Opis:
Polyamide is a material used in various industrial sectors. In moving connections, in order to reduce friction between elements made of polyamide, lubrication is used or other substances reducing friction are added, such as molybdenum disulfide. It can be hypothesised that improving the sliding properties of polyamide will adversely affect polyamide’s ability to form effective adhesive bonds. An interesting question is whether a possible unfavourable change in adhesive properties of such modified polyamide will significantly influence the strength of adhesive bonds of this material. This paper analyses the adhesive properties of polyamide with respect to the strength of adhesive bonds. In order to verify the hypothesis, comparative tests of tensile shear strength of bonded doubleoverlap samples were carried out. Tests were conducted in accordance with ASTM D3528. Samples were prepared using Polyamide PA6, PA6 – MoS2, PA6G + oil and EN AW 2024 aluminium alloy. The following technologies were used to prepare the surface prior to bonding: plasma, sol-gel and abrasive jet machining. The summary of the article indicates that adding friction reducing agents to polyamide does not significantly affect the deterioration of its adhesive properties. Samples prepared with sandblasting achieved form 81.8% up to 114% higher shear strength than samples prepared with plasma and sol-gel treatments, disregard of added friction reducing agents to the adhered polyamide material. It is also interesting information of a utility character. A general conclusion can be formulated that the appropriate preparation of the polyamide surface, regardless of its material modification with friction reducing agents, in the technologies analysed, particularly by sandblasting, can ensure satisfactory results of joining the polyamide by adhesive bonding.

Angular momentum pumps are very often applied onboard ships. These pumps are used in cooling circuits of medium and high power engines, power plant boilers and in bilge, ballast and fire installations. Very extensive use of angular momentum pumps on board is connected with their numerous advantages. During operation the wear of marine hull, the rotor and shaft seals take place. The research attempts to increase the service life of shafts. The article presents the research results referring to the analysis of the influence of finish treatment (lathing, grinding and burnishing) on the corrosion properties of steel applied to marine pump shafts. The research was performed on a roller of 40 mm in diameter made of X5CrNi18-10 (AISI 304 L) stainless steel. The lathing process was carried out by means of a WNMG WF 080408 Sandvik Coromant cutting tool with replaceable inserts. The grinding process was performed by grinding attachment for lathes. The 1 - 80x10x32 - 99C 80-N V grinding wheel was used for the process. The process of burnishing was done by SRMD burnisher by Yamato. In addition, the influence of the burnisher passes number on the corrosion properties was determined. The paper will present the results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy research. To conduct the survey the Atlas 0531 EU and IA potentiostat was used. Determination of the corrosion process parameters was performed computer programs: AtlasLab 2.0 and EIS Spectrum Analyzer.

We report the results of studies for the radiation-stimulated changes in electro-physical characteristics of surface-barrier Al–Si–Bi structures based on p-Si. We demonstrate that the X-ray irradiation is accompanied by different processes which depend on the density of the dislocations in the original silicon crystals. A usual evolution of the existing structural defects and their radiationstimulated ordering dominate when the concentration remains low enough. Increase in the concentration causes the increasing role of generation of additional radiation defects. Modelling of the underlying physical processes has testified that the near-contact Si layers are strained. They act as getters for the structural defects and impurities.

Angular momentum pumps are frequently applied on board ships. As the pumps are working in hard conditions they are made from materials resistant to cavitation wear and electrochemical corrosion. The most popular damage of pump shaft is neck wear in place where seals are mounted. Burnishing, as modern finish plastic tooling method, makes it possible to get high technological quality of elements. The proposed process of burnishing shaft pins is designed to increase the service life of marine seawater pump shaft installations, which should enhance the economic effect. Thanks to its numerous advantages burnishing was proposed to angular momentum pumps shafts tooling instead of finish machining (finish turning, grinding, lapping). The goal was to estimate optimal burnishing parameters which enable receiving biggest strengthening and lowest roughness factor of angular momentum pumps shafts. The tool used was one-roll burnishing tool SRMD type produced by Yamato. The aim of this study was to determine the internat stresses occurring in the subsurface layer after machining carried out, and after burnishing the surface of marine pump shaft pins made of X5CrNH810 stainless steel.

In the paper presents a method to assess wear of pumping sections of injection pumps. A set of parameters was defined, which can be used as indicators of section's wear. Some results of experimental investigation of wear in pumping sections were presented. Verification was done using injection pump MOTORPAL used in a 4CT90 Diesel engine.

The aim of the present work is to determine the influence of technologically produced boron surface layers on the friction parameters in the sliding pairs under mixed friction conditions. The current boronizing processes allow obtaining surface layers of high hardness and high resistance to corrosion and wear, with low brittleness and no tendencies towards cracking However, the operation characteristics of these layers depend on the chemical composition, the structure of the surface layer, the method and parameters of their production, as well as any possible thermal treatment. The tribological evaluation included ion nitriding, powder-pack boronizing, laser boronizing, hardening and tempering surface layers and TiB2 coating deposited on ring samples. The ring samples were made from 38CrAlMo5-10, 46Cr2 and 30MnB4 steel. Modified surface layers of ring samples were matched under test conditions with counter-sample made from AlSn20 bearing alloy. Tested sliding pairs were lubricated 15W/40 Lotos mineral engine oil. The tribological tests were conducted on a T-05 block on ring tester. The applied steel surface layer modification with boron allow creating surface layers with pre-determined tribological characteristics required for the elements of kinematic sliding pairs operating under mixed friction conditions. Boronizing reduces the friction coefficient during the start-up of the frictional pair and the maximum start-up resistance level is similar to the levels of pairs with ion nitride surface layers.
