Opis:
The dominant notion of gender identity in Poland has been strongly influenced by essentialist concepts of gender roles. Consequently, transgender youths and their parents often experience social stigmatization, with the latter having their parenting skills called into question by people in their surrounding social environment. This has caused self-accusation among many parents, which may have influenced their own attitudes towards their children’s gender identity. The following paper details the subsequent outcomes of a qualitative research study conducted in Poland among the parents of transgender youths. The results of this research show the attitudes of trans youths parents towards their children’s gender identity; the initial reactions to their children coming out; their personal feelings; the process of reframing and reworking their stances.

The wills and waqfs (inalienable endowments) of Arabs from Zanzibar show various forms of support for the Ibadi community in Zanzibar, Oman and Mecca. Helping mosques, buying meals for fasting people and the poor, support for the pilgrims are just a few examples of this activity. Although it did not differ from the similar measures adopted by other Muslim communities, it pointed out profound relations between Oman and Zanzibar, the role of women in the Arab community in East Africa, and the changes that took place in this community in years 1890-1964, as well as within Oman and Zanzibar.

W warunkach trudnych i ciężkich dla psychiki dziecka oraz młodego człowieka harcerstwo nie-wątpliwe odgrywało ważną rolę w codziennym życiu w obozach i osiedlach polskich rozrzuconych po wielu zakątkach świata. Wychowanie postrzegane tu jako wychowanie w rodzinie harcer-skiej to także wychowanie obywatelskie, patriotyczne, scalające i skupiające dzieci i młodzież na tułaczych szlakach.
The article describes aspects of the ideology of the scout as a way of education, scouting rules in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Polish. In difficult conditions for the psyche of the child and a young man scouting undoubtedly played an important role in everyday life in the camps and polish settlements scattered over many parts of the world. Education is understood as family scout education, civic and patriotic education in integration and focusing way on children and young people wandering trails.

Celem artykułu jest podjęcie ważnego zagadnienia, jakim jest pozaszkolna edukacja dziecka, wykraczająca poza obowiązujący system szkolnictwa. Edukacja domowa przebiega w środowisku domowym, a nauczycielami są zazwyczaj rodzice, którzy treści nauczania, metody, środki dostosowują do indywidualnych możliwości dziecka. Edukacja domowa stanowi odzwierciedlenie potrzeb i dążeń wychowawczych współczesnych rodziców. Aby sprostać temu wyzwaniu, rodzice potrzebują i poszukują wsparcia w swoich działaniach edukacyjnych. Nie zawsze możliwe jest uzyskanie bezpośredniej pomocy w obrębie środowiska lokalnego, szczególnie od osób kompetentnych czy też zorientowanych w specyfice funkcjonowania rodziny w ramach tzw. „edukacji domowej”. Bezradni rodzice próbują zatem uzyskać pomoc na portalach społecznościowych, na przykład od grup skupiających rodziców na Facebooku. Uczestnictwo w takich grupach staje się źródłem „e-wsparcia”: informacyjnego, emocjonalnego, czasem też instrumentalnego. Celem badań jest określenie skali zjawiska, jakim jest poszukiwanie i uzyskiwanie przez rodziców wsparcia za pośrednictwem Internetu. Przeanalizowane zostały posty z pięciu grup na Facebooku, które mają zróżnicowany status oraz liczbę członków: dwie grupy otwarte ogólnopolskie, dwie grupy zamknięte (ogólnopolska i lokalna) oraz jedna grupa tajna. Liczba członków grup jest zróżnicowana. Największe są grupy otwarte (od ok. 2000 do 9000 członków), mniejsze – zamknięte (od ok. 150 do 1000 członków), najmniejsze – tajne (w przypadku badanej grupy było to 15 osób). W poszczególnych grupach zostały przeanalizowane posty średnio z sześciu miesięcy, z przełomu 2015 i 2016 roku.
The aim of the article is to touch on the important issue that is children’s out-of-school education, which goes beyond the existing education system. Home education takes place in the domestic environment, and the teachers are usually the parents, who adapt the curriculum, methods and means to the individual abilities of the child. Home education is a reflection of the needs and educational aspirations of modern parents. To meet this challenge, parents need, and look for, support in their educational activities. Direct help is not always available in the local community, particularly from competent persons versed in the specifics of family functioning within the framework of home education. Helpless parents try, therefore, to find help on social networks, for example in parents’ groups on Facebook. Participation in such groups becomes a key source of informational, emotional and sometimes instrumental e-support.The aim of the study is to determine the scale of the phenomenon that is parents searching for and obtaining assistance online. The subject of analysis were posts from five Facebook groups which have a diverse membership and number of members: two open nationwide groups, two closed groups (nationwide and local) and one secret group. The number of members in these groups varies: the open groups are the largest, with approx. 2,000 to 9,000 members, the closed groups are smaller, with approx. 150 to 1,000 members, and the secret groups are the smallest (the group analysed had 15 members). Posts from 6 months on average were analysed in each group, from the turn of 2015 and 2016.

