Paraconvex multimaps are revisited in normed vector space setting. A parallel is provided with the studies conducted for real valued paraconvex functions on generalized convexities and monotonicities. Several characterizations are then obtained. The links with some generalized convexities for multimaps are examined and a first classification is achieved. In addition, two representation results for 2-paraconvex multimaps are given.

The paper presents a method of supporting decision-making under risk by a risk- -averse decision-maker. Decision-making under risk occurs when the outcome of the system is ambiguous and depends on the state of the environment. The problem is considered as a multi-criteria optimization. The decision support method consists of interactive conduct of the process of decision-making. The decision is made by means of solving a problem with controlling parameters, which determine the aspirations of the decision-maker and evaluating the obtained solutions. The decision-maker sets parameters for which a solution is determined. Subsequently, he or she assesses the obtained solution, accepting or rejecting it. In the latter case, the decision-maker sets new values for the parameters and the problem is solved again. The present paper presents a discrete example of support for decision making under risk.

In this work we obtained the solution of increasing of adequacy of models of multicriteria evaluation for the project and management decision support systems. Modifications of the utility functions of partial criteria and the procedure for calculating their values are proposed, which makes it possible to improve the accuracy of approximation of the preferences of the person making the decision, as well as significantly reduce the time for calculating their values. For the parametric synthesis of universal multicriteria estimation models based on the Kolmogorov-Gabor polynomial, an improvement in the method of comparator identification by calculating the Chebyshev point and the discrepancy vector is proposed.

This article attempts to discuss the evolution of the theoretical basis of bibliotherapy and the possibility of its practical applications in the activities of prevention, treatment, education and socialization of readers. Its attractiveness, and at the same time difficulty of description, is connected with its interdisciplinary nature which smoothly combines study of literature, bibliology, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, philosophy, history, anthropology, and even medical sciences. This melting pot of so differentiated, yet similar issues is joined by their affiliation to humanistic reflection, and thus becomes a set of flexible tools useful in the process of strengthening the physical and mental condition of customers.
Artykuł stanowi próbę omówienia ewolucji teoretycznych podstaw biblioterapii oraz możliwości jej zastosowań praktycznych w działaniach z zakresu profilaktyki, terapii, wychowania, edukacji i socjalizacji czytelników. Atrakcyjność, ale i trudność opisywania biblioterapii łączy się z jej interdyscyplinarnością. Płynnie łączą się w jej obrębie literaturoznawstwo, bibliologia, psychologia, pedagogika, socjologia, filozofia, historia, antropologia, a nawet nauki medyczne. Zróżnicowane, a jednocześnie bliskie zagadnienia, połączone wspólnym mianownikiem przynależności do refleksji humanistycznej, mogą przekształcić się w poręczny zestaw elastycznych narzędzi przydatnych w procesie umacniania kondycji psychicznej i fizycznej odbiorców.

In the paper methods of reducing the so-called boundary effects, which appear in the estimation of certain functional characteristics of a random variable with bounded support, are discussed. The methods of the cumulative distribution function estimation, in particular the kernel method, as well as the phenomenon of increased bias estimation in boundary region are presented. Using simulation methods, the properties of the modified kernel estimator of the distribution function are investigated and an attempt to compare the classical and the modified estimators is made.

W pracy przedstawiono metodę wspomagania wyboru decyzji w procesie negocjacji. Proces negocjacji modeluje się przy pomocy optymalizacji wielokryterialnej. Metoda znajdowania rozwiązania polega na interaktywnym prowadzeniu procesu wyboru kolejnych propozycji rozwiązań. Strony przedstawiają swoje propozycje dotyczące przedmiotów negocjacji, które stanowią parametry zadania optymalizacji wielokryterialnej. Wybór kolejnych rozwiązań dokonuje się przez rozwiązywanie zadania optymalizacji z parametrami, które określają aspiracje każdej ze stron biorących udział w negocjacjach, jak również przez ocenę otrzymywanych rozwiązań przez strony.
The paper presents a method of supporting the decision making in negotiation process. This process is modeled as a multicriteria optimization. It is an interactive choose of subsequent proposals. Parts present their propositions concerning the objects of negotiation that are parameters of multicriteria optimization problem. Choosing subsequent solutions is made by the solution of optimization problem with parameters, that determine the aspiration of each part of negotiation, as well as by valuation of the obtained solutions.

