Polish accession to the European Union and including Polish agriculture to the Common Agricultural Policy has contributed to a numerous of social and structural transformations. The Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship did not avoid these changes. It can be seen in the structure of farm, the way of land use, the specialization, the technological advancement or modernization of farms. Indicators of changes in the dynamics and structure and functions of trends allow to analyze transformations. The use of these research methods allow to trace the transformations in agriculture after 2004 and their development trends. The purpose of this article is to study the direction of the changes taking place in farms of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship after Polish accession to the European Union. (original abstract)

Zaprezentowano wyniki wielowariantowych prób przecinania metodami skoncentrowanej wiązki energii (plazma, laser), pokazując różnorodne możliwości kształtowania geometrii powierzchni obrabianych elementów. Publikacja ma charakter prezentacji praktycznego doświadczenia przemysłowego i formułuje utylitarne wnioski.
The report compares possible to the obtainment, in industrial conditions, parameters of the surfaces quality, on edges in typical constructional materials of metal industry. Allowing the pragmatic answer on the question, about the roughness of the surface, while laser and plasma cutting. Details executed from coal steel S235JRG2 and stainless steel 0H18N9. Showing the varied possibilities of formation the geometry of the surface. The publication has the character of the practical industrial experience and formulates utilitarian conclusions.

Opis:: The article presents the structural changes occurring in the Polish labour market due to innovation. The analysis covers the 2006-2010 period. The impact of innovation on employment is related to the so-called creative destruction, which means that innovation on the one hand destroys the existing jobs, but on the other creates new ones. The analysis has demonstrated that the rise in employment and the related shifts in employment structure are determined by the type of innovation introduced. The organizational innovations had a greater impact on the size and structure of employment than the technological ones.

The article describes the progress, directions, and effects of structural and ownership transformations in the power sector in Poland in the past two decades, with a particular emphasis on their impact on energy security. In order to explain the objectives of the energy market reform, the paper introduces the concept and definition of energy security. The author characterizes the situation of the power sector at the beginning of the Polish political transformation, and the objectives of the government policy related to the reform. He uses the characteristics to present his own conclusions of the study on the effects of the reform in the power sector with regard to the condition of the Polish energy security, mainly from the point of view of energy consumers. The text closes with an analytical presentation of the main determinants of the structural transformation processes in the power sector in Poland, completing it with a short summary.

Opis:: Many studies on middle income trap draw attention to the product trap that can be expressed as the fact that countries are stuck in the production and export of unsophisticated products. In this sense, it is stated that the role of a country in the production and export of sophisticated goods is one of the determinant factors to increase the level of income. In the literature, the concept of economic complexity, which is expressed as gaining competitiveness of complex products in terms of production and export, is noteworthy in recent years. In this framework, relationship between the per capita GDP and the economic complexity is examined with regression analysis in this study for selected countries with high-level of income. In the analysis, in which random coefficient panel regression model is applied, a significant relationship was found between the two variables for Austria, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, Norway, Singapore and Sweden.

Opis:: The article presents the problem of structuralism in cultural anthropology as an example of interpretation in the humanities. The main goal is a critical description of Edmund Leach’s proposal put forward in his Against Genres: Are Parables Lights Set in Candlesticks or Put Under a Bushel? The proposed method, as well as its application to biblical texts, is analysed from the perspective of philosophy of science. The analysis leads to the description of areas in which the author breaches the rules of the method proposed by himself.

