Opis:
The access to information is becoming a key issue for efficient management and building of competitive advantage of enterprises. The managerial staff is looking for tools supporting the decision-making process. The dashboard is a specific type of a report outlining the most important information and indicators related to the goals of the company. It is a method for imaging and presenting data, including business data. Therefore, such tools are included in the Business Intelligence information systems. The purpose of the article was to collect information on the use of dashboard in mining companies by the managerial staff. For this purpose, a questionnaire was used by the authors.
Dostęp do informacji staje się obecnie kluczową kwestią dla sprawnego zarządzania i budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej przedsiębiorstw. Kadra menedżerska poszukuje wsparcia narzędzi wspomagających podejmowanie decyzji. W tym celu wykorzystywane są dashboards. Dashboard jest specyficznym rodzajem raportu przedstawiającym najważniejsze informacje i wskaźniki powiązane z celami organizacji. Jest sposobem obrazowania i prezentacji danych, w tym danych biznesowych, dlatego też narzędzia te wchodzą w skład systemów informatycznych klasy Business Intelligence.

Omawiając te zagadnienia, zwrócono uwagę na ich systemowe ujęcie i całościową analizę funkcjonowania grup producenckich, uwzględniające uwarunkowania i możliwości ich powstawania i prowadzenia działalności.
The article contains an overview of issues related to interoperability in agribusiness. The following issues were consequently analyzed: the essence and determinants of organizational relationships in agribusiness, the essence of producer groups and their legal conditions, the development trends of producer groups in Poland and the benefits and barriers to the functioning of producer groups in Poland. While discussing the issues, their systemic approach and comprehensive analysis of the functioning of producer groups were highlighted, taking into account the conditions and possibilities for their creation and activities.

According to the latest media reports, military consortia are more and more frequently formed. They unite Polish arms companies around the implementation of projects of key importance for the Polish Armed Forces’ armaments. In December 2012 the Ministry of National Defense (MON) announced that over the coming 10 years the military intends to have further projects performed, that is new combat vehicles, both wheeled and tracked, developed. A consortium aims to prepare plans and submit a bid on the execution of research and development works in order to draw up a joint project and then introduce it to series production. The problem may arise on the grounds of the distribution of a profit and other goods, which are generated in the process of cooperation, and not covered by the consortium agreement. The article attempts to address the question of what tool may be useful when determining fair rules for functioning of consortia in the arms industry so as to reflect the factual distribution of consortium members.

Law states that the most important tasks related to the development of the particular re-gion are performed by the municipality. This article aims to identify tools at the disposal of municipal government in the process of local development, particularly financial methods of promoting the economic growth. The analysis includes polish communities by characterizing the range of investment activities carried out by these units. Municipalities and cities with poviat status had the largest share in realization of the investment of local government (in total over 70%). Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwych do zastosowania instrumentów wspierających rozwój przedsiębiorczości w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego wybranych gmin województwa kujawsko- -pomorskiego w zależności od modelu funkcjonowania lokalnej gospodarki. Autor przeanalizował sześć modeli obowiązujących w: (1) największych miastach województwa kujawsko-pomorskiego, (2) gminach podmiejskich położonych w rejonie Bydgoszczy i Torunia, (3) gminach przywęzłowych dróg A1 i S5, (4) gminach wielofunkcyjnych, położonych peryferyjnie w stosunku do głównych ośrodków województwa, (5) pozostałych gminach wielofunkcyjnych i (6) gminach miejskich, w których podstawową determinantą rozwoju przedsiębiorczości jest ograniczona, niewielka powierzchnia administracyjna gminy miejskiej, co rzutuje na dostępność terenów inwestycyjnych. Można stwierdzić, iż gama narzędzi do pobudzania przedsiębiorczości w gminach jest bardzo szeroka. Jednostki samorządu terytorialnego dysponują dostatecznie rozbudowanym zestawem instrumentów, umożliwiającym – z formalnego punktu widzenia – prowadzenie aktywnych działań na rzecz wspierania przedsiębiorczości. Ze względu na ograniczenia redakcyjne w niniejszym artykule zostaną scharakteryzowane modele 1–3. Kolejne staną się przedmiotem osobnej publikacji.
The aim of the article is to present possible instruments supporting the development of entrepreneurship in local government units of selected communes of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, depending on the functioning model of the local economy. The author analyzed six models (the model applicable in the largest cities of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in suburban communes located in the area of Bydgoszcz and Toruń, in communes near the junctions of the A1 and S5 roads, in multifunctional communes located peripherally to the main centres of the voivodeship, in other multifunctional communes and the model applicable in urban communes in which the basic determinant of entrepreneurship development is the limited small administrative area of the urban commune, the availability of investment areas. It can be said that the range of tools to stimulate entrepreneurship in communes is very wide. Local government units have a sufficiently wide set of instruments enabling, from a formal point of view, active measures to support entrepreneurship.

