The article contains evaluation of the housing development in Poland in 2005-2008. The analysis includes, in particular, economic and organizational aspects of housing projects as regards their size, investors' structure, and methods of construction. It also presents rates of housing development intensification, which illustrate living conditions in a territorial arrangement.

The amount of family income is a factor conditioning the size and structure of consumption. It is also a determinant of a family’s behavior, as it enables to satisfy the basic human needs and it is an essential element of the quality of each family’s life. Income also affects the relationship between both spouses, parents and children. Household budget also generates development and education of children, it allows or restricts their perspectives for the future. Difficult financial situation of Polish families imposes limitations on the basic consumption needs.

This article reviews the literature of psychological, to show the richness and diversity of criteria, based on which scholars dealing with issues of family will attempt to define it. Given the extent of thematic work particularly focused on the presentation of the typology of families, formed on the basis of the structure of the family. The theoretical analysis of the result two main conclusions. The first relates to the fact that the systematic attempt to diverse groups of family indeed serve as cleanup discussed the phenomenon of social and allow a better understanding of the specificity of the functioning of the categories of families. In addition, allow the capture of the problems and difficulties that are associated with them. While the second proposal relates to the fact that the multiplicity and diversity found in the literature typology of families, combined with a large number of different terms used to define them is a problem for researchers involved in this issue.

Artykuł jest opracowaniem empirycznym wykorzystującym w procesie weryfikacji analizę danych empirycznych zgromadzonym przez autora w ramach projektu finansowanego z funduszu Urzędu Marszałkowskiego Województwa Zachodniopomorskiego nt.: „Prowadzenie badań dotyczących jakości życia i potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych”. Głównym celem procesu wyjaśniania prezentowanego opracowania jest identyfikacja znaczenia aktywności zawodowej osób z niepełnosprawnością w procesie konstytuowania się ich jakości życia. Proces weryfikacji został oparty o model teoretyczny jakości życia E. Allarda. Przesłanką empiryczną procedury weryfikacji był zgromadzony przez autora, obszerny zbiór danych zagregowanych (2822 jednostkowe pomiary). Pozwolił on na sformułowanie wniosków zarówno odnoszących się do Allardowskich kategorii jakości życia, jak i roli pracy dla percypowania przez badanych różnorodnych jej wymiarów.
The article is an empirical study using, in the verification process, the analysis of empirical data collected by the author as part of a project funded by the Marshal's Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship on the subject: „Conducting research on the quality of life and the needs of people with disabilities”. The main purpose of the process of explaining the presented study is to identify the importance of professional activity of people with disabilities in the process of constituting their quality of life. The verification process was based on the theoretical model of the quality of life by E. Allard. The empirical premise of the verification procedure was the extensive aggregate data collected by the author (2822 unit measurements). It allowed the formulation of conclusions which were referring to the quality of life categories by Allard as well as the role of work for the perceiving of its various dimensions by the respondents.

Economic and political changes which took place in Poland at the beginning of 90s had a considerable influences on the Polish labour market. The unemployment was one of the many negative results. This phenomenon was a new and unfamiliar situation for majority of Polish society. The socialist society was free from the problem of unemployment. The situation changed dramatically at the beginning of 1990s, when the unemployment was increasing very fast. There are many types of unemployment, the worst of which is a long-term unemployment with its negative consequences for a given family. The consequences of unemployment are not only economic, but also social. It affects the realization of the basic functions of families. The lack of work influences the life of families, disturbing their functioning. As a result, there is a growing number of poor families and even chronic poverty. Therefore, the unemployment is defined as a present social matter, witch requires some solutions. The fundamental aim of this article is to discuss the social structure of Polish unemployment as well as the influence of the unemployment on the situation of Polish families. The issue was presented from the perspective of political and economic transformations occurring in Poland after 1989 and their influence on the shape of the labour market in Poland. The first part of the article deals with the problem – of the causes and the level the unemployment. The second part presents the social structure of Polish unemployment. The next part of the article discusses the implications of the unemployment for families, whereas in the last part there will be presented the governmental forms of supporting families and activating the unemployed.

The general considerations presented in this article, referring to the pedagogical aspect of the functioning of the family in the context of socio-educational conditions show that the most important part in those conditions is played by the right organisation of relationships among the family members. The contemporary family functions in conditions dramatically different from those of a few decades ago. Taking that into consideration, we should bear in minds that the present conditions caused the constant presence of hatred, alienation and anxiety – and worse still – lack of the sense of safety among family members. In spite of the occurrences outside the family, it is essential to remember that each family creates its own micro-world giving the sense of cohesion which, at the same time, is the basis of its existence. Lasting emotional relationships in a family, the need to equalise personality differences and the influence of parents and children on one another – based on mutual partnership – lead to the creation of the psychological sense of unity and identity in the behaviour of all the persons in the family structure. Therefore for each of us the family is an imperishable value as, by the right relationships among its members, it builds lasting social and emotional bonds. It gives each person support and a firm basis for unquestionable principles and ways of solving problems, also those outside the family, as well as the ability to function in difficult life situations.