Opis:: Celem badania było zbadanie związku między gospodarką nieformalną a produktywnością rolnictwa w Bangladeszu na przestrzeni 25 lat od 1993 do 2018 r. Mimo tego, że wpływ sektora nieformalnego na gospodarkę został dogłębnie zbadany, jego implikacje dla sektora rolnego w tym konkretnym kraju były mniej zbadane. Kontrolując transformację strukturalną, handel i bezpośrednie inwestycje zagraniczne (BIZ) w rolnictwie, zastosowano opóźniony rozproszony model autoregresyjny (ARDL) przy użyciu przybliżeń Kripfganza i Schneidera (2018), a także całkowicie zmodyfikowanej zwykłej metody najmniejszych kwadratów (FMOLS) i wykonalnej uogólnionej metody najmniejszych kwadratów (FGLS). Wyniki wskazują, że gospodarka nieformalna początkowo ogranicza produktywność rolnictwa w krótkim okresie ze względu na zmniejszone dochody rządowe, ale w dłuższym okresie działa jako aktywny system ochrony socjalnej, wspierając nieformalne zatrudnienie i zapewniając podstawowe udogodnienia o charakterze codziennym. Mimo że zakres czasowy badania ogranicza badanie do tego konkretnego okresu, służy ono jako kluczowa próba oceny wpływu sektora nieformalnego na rolnictwo w Bangladeszu, podkreślając potrzebę ostrożnego rozważenia zarówno korzyści, jak i wad tego sektora w zwiększaniu wydajności rolnictwa. Istotne jest, aby decydenci w Bangladeszu postępowali ostrożnie, uwzględniając niuanse wpływu nieformalnego sektora na rolnictwo, i wykorzystując jego potencjał do zrównoważonego wzrostu gospodarczego.
The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between the informal economy and agricultural productivity in Bangladesh over a 25-year period from 1993 to 2018. While the impact of the black market on the economy is a well-studied topic, its implications for the agricultural sector in this specific country context was less explored. By controlling structural transformation, trade, and foreign direct investment (FDI) in agriculture, the authors employ autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) using Kripfganz and Schneider’s (2018) approximations, as well as fully modified ordinary least square (FMOLS) and feasible generalized least square (FGLS) techniques. The results reveal that informality initially hampers agricultural productivity in the short term due to reduced government revenue, but in the long run, it acts as an active social protection system, fostering informal employment and providing essential amenities. Although the study’s time span limits the investigation to this specific period, it serves as a crucial attempt to assess the impact of informality on agriculture in Bangladesh, highlighting the need for cautious consideration of both the benefits and drawbacks of the informal sector in enhancing agricultural productivity. Policymakers in Bangladesh should act cautiously, acknowledging the nuances of the informal sector’s influence on agriculture to leverage its potential for sustainable economic growth.

