Opis:
The primary objective is to perform a numerical synthesis of a Williamson fluid that has nanoparticles added to it and is directed toward a vertical cone in a uniform transverse magnetic field, under heat and mass transport, suction and injection, and convective boundary conditions. For this particular fluid flow, by utilising similarity transformations, the partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations. Calculating these kinds of equations with their suitable bounds requires the Runge–Kutta technique in combining a shooting strategy. The functions of a vast number of parameters are graphically represented and assessed on flow field profiles. The results show the local skin friction, local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number and the changing values of the flow constraints. Finally, the results are compared to those from the previously published works and found to be in good agreement.

The current study aims to explore stagnation spot flow of a micropolar fluid about a plain linear exponentially expanding penetrable surface in the incidence of radiation and in-house heat production/immersion. Through similarity mapping, the mathematical modeling statements are transformed to ODE's and numerical results are found by shooting techniques. The impact of varying physical constants on momentum, micro-rotation and temperature is demonstrated through graphs. The computed measures including shear, couple stress, mass transfer and the local surface heat flux with distinct measures of factors involved in this proposed problem are presented through a table.

The paper discusses a new analytical procedure for solving the non-linear boundary layer equation arising in a linear stretching sheet problem involving a Newtonian/non-Newtonian liquid. On using a technique akin to perturbation the problem gives rise to a system of non-linear governing differential equations that are solved exactly. An analytical expression is obtained for the stream function and velocity as a function of the stretching parameters. The Clairaut equation is obtained on consideration of consistency and its solution is shown to be that of the stretching sheet boundary layer equation. The present study throws light on the analytical solution of a class of boundary layer equations arising in the stretching sheet problem.

Gyarmati’s variational principle developed on the thermodynamic theory of irreversible processes is employed to study the viscous dissipation effects with uniform suction and injection on the infinite flat plate. The velocity and temperature fields inside the boundary layer are approximated as simple polynomial functions, and the functional of the variational principle is constructed. The Euler Lagrange equations are reduced to simple polynomial equations in terms of velocity and thermal boundary layer thicknesses. The velocity, temperature pro- files, skin friction and heat transfer with the viscous dissipation effects are analyzed and are compared with known numerical solutions. The comparison of the present solution with the existing solutions establishes the fact that the accuracy is remarkable.

The problem of a magneto-hydro dynamic flow and heat transfer to a non-Newtonian power-law fluid flow past a continuously moving flat porous plate in the presence of sucion/injection with heat flux by taking into consideration the viscous dissipation is analysed. The non-linear partial differential equations governing the flow and heat transfer are transformed into non-linear ordinary differential equations using appropriate transformations and then solved numerically by an implicit finite difference scheme. The solution is found to be dependent on various governing parameters including the magnetic field parameter M, power-law index n, suction/injection parameter ƒw, Prandtl number Pr and Eckert number Ec. A systematical study is carried out to illustrate the effects of these major parameters on the velocity profiles, temperature profile, skin friction coefficient and rate of heat transfer and the local Nusslet number.

Opis:
An unsteady flow formation in Couette motion of an electrically conducting fluid subject to transverse magnetic field has been analyzed in the presence of suction/injection through the porous plates when one of the porous plates is in ramped motion. It is assumed that the porous plates are uniformly permeable and the fluid is entering the flow region through one of the porous plates at same rate as it is leaving through the other porous plate. The resulting boundary value problem has been solved exactly under the assumption of a negligible induced magnetic field, external electric field and pressure gradient. Unified closed form expressions for the velocity field and skin-friction corresponding to the case of a magnetic field fixed relative to the fluid or to the moving porous plate have been presented. In order to highlight the impact of the ramp motion of the porous plate on the fluid flow, it has also been compared with Couette flow between porous plates when one of the porous plates has been set into an impulsive motion.

Opis:
In this paper, the steady fully developed MHD flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid through a channel filled with a porous medium and bounded by two infinite walls is investigated numerically for the cases (i) Poiseuille flow and (ii) Couette-Poiseuille flow; with uniform suction and injection at the walls in the presence of an inclined magnetic field. The Brinkman equation is used for the flow in the porous channel and solved numerically using the finite difference method. Numerical results are obtained for velocity. The effects of various dimensionless parameters such as Hartmann number (M), suction/injection parameter (S), permeability parameter (α) and angle of inclination (θ) on the flow are discussed and presented graphically.

Opis:
The flow of a viscous incompressible fluid through a vertical channel in the presence of radiation immersed in a porous medium has been studied. Approximate solutions have been obtained for the velocity and temperature fields, shear stresses and rate of heat transfer using the perturbation technique. It is found that the primary velocity decreases with an increase in the radiation parameter as well as the Prandtl number for cooling of the plate. It is also found that with an increase in the permeability parameter, the primary velocity increases for cooling of the plate. The magnitude of the secondary velocity decreases near the plate y = 0 and increases near the plate y = d with an increase in the permeability parameter. The temperature distribution decreases with an increase of the radiation parameter as wall as the Prandtl number for cooling of the plate. The shear stresses and the rate of heat transfer, which are of physical interest, are presented in the form of tables.

This investigation analyses a three dimensional flow and mass transfer of a second grade fluid over a porous stretching wall in the presence of suction or injection. The equations governing the flow are attained in terms of partial differential equations. A similarity transformation has been utilized for the transformation of partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations. The solutions of the nonlinear systems are given by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). A comparative study with the previous results of a viscous fluid has been made. The convergence of the series solution has also been considered explicitly. The influence of admissible parameters on the flows is delineated through graphs and appropriate results are presented. In addition, it is found that instantaneous suction and injection reduce viscous drag on the stretching sheet. It is also shown that suction or injection of a fluid through the surface is an example of mass transfer and it can change the flow field.

An analysis is made on the three dimensional flow of a viscous incompressible fluid through a vertical channel in the presence of radiation in slip flow regime. The right plate is subjected to an uniform injection and the left plate to a periodic suction velocity distribution. The velocity and temperature fields have been derived using the perturbation technique. It is found that the velocity decreases with the increase of the slip parameter. It is also found that the velocity decreases with the increase of the radiation parameter but near the right plate it increases. For cooling of the plate, the velocity increases with the increase of the Grashoff number and decreases near the right plate but the reverse effect is observed for heating the plate.
