    Opis:
    Socio-economic development of local government units (communes, poviats and self-government voivodships) is not possible without efficient administration. The activities of each local government unit (l.g.u.) consist of its basic tasks as well as auxiliary processes, so-called support functions (eg. accounting, personnel, training, archives, IT, property management, e-administration). Centralization of the support function is one of the more frequently used tools to optimize this area of activity. The article presents the possibilities of creating Local Government Shared Service Centers (LGSSC) as a way to optimize costs and standardize the processes taking place in the activities of local governments. A detailed LGSSC analysis shows the advantages of a modern approach to how to deliver better quality services by l.g.u.
    Rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy jednostek samorządu terytorial-nego (gmin, powiatów i samorządowych województw) nie jest możliwy bez sprawnie działającej administracji. Na działalność każdej jednostki samorządu terytorialnego (j.s.t.), składają się podstawowe jej zadania, jak i procesy pomocnicze tzw. funkcje wsparcia (np. księgowość, kadry, szkolenia, archiwum, IT, zarządzanie majątkiem, e-administracja). Centralizacja funkcji wsparcia jest jednym z częściej wykorzystywanych narzędzi do optymalizacji tego obszaru działalności. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości i efekty jakie niesie ze sobą stworzenie Samorządowych Centrów Usług Wspólnych (SCUW) jako sposobu na optymalizację kosztów i standaryzację zachodzących w działalności samorządów procesów. Szczegółowa analiza SCUW pokazuje zalety nowoczesnego podejścia do sposobu dostarczania lepszych jakościowo usług przez j.s.t.

    Opis:
    Na działalność każdego przedsiębiorstwa, w tym szczególnie produkcyjnego, składają się podstawowe procesy biznesowe i procesy pomocnicze, tzw. funkcje wsparcia. Centralizacja funkcji wsparcia jest jednym z częściej wykorzystywanych narzędzi do optymalizacji tego obszaru działalności. W artykule na przykładzie Katowickiego Holdingu Węglowego S.A. (KHW) przedstawiono przebieg procesu tworzenia oraz rolę i funkcje Centrum Usług Wspólnych (CUW), jako sposobu na redukcję kosztów działalności firmy. Szczegółowa analiza CUW pokazuje zalety nowoczesnego podejścia do sposobu dostarczania usług na rzecz Grupy Kapitałowej KHW z możliwością rozszerzenia tej formy usług na inne przedsiębiorstwa, w tym górnicze.

Centralization of support functions is one of the most frequently used tools to optimize this area of activity. The article, on the example of the Katowickiego Holdingu Węglowego S.A. (KHW), describes the process of creation and the role and functions of the Shared Services Centre (SSC) as a way to reduce the cost of business. Detailed analysis of the SSC shows the advantages of a modern approach to the way of providing services to the Group KHW with the possibility of extension this form of services to other companies, including mining businesses.

    The purpose of the article is to present the essence of distance functions, which calculating is a key phase of consensus determining process in the situation of knowledge conflicts appearing in decision support systems. In the first part of the article, distance function and its general definition are characterized. Next, the definitions of distance functions with regard to the sample attributes of a structure of decision, such as the real numbers, the dates, incomplete ordered partitions and incomplete strict partial orders, are presented.

    In this paper we collect some properties of strongly midconvex functions. First, counterparts of the classical theorems of Bernstein-Doetsch, Ostrowski and Sierpiński are presented. A version of Rod é support theorem for strongly midconvex functions and a Kuhn-type result on the relation between strongly midconvex functions and strongly t-convex functions are obtained. Finally, a connection between strong midconvexity and generalized convexity in the sense of Beckenbach is established

    Opis:
    The paper presents a study on data-driven diagnostic rules, which are easy to interpret by human experts. To this end, the Dempster-Shafer theory extended for fuzzy focal elements is used. Premises of the rules (fuzzy focal elements) are provided by membership functions which shapes are changing according to input symptoms. The main aim of the present study is to evaluate common membership function shapes and to introduce a rule elimination algorithm. Proposed methods are first illustrated with the popular Iris data set. Next experiments with five medical benchmark databases are performed. Results of the experiments show that various membership function shapes provide different inference efficiency but the extracted rule sets are close to each other. Thus indications for determining rules with possible heuristic interpretation can be formulated.

    The paper proposes a formal definition of support verb as (roughly) a semantically empty verb serving as a syntactic “prop” to a predicative noun such that the phrase V(support)(N) + N is synonymous with the verb V0 derived form N: ‘V(support)(N) + N’ = ‘V0(N)’, as in ‘to give an order’ = ‘to order’ or ‘to receive an order’ = ‘to be ordered’. The following points are discussed: support verbs as collocates, representation of support verbs in terms of lexical functions, semantic and syntactic properties of support verbs, semantic additions to support verbs (in particular, causation and phasic meanings), realization verbs, and the role of support verbs in theoretical and applied linguistics.

    Autorka artykułu ukazała rozwój dziecka w kontekście funkcji mu-zyki. Podkreś liła wspierającą rolę edukacji muzycznej w kształtowaniu funkcji poznawczych, psychicznych, emocjonalnych, społecznych i fizycznych dziecka. Zaprezentowała wybrane eksperymenty związane z funkcjami poznawczymi, z pamięcią, koncentracją, myśleniem przestrzennym, twórczością oraz z przed-miotami szkolnymi (matematyką, językiem polskim, językami obcymi). Muzyka, która nieodzownie łączy się z przeżywaniem, wspiera rozwój emocjonalny i spo-łeczny dziecka, jest wykorzystywana w celach terapeutycznych i rekompensacyj-nych (zaburzenia mowy). Ruch jest nieodłącznym elementem zajęć muzycznych wśród małych dzieci, co pozostaje w ścisłym związku z ich rozwojem fizycznym. Zaprezentowano liczne badania wskazujące na korelację pomiędzy muzyką a roz-wojem dziecka.
    The author presents children’s development in the context of the function of music. She underlines the supportive role of musical education in forming children’s cognitive, mental, emotional, social and physical functions. She presents a selection of experiments related to cognitive function, memory, concentration, spatial thinking, creativity as well as school subjects (mathematics, Polish language, foreign languages). Music, which is immanently associated with experiencing, is used for therapeutic and compensation purposes in speaking disorders. Motion is an inseparable element of musical activities of small children and is thus closely related to their physical development. Numerous research examples indicate the correlation between music and children’s development.