Opis:: The article presents problems of unemployment in the districts of the coastal gminas in West Pomerania Voievodship. The region is characterized by high touristic attraction and considerable volume of investment into touristic services. Besides rapidly developing areas, there are also agriculture districts characterized by the necessity to increase incomes of the inhabitants and improve the condition of infrastructure. The aim of the article is to answer the question: does tourism in its economic aspect stimulate economic performances and in consequence cause a considerable decrease of unemployment in the described region. Analysis includes differences of unemployment intensity and its structural factors that allow to identify the causes and also to define options and directions of further transformations.
Województwo zachodniopomorskie pełni w przestrzeni społeczno-gospodarczej kraju wiele znaczących funkcji. Do tych, dla których po roku dziewięćdziesiątym powstały sprzyjające warunki rozwoju, należy niewątpliwie funkcja turystyczna, wyraźnie skoncentrowana tu w nadmorskiej strefie rekreacyjnej. Wśród licznych korzyści wynikających z rozwoju turystyki, najczęściej wymienia się te związane z jej funkcją ekonomiczną, często wskazując, że turystyka przyczynia się do redukcji bezrobocia i tworzenia nowych miejsc pracy w branżach obsługujących bezpośrednio lub pośrednio uczestników ruchu turystycznego. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że gminy o bardzo dobrze rozwiniętej funkcji turystycznej, charakteryzujące się wysoką liczbą miejsc noclegowych (zwłaszcza całorocznych – sanatoria, zielone szkoły itp.) cechuje większa dynamika spadku poziomu bezrobocia w okresach ożywienia gospodarczego. Jednak rosnące uzależnienie gospodarki lokalnej od zewnętrznego popytu na przybrzeżne walory rekreacyjne i usługi turystyczne powoduje w znacznym zakresie sezonowość dochodów mieszkańców i sezonowy charakter pracy w usługach turystycznych. Pociąga to za sobą duże wahania poziomu bezrobocia w ciągu roku oraz znaczący jego wzrost w okresie dekoniunktury. W gminach o charakterze rolniczym lub z dużym udziałem rolnictwa niemożność rewitalizacji rynku pracy po dawnych strukturach pegeerowskich oraz brak integracji gospodarki żywnościowej z turystyką w dalszym ciągu stanowią problem. W gminach słabiej wykorzystywanych turystycznie wystąpił większy stopień utrwalenia zjawiska bezrobocia, co wskazuje na jego wyraźnie strukturalne podłoże. Mieszkańcy i władze tych terenów najczęściej opatrują możliwości zwiększenia dochodów i poprawy sytuacji na rynku pracy w lepszym zagospodarowaniu turystycznym, co z kolei może powodować zagrożenie inwestycjami i działaniami obniżającymi walory rekreacyjne, ze względu na dużą atrakcyjność tych obszarów i brak podstawowej infrastruktury technicznej. Niedostatek miejsc pracy występuję także na obszarach o bardzo dobrze rozwiniętej funkcji turystycznej, co jest wynikiem uwarunkowań makroekonomicznych. Bezrobocie na tych terenach ma jednak w większym stopniu charakter koniunkturalny, na co wskazuje większą płynność rynku pracy.

Opis:: This article addresses the topic of technological transformation, which is a challenge for progressing automation and robotization processes. The topic is extremely important in terms of changes in contemporary global reality. On the one hand, changes in production factors, automation and robotization processes, and changes in the labor market give rise to some fears, on the other hand, they can be a chance to build a new socio-economic order based on the pillars of sustainability. This system requires the application of the rules of universal behavior and the recognition of work as value in itself. These rules are an important recommendation and basis for shaping decisions in the sphere of choosing new order and ensuring sustainability, rather than only in consumption. The article synthesizes existing research, which was the basis for further studies and the following hypothesis has been adopted: automation and robotization processes will result in turbulence on the labor market and in the social sphere. The key purpose of this article is demonstrate that currently automation and robotization are not the subject of systemic research in the field of shaping the structural order in the economic and social sphere, to develop a scheme of technological transformation and to indicate the need to build a strategy for automation and robotization by states that will ensure strategic order and security. Today, we need to think what should be done to ensure that automation and robotization, as well as the resulting income, do not push the crowds of society into the sphere of lucky losers. Will the distribution of benefits that automation and robotization give today affect the few or all of us? Will the economy and society based on these processes retain the value of work, and will the profits generated from automation and robotics contribute to prosperity, sustainability and development? Are decision makers ready today to prepare comprehensive solutions? The answer to these questions must be formulated today, because modernity will not pass us by.
W artykule podjęto temat transformacji technologicznej, która jest wyzwaniem dla postępujących procesów automatyzacji i robotyzacji. Temat jest niezwykle istotny z punktu widzenia zmian w czynnikach produkcji. Zachodzące procesy automatyzacji i robotyzacji, zmiany na rynku pracy z jednej strony budzą pewne obawy, z drugiej mogą być szansą na zbudowanie nowego ładu społeczno-gospodarczego opartego na filarach zrównoważenia i trwałości. Wymaga stosowania reguł powszechnego postępowania i uznania pracy za wartość samą w sobie. Reguły te stanowią istotne wskazania i bazę dla kształtowania decyzji w sferze wyboru nowego ładu i zapewnienia zrównoważenia, a nie tylko konsumpcji. W artykule dokonano syntezy istniejących badań, które stanowiły bazę dla dalszych studiów i przyjęto hipotezę, że procesy automatyzacji oraz robotyzacji będą skutkowały turbulencjami na rynku pracy, a także w sferze społecznej. Kluczowym celem niniejszego artykułu jest: wykazanie, że obecnie automatyzacja i robotyzacja nie stanowi przedmiotu badań od strony systemowej w zakresie kształtowania ładu strukturalnego w sferze gospodarczej i społecznej; opracowanie schematu transformacji technologicznej; wskazanie na potrzebę zbudowania strategii automatyzacji i robotyzacji przez państwa, która zapewni ład i bezpieczeństwo strategiczne. Dzisiaj musimy zastanowić się, co należy uczynić, aby automatyzacja i robotyzacja oraz płynący z nich dochód gwarantowany nie zepchnął rzeszy społeczeństwa w sferę szczęśliwi przegrani. Czy dystrybucja korzyści, jakie dają już dziś automatyzacja i robotyzacja będzie dotyczyć nielicznych, czy też nas wszystkich? Czy gospodarka i społeczeństwo oparte na tych procesach zachowa wartość pracy, a zyski wypracowywane z procesów automatyzacji i robotyzacji przyczynią się do budowania dobrobytu, procesów zrównoważenia i rozwoju? Czy decydenci są dziś gotowi na przygotowanie kompleksowych rozwiązań? Odpowiedź na te pytania musimy sformułować już dziś, bo nowoczesność nas nie ominie.