Młodzież jest jedną z grup defaworyzowanych na rynku pracy, zarówno w Polsce, jak i w innych krajach Europy. Wysoki wskaźnik bezrobocia wśród ludzi młodych i społeczne oraz ekonomiczne skutki tej sytuacji spowodowały, że Komisja Europejska i rządy państw członkowskich, które borykają się z tym problemem, wypracowały wspólne działania na rzecz poprawy sytuacji młodzieży na rynku pracy. Opracowano m.in. „Pakiet na rzecz zatrudnienia młodzieży” (Youth Employment Package), w ramach którego podjęto inicjatywę ustanowienia „Gwarancji dla młodzieży” (Youth Guarantee). Odpowiedzią Polski na te dokumenty KE był „Plan realizacji Gwarancji dla młodzieży w Polsce” opracowany przez Ministerstwo Pracy i Polityki Społecznej z wykorzystaniem „Inicjatywy na rzecz zatrudnienia ludzi młodych”, którego celem ma być praktyczna realizacja działań na rzecz jak najszybszego odwrócenia negatywnej tendencji w zatrudnieniu młodzieży. Realizacja „Gwarancji dla młodzieży” zakłada m.in., że wszyscy młodzi ludzie poniżej 25. roku życia – niezależnie od tego, czy zarejestrują się w urzędzie pracy czy też nie – uzyskają dobrej jakości ofertę w ciągu czterech miesięcy od zgłoszenia się do programu. Oferta ta powinna być dostosowana do indywidualnych potrzeb i sytuacji. Przewidywane jest też wprowadzenie nowych narzędzi, takich jak system bonów stażowych, zatrudnieniowych, na przesiedlenie oraz pożyczka na podjęcie działalności gospodarczej czy zwolnienie pracodawców z obowiązku opłacania składek na Fundusz Pracy oraz Fundusz Gwarantowanych Świadczeń Pracowniczych za zatrudnionego bezrobotnego w wieku do 30 lat. Plan realizacji „Gwarancji dla młodzieży” wychodzi naprzeciw potrzebie stworzenia kompleksowej oferty wsparcia dla młodych osób i jest uzupełnieniem oraz wzmocnieniem dotychczasowych działań.
The youth is one of the most vulnerable groups at the labour market in Poland as well as in other European countries. A high unemployment rate among young people as well as social and economic consequences of this situation made the European Commission and the governments of the member states affected by this problem to work out common actions in order to solve the problem. The measures include Youth Employment Package with an initiative to establish the Youth Guarantee Programme. In response to the documents of the European Commission, the Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy developed a plan of implementation of Youth Guarantee with the application of ‘the Initiative on employment of young people in Poland’ which aims at performing actions in order to reverse the negative trend in the youth employment. According to the principles of Youth Guarantee, all young people up to the age of 25, regardless of registration at the job centre, will be given a good quality job offer no later than for months after the completing formal education or a job loss. The job offer should be adjusted to individual needs and conditions. There are supposed to be new system tools implemented: apprenticeship or employment or relocation vouchers, as well as loans for undertaking a business activity, or exempting employers from the subscription to Labour Fund and Employment Fund Contribution if the employee is up to the age of 30. The implementation plan of Youth Guarantee attempts to create an extensive offer to support young people, as well as to strengthen and complement the current actions, and provide a system of monitoring the changes.