Farnesyl diphosphate synthase (FPPS) is a key enzyme in isoprenoid biosynthesis which supplies sesquiterpene precursors for several classes of essential metabolites including sterols, dolichols, ubiquinones and carotenoids as well as substrates for farnesylation and geranylgeranylation of proteins. It catalyzes the sequential head-to-tail condensation of two molecules of isopentenyl diphosphate with dimethylallyl diphosphate. The enzyme is a homodimer of subunits, typically having two aspartate-rich motifs with two sets of substrate binding sites for an allylic diphosphate and isopentenyl diphosphate per homodimer. The synthase amino-acid residues at the 4th and 5th positions before the first aspartate rich motif mainly determine product specificity. Hypothetically, type I (eukaryotic) and type II (eubacterial) FPPSs evolved from archeal geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase by substitutions in the chain length determination region. FPPS belongs to enzymes encoded by gene families. In plants this offers the possibility of differential regulation in response to environmental changes or to herbivore or pathogen attack.

The article assesses the prospects of the research on the population and family of the Kiev Voivodeship in the 18th century. The article has been based on the analysis of archival existing materials, which potentially might become a basis for such research (birth and death registers of various religions, censuses, state tax tables). The diversity and quantity of the research material makes it possible to work out detailed analytical methods. The second half of the century is especially rich in sources, and the condition of the existing materials allows a detailed analysis of the state and dynamics of changes in the population of the whole region at several points of time. Prospects of the research on the structure and size of the family and household of various social and ethnic groups seem promising. Among other things the materials concerning two censuses carried out by the Polish and Russian authorities have survived. In spite of the territorial and chronological incompatibility of the materials they offer many possibilities to analyse most of the potential research questions, especially the ones concerning the second half of the century.

Raising children in single-parent families has been recognized as a serious problem which results in the situation where single parents (except for families where the absence of either parent is caused by their death) find themselves in conflict with the Catholic teaching on marriage. The situation influences the functioning of the family and the way the offspring are raised. The categories of single-parent families show certain similarities in the ways of their functioning. It is important to notice that in the single-parent families of unmarried people there appears to be significant lack of the emotional bond between the child and the absent parent. It is unique in such a group of families not to allow the presence of the other parent, mostly the father. In most cases the single parent who raises the child creates a negative image of the absent parent. In case of divorce, the excluded parent is deprived of the possibility to positively influence his or her own children. In fateful situations, it is death that excludes one of the parents from the family life. In order to prevent creating single-parent families we should take care of forming personal culture and the proper choice of a partner who will aim at setting up a full family. The partners who are going to set up a family should be taught how to be responsible for their life decisions and for the members of their families. The future parents should set up their full families in a mature and wise way because only such full families can be an ideal place for upbringing the child and for preparing him or her for their life in society.

The aim of this study was to determine the functioning of mothers in terms of communication and styles of education, including family structure, gender and age of the adolescent. Hypotheses were based on the assumption that if a mother is the most important person in the family, then there will be no differences between single mother and the mother from complete family in the assessment of communication and styles of education in adolescents’s opinion. It was assumed that the assessment of the quality of the relationship will be affected by gender and age of adolescents. There were studied 148 adolescents with complete families and 237 who raised by single mothers, using a Parent Adolescent Communication Scale (PACS) and a Survey of Upbringing Style. Analysis of variance revealed that communication with the mother is satisfying, regardless of family structure, which strongly differentiate the democratic parenting style, and gender-style liberal. There were seen a significant interaction between gender and age of adolescent, conditioning the open communication and interaction with the mother adolescent age and family structure substantially influences on the liberal loving style.

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the structure of the family of origin and tendency to forgive by investigating attachment as a potential mediating variable. Polish version of the FACES-IV (Olson & Gorall, 2003; Margasiński, 2015); the Heartland Forgiveness Scale (Thompson et al., 2005; Kaleta, Mróz, & Guzewicz, 2016), the Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins, & Read, 1990; Collins, 1995/2008; Adamczyk, 2012) were used. The sample consisted of 91 individuals aged 19–26 (58.25% females). The results showed that maladaptive family of origin structures are associated with a lower level of dispositional forgiveness. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between adaptive family of origin structures and dispositional forgiveness. Furthermore, the results indicate that insecure attachment is a mediator in the relationship between the maladaptive family of origin structure and dispositional forgiveness.