Purpose: The article presents the results of qualitative research related to answering the question: “How can reporting be supported when there is no access to professional BI tools?”. Design/methodology/approach: The answer to this question was set in the context of the BI layers proposed by Todd (todd 2017). This approach allowed one to determine, in each layer, operations performed on data that support reporting. The main research method was the participation observation made in the author’s involvement in the project management team. Findings: Supporting reporting in project management when there is no access to professional BI tools needs strong technical competences and great creativity by the project management team in using applications such as spreadsheets or database tools. The most helpful functionalities provided by spreadsheets are text and search functions and the data conversion wizard. The most useful functionality provided by database tools was intelligent calculations made by queries and automatic report design provided by MS Access. Originality/value: The paper presents an examination of the set of operations and IT tools needed in a business analysis made in project management in a situation where there is no access to professional BI tools.

The research was focused on analyzing the causes of high-pressure die-casting defects, more specifically on casting leakage, which is considered perhaps the most important and common defect. The real data used for modelling was obtained from a high-pressure die-casting foundry that manufactures aluminum cylinder blocks for the world’s leading automotive brands. This paper compares and summarizes the results of applying advanced modelling using artificial neural networks, regression trees, and support vector machines methods to select artificial neural networks as the most effective method to perform a multidimensional optimization of process parameters to diagnose the causes of die-casting defects and to indicate the future research scope in this area. The developed system enables the prediction of the level of defects in castings with satisfactory accuracy and is therefore a highly relevant reference for process engineers of high-pressure foundries. This article indicates exactly which process parameters significantly influence the formation of a defect in a casting.

Projektowanie procesów wpisuje się w nurt funkcjonowania współczesnych przedsiębiorstw. Praktyka wykazuje, że analiza procesów biznesowych i ich modelowanie wpływają na efektywność działania całego przedsiębiorstwa. W artykule poruszono niektóre aspekty modelowania procesów biznesowych, w tym m.in.: etapy modelowania procesów, podstawowe wymagania związane z modelowaniem procesów, mapowanie procesów oraz narzędzia IT wspomagające projektowanie procesów biznesowych. Studium przypadku służy zaprezentowaniu szczegółowych modeli zaprojektowanych procesów biznesowych.
Process design fits in the current functioning of modern enterprises. Practice shows that the analysis of business processes and their modeling has an effect on the efficiency of the entire enterprise. The paper discusses some aspects of business process modeling including, among others, stages of process modeling, the basic requirements for process modeling, process mapping and IT tools supporting the design of business processes. The case study presents detailed models of designed business processes.

This article discusses the results of studies using the developed artificial neural networks in the analysis of the occurrence of the four main mechanisms destroying the selected forging tools subjected to five different surface treatment variants (nitrided layer, pad welded layer and three hybrid layers, i.e. AlCrTiSiN, Cr/CrN and Cr/AlCrTiN). Knowledge of the forging tool durability, needed in the process of artificial neural network training, was included in the set of training data (about 800 records) derived from long-term comprehensive research carried out under industrial conditions. Based on this set, neural networks with different architectures were developed and the results concerning the intensity of the occurrence of thermal-mechanical fatigue, abrasive wear, mechanical fatigue and plastic deformation were generated for each type of the applied treatment relative to the number of forgings, pressure, friction path and temperature.

