oraz nie do końca bezpieczny dostęp do wszystkich elementów. W publikacji przedstawiono metody, które mogą być pomocne przy inwentaryzacji tego typu obiektów. W każdej metodzie opisano konieczną aparaturę i przyrządy, sposób wykonywania pomiarów, dokładność, zalety i ograniczenia. W pracy przedstawiono również przykłady zastosowania dla wybranych metod.
    The measured building survey is the basic form of presenting and protecting the object of the historic ruin. It also allows us to control the behavior and the progress of the degradation of the object. The ruined objects are very specific because they usually contain not all elements of an traditional building object. This means that the methods and methods of inventory taking, as in the case of traditional objects, may not be sufficient. Elements of objects in ruins often have complicated and diverse geometry, difficult and not completely safe access to all elements. The publication presents methods that can be helpful in the inventory of such objects. Each method describes the necessary instruments, the method of taking measurements, accuracy, advantages and limitations. The paper also presents examples of application for selected methods.

    Opis:
    Author explores the possibilities of aerial survey over the Early Medieval settlement complex, including castle at Czermno on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Aerial investigations allowed to detect moats and ditches, jetty, earthwork castle buildings, dwellings on the suburb, roads, piers and other constructions. Now it is possible to integrate historical data, results of excavations and mentioned aerial survey into a reconstructed picture of Cherven/Czerwień, presumed capital of Rotburgenland.

    The first aerial survey conducted within the vicinity of the ancient city of Metsamor and its cemetery detected several promising anomalies in the aerial photos and processed images within and beyond the known limits of the burial ground. The survey results are discussed in this article along with a brief outline of the burial types found in this cemetery.