Opracowanie o charakterze komparatystycznym jest próbą ukazania sytuacji życiowej i jakości funkcjonowania rodzin wychowujących dziecko z zespołem Downa na tle sytuacji statystycznych rodzin polskich wychowujących dziecko o prawidłowym rozwoju i porównywalnym wieku życia. Celem podjętych badań była próba udzielenia odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: — Czy, i w jakim stopniu przyjście na świat i zaistnienie w rodzinie dziecka z zespołem Downa wywiera wpływ na organizację i standard życia w rodzinie oraz na spoistość więzi między jej członkami? — Czy, i w jakim stopniu sytuacja rodzin wychowujących dziecko z zespołem Downa różni się od sytuacji przeciętnych, współczesnych polskich rodzin? Za podstawę badań przyjęto metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, której podporządkowano techniki: obserwacji, rozmowy ukierunkowanej i wywiadu. Materiał empiryczny zebrano za pomocą kilku narzędzi (w większości opracowanych intencjonalnie na okoliczność zaplanowanego programu badań). Badaniami objęto 186 rodzin, w tym 86 (46,2%) rodzin wychowujących dziecko z zespołem Downa (grupa podstawowa – P) oraz 100 (53,8%) statystycznych rodzin odniesienia (grupa kontrolna – K). Uzyskane wyniki badań poddano empirycznej i statystycznej weryfikacji po to, by na ich podstawie opracować ważne dla praktyki uogólnienia i wnioski.
The development of this comparison is an attempt to present the life situation and the quality of the functioning of families with a child with Down syndrome against the background of the statistical situation of Polish families raising a child with normal development of a comparable age. The aim of the study was to answer the following questions: — Are there impacts and, if so, to what extent of the coming into the world and the existence of a family of a child with Down syndrome on the organization and the standard of living and in the family ties and cohesion among its members? — Whether and to what extent the situation of families with a child with Down syndrome is different from that of ordinary, contemporary Polish families? As a basis for these studies the diagnostic survey method was used, which was subordinated to the techniques of observation, targeted interviews and intelligence. The empirical material was collected using several tools (mostly drawn from the planned research program). The study included 186 families, including 86 (46.2%) of families with a child with Down’s syndrome (primary group – P) and 100 (53.8%) of families statistical reference (control group – K). The results were empirical and statistical verification in order to develop on the basis of their importance to the practice of generalizations and conclusions.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie doboru gospodarstw do badań, dotyczących ich technologicznej i ekologicznej modernizacji. Podstawę doboru stanowiły przeprowadzone w 2009 r. ankiety, skierowane do 56 gospodarstw rodzinnych, położonych w różnych regionach kraju. Przeanalizowano zasady celowego doboru gospodarstw rolnych do badań. Wybrane gospodarstwa posiadały łącznie 2533,99 ha UR. Średnio na jeden obiekt przypada 45,25 ha UR i 38,96 ha GO. Średnia roczna produkcja towarowa mięsa w badanych gospodarstwach wyniosła 26,06 t, a zbóż - 61,17 t. Każde z gospodarstw było wyposażone w co najmniej dwa ciągniki i co najmniej jedną przyczepę ciągnikową. Stwierdzono, że gospodarstwa rolne spełniają wymagania dotyczące minimalnej powierzchni użytków rolnych, posiadanego wyposażenia technicznego oraz zróżnicowania pod względem produkcji.
Paper aimed at the presentation of selecting farms for a survey concerning their technological and ecological modernization. Selection was based on the inquiry carried out in 2009, addressed to 56 family farms located in different regions of the country. The rules of purposeful selecting the farms for survey were analyzed. Chosen farms covered in total 2533.99 ha agricultural land. On average, the acreage of one object amounted to 45.25 ha agricultural land and 38.96 ha arable land. Average annual commercial production of meat in surveyed farms reached 26.06 t, while the cereal grain 61.17 t. Each farm was equipped at least with two agricultural tractors and at least one tractor trailer. It was stated that selected farms fulfill the requirements regarding minimum surface of agricultural land, the technical equipment being at disposal as well as the differentiation in respect of production.

Wybudowane w latach 1970–2018 osiedle budownictwa jednorodzinnego „Szadkowice–Ogrodzim” ze względu na swoją powierzchnię, liczbę i kubaturę budynków uważane jest za największą inwestycję mieszkaniową w gminie Szadek z okresu powojennego (po 1945 r.). Osiedle reprezentuje odmienny zespół wartości, wynikających z nieokreślonego dla całości programu ideowego, przyjmowanych w różnych okresach powstawania założeń układu przestrzennego. W niektórych fragmentach dążono do spójnej formy architektonicznej zabudowy i charakterystyki technicznej budynków. To znaczące dzieło przestrzenne okresu powojennego w sąsiedztwie małego miasta, jakim jest Szadek, jest cennym przykładem koncepcji urbanistycznej na terenach wiejskich obrzeży miast. Artykuł niniejszy ma na celu dokonanie szeroko rozumianej oceny stanu założenia, po prawie 50 latach od rozpoczęcia budowy.
The single-family housing estate “Szadkowice–Ogrodzim”, built in 1970–2018, is considered the largest residential investment project of the post-war period (after 1945) in the municipality of Szadek in terms of area, number and volume of buildings. The estate represents a diverse set of values, which results from an unspecified ideological program ad-opted at various times in the formation of spatial layout assumptions. In some parts, a coherent architectural form of buildings and technical characteristics was sought. This article attempts to make a broadly understood assessment of the condition of this estate after almost 50 years from the commencement of construction. This large-scale project, carried out in the post-war period in the vicinity of a small town, Szadek, is a valuable example of urban planning in rural areas surrounding the city. Despite the supra-local value of the “Szadkowice–Ogrodzim” housing estate, it has rarely been the subject of studies and publications.
