    Opis:
    The author presents in a synthetic form the development of institutions of procedural joint participation, starting from the Roman civil process, with particular reference to the regulations contained in the code of civil procedure of 1930 and 1964. He focuses on the contemporary model of joint participation, discussing its types and manifestations. He proves that in addition to the types of participation regulated in the Code of Civil Procedure, there is also a place in the Polish civil proceedings for its other manifestations, including joint special unnamed joint participation, resulting from the „nature of things” or from the essence of a procedural claim submitted for judgment. He points out that a special case of special procedural joint participation appears in the case for reconciliation of the contents of the land and mortgage register with the actual legal status.

    Może się zdarzyć, że po wszczęciu procesu cywilnego okazuje się, że w zainicjowanym postępowaniu nie występują wszystkie podmioty bezpośrednio zainteresowane jego rozstrzygnięciem. Kodeks postępowania przewiduje dwie różne, choć w istocie swojej podobne, instytucje, które pozwalają wejść do toczącego się już postępowania innym podmiotom aniżeli wskazane pierwotnie w powództwie strony postępowania. Zarówno instytucja interwencji ubocznej, jak i przekształcenia podmiotowe, są instytucjami przewidzianymi przez Kodeks postępowania cywilnego wyłącznie dla procesu. W zależności od sposobu zainicjowania wejścia do procesu, osoba do niego wstępująca staje się interwenientem ubocznym albo pozwanym współuczestnikiem postępowania. Niniejsze opracowanie dotyka problematyki interwencji ubocznej samoistnej (kwalifikowanej), występującej po stronie pozwanej oraz jednego z kilku rodzajów przekształceń podmiotowych w procesie – dopozwania w trybie art. 194 § 3 K.p.c. Celem niniejszej pracy jest omówienie i próba konfrontacji obu instytucji w celu udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie o sens zgłoszenia interwencji ubocznej w kontekście możliwości dopozwania osoby trzeciej do procesu.
    It may happen that after initiating a civil trial, it turns out that in the initiated proceedings there are not all entities directly interested in its resolution. The Code of Conduct provides for two different, albeit essentially similar, institutions that allow access to proceedings already pending to other entities than originally indicated in the action of a party to the proceedings. Both the institution of the secondary intervention and the subjective transformations are the institutions provided for by the Code of Civil Procedure only for a trial. Depending on the mode of initiating entry into the process, the person joining it becomes a secondary intervenient or a defendant co-participant in the proceedings. This study deals with the issue of independent (qualified) secondary intervention and one of several types of subjective transformations in the proceedings - additional summons in accordance with art. 194 § 3 Kp.c. The aim of this paper is to discuss and attempt to confront both institutions in order to answer the question about the meaning of reporting secondary intervention in the context of the possibility of adding a third party to the proceedings.

    In this paper we present the analysis of changes in perceiving subjective determinants of success in Poland, including implicit attitudes towards the idea of meritocracy. On the basis of factor analysis, we have prepared two scales for the ‘meritocratic’ and ‘family and friends’ dimensions of opinion about path to success. We investigate how support for these scales is differentiated and influenced by sociodemographic characteristics and social class.We accompany in the paper the analysis of ‘meritocratic’ and ‘family and friends’ scales with the analysis of the changing support for individual determinants, such as for example ‘hard work’, ‘good education’ and ‘knowing the right people’. We examine how the opinion of the same group of people on path to success changes over time and to which extend radical changes have occurred in the perception of certain determinants. Our analyses are based on data from the Polish Panel Survey (POLPAN, 1988–2013), where the question as to what conditions success in life was asked in every survey wave. It provides an opportunity to compare attitudes towards success from just before regime transformation and every five years thereafter. We place in the paper a particular emphasis in the paper on previously unanalysed data from the years 2008–2013.