W IUNG-PIB od wielu lat konstruowane są narzędzia informatyczne dostarczające informacji pomocnych producentom rolnym przy podejmowaniu decyzji produkcyjnych. Do modelowania technologii produkcji roślinnej i kalkulacji kosztów służy m.in. program Agroefekt. Wykonane analizy technologiczno-ekonomiczne mogą być wykorzystane do planowania przyszłych działań i zarządzania produkcją roślinną. Niewłaściwie prowadzone nawożenie, szczególnie niewłaściwa gospodarka azotem może powodować niekorzystne zmiany w środowisku. Prawo polskie zaleca bilans azotu "na powierzchni pola" jako metodę monitorowania wpływu nawożenia azotem na jakość wód gruntowych. Do wykonania bilansu przydatny jest program MacroBil. Zalecenia dla wielu roślin uprawnych dotyczące nawożenia można uzyskać stosując program doradczy NawSald. Dobór odmian kukurydzy dla różnych rejonów Polski z uwzględnieniem wymagań termicznych można przeprowadzić posługując się aplikacją internetową "Fenologia kukurydzy". System wspomagania decyzji ZeaSoft ułatwia wybór odmiany na podstawie lokalnych warunków klimatycznych, charakterystyki odmian i rachunku ekonomicznego.
At the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation - National Research Institute IT tools that provide the information essential for decision-making to farmers have been built for a number of years. Technology modelling and cost calculation can be conducted with the aid of the Agroefekt program. The technological and economic analyses obtained may be used in planning of future activities and farm production management. Fertilization and nitrogen management have a strong effect on the environment and it is important to conduct them in a proper way. The Polish law recommends nitrogen balance at the scale of the field as a method of monitoring the impact of nitrogen fertilization on the quality of ground water. The balance can be calculated with the MacroBil program. The information on fertilization for a number of crops can be obtained with the aid of the NawSald program. The selection of varieties based on the thermal requirements of maize and climatic conditions in various regions in Poland can be carried out with the Maize Phenology Internet application. The ZeaSoft system supports decision making in the selection of maize variety based on local climatic conditions, variety characteristics and economic analysis.

Złożoność, wieloetapowość oraz niejednorodność przedsięwzięć inżynieryjnych wiąże się z trudnościami w doborze narzędzi informatycznych, umożliwiających ich racjonalne wspomaganie. Istotna zatem wydaje się próba dokonania oceny możliwości wykorzystania do tego celu zintegrowanych aplikacji o charakterze hybrydowym. Wykorzystywane są one z powodzeniem do wspomagania złożonych, niejednorodnych przedsięwzięć o charakterze biznesowym, a ich specyfika i znaczny zakres potencjalnych zastosowań umożliwia ich wykorzystanie również w zakresie problemów inżynieryjnych, oferując przy tym spójność informacyjną i funkcjonalną całego przedsięwzięcia.
Engineering tasks, such as the ones presented in the article related to civil engineering, examined in the informational and decision-making context, are frequently complex, multi-stage and heterogeneous in nature. This leads to difficulties when selecting IT tools that enable their support. No informational or functional conformity of particular applications used to support the subsequent stages of a complex task makes the coherent realisation of such a process considerably harder or even impossible. Support of numerous homogenous engineering tasks is provided with the use of technologies that have been adopted from other management areas, mainly dedicated to business operations. This is what one should also do with complex and heterogeneous engineering problems. It seems rational that integrated applications that allow one to both solve algorithmic problems and heuristic ones should be employed. Integrated hybrid systems ensure continuity of support for complex, multi-stage engineering problems, at the same time offering informational and functional coherence of the whole task.
