Opis:
Przedstawiono model optymalizacji struktury i harmonogramu kursowania floty statków do przewozu gazu skroplonego (LNG).
There is presented a model for optimizing the structure and schedule of traveling of a fleet of LNG tankers. As a criterion was assumed to minimize the total construction costs of the fleet and its operation. The model can be applied to any gas transportation route. It takes into account limits of vessels size and the demand for gas. There is shown an example of application of the model for terminal in Świnoujscie.

Opis:
The paper refers to planning deliveries of food products (especially those available in certain seasons) to the recipients: supermarket networks. The paper presents two approaches to solving problems of simultaneous selection of suppliers and transportation modes and construction of product flow schedules with these transportation modes. Linear mathematical models have been built for the presented solution approaches. The cost criterion has been taken into consideration in them. The following costs have been taken into account: purchase of products by individual recipients, transport services, storing of products supplied before the planned deadlines and penalties for delays in supply of products. Two solution approaches (used for transportation planning and selection of suppliers and selection of transportation modes) have been compared. The monolithic approach calls for simultaneous solutions for the problems of supplier selection and selection of transportation modes. In the alternative (hierarchical) solution approach, suppliers are selected first, and then transportation companies and their relevant transportation modes are selected. The results of computational experiments are used for comparison of the hierarchical and monolithic solution approaches.

Opis:
This paper discusses mixed-integer programming (MIP) approaches to planning and scheduling in electronics supply chains. First, the short-term detailed scheduling of wafer fabrication in semiconductor manufacturing and detailed scheduling of printed wiring board assembly in surface mount technology lines are discussed. Then, the medium-term aggregate production planning in a production/assembly facility of a consumer electronics supply chain is described; and finally, the coordinated aggregate planning and scheduling of the manufacturing and supply of parts and production of the finished products is presented. The decision variables are defined, and the MIP modeling frameworks are provided. Two decisionmaking approaches are discussed and compared: an integrated (simultaneous) approach, in which all required decisions are made simultaneously using a complex, large monolithic MIP model; and a hierarchical (sequential) approach, in which the required decisions are made successively using the hierarchies of simpler and smaller-sized MIP models. The paper also highlights the research on stochastic MIP applications to the planning and scheduling in electronics supply chains with disrupted material and information flows due to natural or man-made disasters.

Opis:
Large scale potable water transmission system considered in this paper is the Toronto Water System, one of the largest potable water supply networks in North America. The main objective of the ongoing Transmission Operations Optimizer project consists in developing an advanced tool for providing such pumping schedules for 153 pumps, that all quantitative requirements with respect to the system operation are met, while the energy costs are minimized. We describe here a linear, so-called SimplifiedModel (SM), based on mass-balance equations, which is solved on week horizon and delivers boundary conditions for so-called Full Model (FM), which is nonlinear and takes into account hydraulic phenomena and water quality.

Opis:
Contemporary variability of the environment and market dynamics force enterprises to optimize operations in the supply chain. Advanced IT systems such as the Advanced Planning System are a powerful tool that supports many areas in supply chain management. An efficient supply chain is a key element in gaining a competitive advantage in the market. Therefore, the foundation of the material and information flow regulation in manufacturing enterprises is the efficient exchange of information with both the internal and external environment of the organization. The article presents the optimization process of complex operations taking place in the supply chain by implementing the Advanced Planning System in the examined enterprise. It also enumerates significant benefits resulting from the implementation.

Opis:
The paper presents a three-level method used to support the management of product flow through supply chain links (e.g. production lines) and between these links: suppliers and recipients of products of various types. The supply chain includes both producers of components (suppliers) and recipients of these components, which are used for the production of complex goods. The method is dedicated to the development of schedules of product flows through particular production plants (links in supply chains) and between individual plants. Each module of the developed system refers to a separate production plant. The organization of product flow through production lines covers different types of production routes and different configurations of production systems. At the first level of the method, preliminary production schedules are developed for each plant within the supply chain. The second level of the method is dedicated to the development of delivery schedules of components and semi-finished products to these plants. The determined delivery times of components to the individual production plants constitute data for the third level of the method. At this lowest level, detailed schedules of product flow through production lines with the producers of complex goods are developed. Linear mathematical models have been built for each level of the method. In the developed method, optimization take place in the developed method in the scale of the entire supply chain (cost reduction), as well as in the scale of its links (production lines for which manufacturing schedules are built with various criteria taken into consideration). The computational experiments used for verification of the method have been included.

Opis:
The paper presents a model to coordinate the predictive-preventive maintenance process of Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) with optimal Vessel Fleet (VF) size support system. The model is presented as a bi-level problem. On the first level, the model coordinates the predictive-preventive maintenance of the OWF and the distributed Power System minimizing the risk of Expected Energy not Supply (EENS). The risk is estimated with a sequential Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation model. On the second level the model determining the optimal fleet size of vessels to support maintenance activities at OWF.