The MCDA technique has been extensively and successfully applied for supporting decision making in negotiation processes. The mostly used techniques SAW, AHP or TOPSIS are based on direct preference information which requires from negotiator a clear and precise definition all the parameters of the preference model (e.g. issue weights, option rates, aspiration and reservation values etc.), so those techniques can be successfully applied in well-structured negotiation problems. But, many real negotiation problems are illstructured, that means that the negotiation space is imprecisely defined, and the negotiator’s preferences the vagueness or imperfect. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the potentials and the applicability the UTA method, one of the techniques based on indirect preference information, in evaluation of negotiation offers, especially in ill-structured negotiation problems. The UTA (Jacquet-Lagreze and Siskos, 1978, 1982, 2001) is a multicriteria decision making method which is based on the linear programming model for inferring additive utility functions from a set of representative decision data. The example is also presented to elaborate and demonstrate the holistic judgment and the usefulness UTA approach for evaluation negotiation offers.

Artykuł obejmuje metodykę wyznaczenia funkcji kompensacji momentów podporowych dla wieloprzęsłowych belek składanych na podstawie badań modelowych. Funkcja ta ma zasadniczy wpływ na rozkład momentów zginających w zależności od wielkości luzów montażowych występujących w konstrukcjach składanych. Badania modelowe polegały na pomiarze ugięć belek składanych dwu- i trójprzęsłowych opartych na podporach stałych. Wykonano je dla różnych rozpiętości przęseł oraz różnych luzów montażowych pomiędzy dwoma składnikami belki. Uzyskane wyniki pomiarów tych ugięć pozwoliły jednoznacznie określić postać tej funkcji.
The following paper presents the experimental study of methodology for determination of a compensation function of moments at the support as regards the multi-span folding beams. This function plays pivotal role on bending moments distribution in relation to the assembly clearance appeared in the folding constructions. The scope of the experimental research ranged the two-span and three-span folding beams deflection measurements founded on fixed supports. The authors considered different factors influenced the effect of the examined process, including different lengths of spans and different size of the assembly clearance. The obtained results of the experimental measurements enabled us to unequivocally determine the mathematical form of this function.

W artykule przedstawiono metodę podejmowania decyzji grupowej. Decyzja grupowa jest wtedy, gdy grupa osób o odmiennych preferencjach ma podjąć wspólną decyzję. Proces wyboru decyzji grupowej modeluje się za pomocą zadania optymalizacji wielokryterialnej. Zadanie to rozwiązuje się metodą punktu odniesienia. Jest to technika interaktywna, w której każda z osób z grupy określa swoje wymagania w postaci punktu odniesienia, który wyraża pożądane wartości dla jej funkcji oceny. Na podstawie podanych punktów odniesienia konstruowana jest skalarna funkcja osiągnięcia. Maksymalizacja tej funkcji generuje rozwiązanie zadania wielokryterialnego, które jest prezentowane każdej osobie z grupy do akceptacji lub jako podstawa do modyfikacji punktów odniesienia.
This paper presents a method of collective decision-making. Group decision is when a group of people with different preferences is to take a common decision. The selection process of group decision is modeled using a multi-criteria optimization problem. This object is achieved by the reference point method. This method is an interactive technique in which each person in the group determines its requirements as a reference point, which expresses the desired value for the evaluation function. On the basis of these reference points a scalarizing achievement function is constructed. Maximizing this function generates the solution of a multi-criteria task. This solution is presented to each person in the group to accept or as a basis for modifying the reference points.

This paper described the main idea of the MACBETH approach and M-MACBETH software to multicriteria negotiation analysis. The MACBETH is based on the additive value model and requires only qualitative judgments about differences of attractiveness to help a decision maker quantify the relative value of options or criteria. The main goal of this procedure is to support interactive learning about evaluation problems and to provide the recommendations to select and rankordering options/criteria in decision making processes. We proposed to use MACBETH methodology as well M-MACBETH software to support ill-structure negotiation problems, i e. evaluation of negotiation offers in an environment with uncertain, subjective and imprecise information and not precisely defined decision makers preferences. An numerical example showing how M-MACBETH software can be implemented in practice, in order to help a negotiator to define numerical values of options/criteria based on verbal statements and next build a scoring system negotiation offers taking into account different types of issues in negotiation problems is presented. More detail we describe the main key points of M-MACBETH software related to structuring the negotiation model, building value scales for evaluation negotiation packages, weighting negotiation issues and selected elements of sensitivity analyzes.

One of the crucial problems in the field of knowledge discovery is development of good interestingness measures for evaluation of the discovered patterns. In this paper, we consider quantitative, objective interestingness measures for "if..., then... " association rules. We focus on three popular interestingness measures, namely rule interest function of Piatetsky-Shapiro, gain measure of Fukuda et al., and dependency factor used by Pawlak. We verify whether they satisfy the valuable property M of monotonic dependency on the number of objects satisfying or not the premise or the conclusion of a rule, and property of hypothesis symmetry (HS). Moreover, analytically and through experiments we show an interesting relationship between those measures and two other commonly used measures of rule support and anti-support.