Akcja popierania krajowej wytwórczości w 1928 r. była zaplanowana. Pomysł wyszedł ze sfer rządowych, realizację przekazano wojewodom i starostom, a uczestnictwo należało do społeczeństwa, w tym przedstawicieli organizacji o charakterze społecznym i gospodarczym. Wytyczne zostały przedstawione na zjeździe wojewodów 17 września 1928 r. w Warszawie. Wojewodowie wyznaczyli osoby odpowiedzialne za realizację, opracowano plan działania, spisano pomysły oraz dokonano wyboru organizacji i grup docelowych, które należało zaangażować. Następnie przystąpiono do działania. Artykuł składa się z pięciu części. W pierwszej przedstawiono założenia akcji promowania krajowych towarów i surowców oraz jej pierwszy etap informacyjny, następnie opisano realizację akcji w podziale na wykonawców i formy realizacji. Opis zamyka podsumowanie akcji i zakończenie. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie akcji promowania krajowej wytwórczości jako zjawiska pozytywnego i jednoczącego społeczeństwo II Rzeczypospolitej w 1928 r., w ramach obchodów 10. rocznicy odzyskania przez Polskę niepodległości.
The initiative of supporting domestic production in 1928 was preplanned. The idea came from government circles, while the implementation was handed over to voivodes and starostas, and the participation of society, including representatives of social and economic organizations. The guidelines were presented at the meeting of voivodes on September 17, 1928 in Warsaw. Voivodes appointed persons responsible for implementation, an action plan was developed, ideas were written down and organizations and target groups were selected to be involved in implementation. Then the initiative was launched. The article consists of five sections, the first of which presents the assumptions of the initiative to promote domestic goods and raw materials and its first informational stage, then describes the implementation of the initiative broken down by contractors and forms of implementation. After the presentation of the implementation, there is a summary of the events. The text ends with a conclusion. The aim of the article is to present the initiative of promoting domestic production as a positive phenomenon that unifies the society of the Second Polish Republic in 1928, as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.

The sexual economy prevalent within universities, as well as how young people perceive, interpret, and experience their sexuality, present complex dynamics, which, if not handled with great emotional intelligence, may disrupt their educational aspirations. This paper investigates the psycho-social implications of “semester marriages” within institutions of higher learning. Guided by principles of the qualitative approach and the theory of planned action, the paper disinterred that students experienced intense regret and guilt as a result of backstreet abortions. Soul-tie complications emanating from sharing the “wife-husband” bond also made it difficult for some students to move on after a breakup, leading to disruptions in their educational focus. In extreme cases, such an inability to deal with the adverse effects of “semester marriages” culminated in crimes of passion. The paper desists from pathologizing the “semester marriages” phenomenon and advocates for the strengthening of psycho-social support modalities within university settings to increase the accessibility and visibility of therapeutic services through a school social work model. Furthermore, universities, in partnership with other relevant stakeholders, are urged to prioritize sexual and reproductive education and services among the youth as provided for in the Constitution of Zimbabwe of 2013 to impart life skills that can equip students to make informed sexual and reproductive decisions.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie propozycji zastosowania modelu wsparcia społecznego znanego pod nazwą „spirali życzliwości” w projektowaniu działań wspierających osoby z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Artykuł składa się z wprowadzenia, czterech części zasadniczych oraz podsumowania. Część pierwsza przedstawia teoretyczne ujęcie wsparcia społecznego według Stanisława Kawuli. W drugiej części omówiono stworzone przez tego autora teoretyczne założenia „spirali życzliwości”. Kolejna część zawiera omówienie aktualnych tendencji w podejściu do wspierania kierowanego wobec osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. W części czwartej autorka proponuje wykorzystanie „spirali” w kreowaniu środo-wiska wspierającego osoby z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Poza próbą interpretacji teoretycznych ram omawianego modelu wsparcia społecznego podjęto również próbę graficznego przedstawienia przestrzeni spirali życzliwości oraz mającego w niej miejsce procesu wspierania. W podsumowaniu autorka wskazuje na aktualność idei „spirali” w podejściu do wspierania osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną.
The aim of the article is to present a proposal for the use of the social support model known as the “spiral of kindness” in the design of activities supporting people with intellectual disabilities. The article consists of an introduction, four main parts with subtitles and a summary. The first part highlights the theoretical approach to the notion of social support according to Stanisław Kawula. The second part discusses theoretical assumptions of the “spiral of kindness” created by the same author. The next part analyzes the current trends in the approach to providing support to people with intellectual disabilities. In the fourth part, the author proposes to use the “spiral” as a tool for creating the environment supportive of people with intellectual disabilities. Apart from the interpretation of the theoretical framework of the discussed social support model, an attempt has been made to graphically present the space of the “spiral of kindness” and the support process which takes place in it. In the summary part, the author points to the topicality of the idea of the “spiral” in specifying the approach to supporting people with intellectual disabilities.

