- Not only students themselves but also the universities or higher schools they study at should be responsible for their professional success in the job market and be equally interested in the question of how to meet the challenge they may soon face with. The solution to that problem may also be found in students’ internship realized in the period of studies. This paper presents the results of the research conducted to learn what students of English and Applied Linguistics think about the methods of teaching they are offered, the curricula and professional internship. Moreover, it describes the way in which the internship mentioned is realized in the State School of Higher Professional Education in Płock. At the same time the paper tries to answer the question whether the form of internship offered meets the expectations of those eager to look for their future career in the field of professional translation practice.