Children with developmental dyslexia and at its risk have difficulties in the acquisition of foreign languages, especially non-transparent English. The problems of such pupils concern various aspects of the language system but in particular relate to the ability to read and spell. The research literature dedicated to effective preventative methods and dyslexia treatment suggests that both children with dyslexia and at its risk need phonological awareness training and multi-sensory learning. It is also known that prevention and early treatment is more effective than therapeutic intervention used in older students. Experts in foreign language acquisition recommend that children have contact with longer oral texts and live language (e.g., poems and songs). A recently-published report on the methods of English language teaching in Polish primary schools shows that the lessons conducted there do not realise the majority of the aforementioned recommendations. As a consequence, they do not serve any pupils including those with dyslexia and at its risk. A method which meets most of the demands mentioned above is “The Good Start Method for English”. It is a new program of teaching the English language designed for five to seven-year-olds, which at the same time ensures support for the psychomotor development of children, leading to acceleration in learning progress.

Rodzina jest podstawową komórką społeczną, w której rodzi się i wychowuje każdy człowiek. Jej wartość jest niezaprzeczalna, a każda próba zniekształcenia tego środowiska ma negatywny wpływ na integralny rozwój nie tylko człowieka, ale i społeczeństw. Współpraca różnych środowisk w procesie wychowania stała się jednym z zagadnień, którym zajął się Edmund Bojanowski. Jego myśl o wspieraniu przez społeczeństwo małżonków i podkreślanie roli ojca i matki w kształtowaniu się osobowości małego dziecka dziś wydaje się jeszcze bardziej aktualna. Bez silnych wartości rodzinnych nie można tworzyć silnych społeczeństw, które będą służyły dobru ogółu, ale i poszczególnych osób.
Family is the primary social cell in which every human being is born and raised. Its value is undeniable, and any attempt to distort this environment has a negative impact on the integral development of not only man but also society. The cooperation of different backgrounds in the process of education has become one of the issues addressed by Edmund Bojanowski. His thought of supporting the society of spouses and emphasizing the role of father and mother in shaping the personality of a young child today seems even more up-to-date. Without strong family values, you can not create strong societies that will serve the good of the whole but of the individual.

The implementation of 155 mm self-propelled howitzers ‘Krab’ into the Missile and Artillery Forces significantly improve their capabilities. Apart the howitzer, the battalion fire module ‘Regina’ consists of specialized command, reconnaissance, support and ammunition vehicles. The caliber of the howitzer adjusted to NATO standards allows for the application of the common ammunition, including precision-guided, with the range up to 40 km, which will enable striking the important targets in the enemy’s rear combat zone. An artillery battalion (battery) equipped with the self-propelled howitzer ‘Krab’ owing to usage of the precision-guided munitions during the engagement will gain unprecedented capabilities with regards to impacting a target. Moreover, the battalion will be able to successfully fulfill tasks, which until recently could be executed by a general-military commander with the support of anti-tank reserves, tank subunits, special forces or tactical surface-to-surface missiles. The paper proposes organizational structures of the ‘Krab’ artillery battalion, variants of order of battle and methods of fire tasks execution.

Opis:
In this article, the authors discuss the nature of peer-based prevention programs. The analyzes are conducted in the context of school bullying prevention and the associated need to build a friendly and safe school environment. Attention was paid to shaping a positive peer culture by involving young people in various types of prosocial activities. Peer leadership programs are a special kind of activity where the driving force is youth. Implementation of a peer program into school life enables the full potential of young people to be activated. Such programs mobilize young people to make positive changes in their social surroundings, to help themselves and others through constructive cooperation. Taking into account that these programs are carried out within the school environment, the condition of the effectiveness is the attitude of school toward such activities. It is important to foster positive peer relationships, to encourage students to participate and create the right conditions for change.

Stowarzyszenie Absolwentów Wydziału Prawa Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego (Societas Alumnorum Facultatis Iuris Catholicae Universitatis Lublinensis) formalną działalność rozpoczęło w 2006 r. Od 2009 r. Stowarzyszenie działa pod nazwą „Stowarzyszenie Absolwentów i Przyjaciół Wydziału Prawa Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego” (Societas Alumnorum et Amicorum Facultatis Iuris Catholicae Universitatis Lublinensis). Celami Stowarzyszenia są: 1) integrowanie i promowanie absolwentów Wydziału Prawa KUL; 2) wszechstronne wspieranie macierzystego Wydziału Prawa KUL; 3) cele edukacyjne, naukowe, informacyjne i popularyzacyjne.
The Association of Alumni of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lublin (Societas Alumnorum Facultatis Iuris Catholicae Universitatis Lublinensis) formally started in 2006. From 2009 the Association operates under the name “The Association of Alumni and Friends of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lublin” (Societas Alumnorum et Amicorum Facultatis Iuris Catholicae Universitatis Lublinensis). Among its objectives, there are: 1) integration and promotion the alumni of all majors of the Faculty of Law; 2) its comprehensive support; 3) educational, academic, information and popularization purposes.