Opis:: This article presents the analysis and assessment of the labour market at the time of implementing the system of market economy in Ukraine. The analysis is conducted based on the principles of new institutional economy. The objective of the study is to identify the main trends of the economic development and labour market to analyse public policy in the area of employment and provide some of recommendations for improving labour market in the current socioeconomic conditions. The study has been based on the available statistical data as well as national and foreign literature with a particular focus on the new institutional economy. Also state legislation concerning labour market and employment in Ukraine has been referred to. The analysis and assessment of the status of employment and the functioning of labour market in Ukraine concerned the period from 2010 to 2014. Until 2013 both the number of employment and the employment rate increased slowly but systematically. In 2014 a rapid labour market collapse occurred. Transformations of labour market and rationalisations of ployment are related to structural transformations and the implementation of the system of market economy. New legislative basics and institutional changes ought to be continued while taking into account the need of qualitative changes and purposeful shaping of policy of labour market expansion.
Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza i ocena rynku pracy w warunkach wdrażania systemu gospodarki rynkowej na Ukrainie. Analiza jest prowadzona z uwzględnieniem zasad nowej ekonomii instytucjonalnej. Celem pracy jest rozpoznanie głównych trendów rozwoju gospodarczego i rynku pracy, analiza polityki publicznej w sferze zatrudnienia i przygotowanie rekomendacji dla usprawnienia rynku pracy w aktualnych warunkach ekonomiczno-społecznych. Praca wykonana w oparciu o dostępne dane statystyczne oraz krajową i zagraniczną literaturę przedmiotu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem nowej ekonomii instytucjonalnej. Wykorzystano także legislację państwową dotyczącą rynku pracy i zatrudnienia w Ukrainie. Przeprowadzono analizę i ocenę stanu zatrudnienia i funkcjonowania rynku pracy na Ukrainie w okresie 2010-2014. Do 2013 r. zarówno liczba zatrudnionych, jak i stopa zatrudnienia systematycznie, chociaż powoli wzrastały. Natomiast w 2014 r. nastąpiło gwałtowne załamanie rynku pracy. Przekształcenia rynku pracy i racjonalizacja zatrudnienia przebiegają w powiązaniu z przekształceniami strukturalnymi i wdrożeniem systemu gospodarki rynkowej. Nowe podstawy legislacyjne i zmiany instytucjonalne winne być kontynuowane z uwzględnieniem potrzeby zmian jakościowych i celowym kształtowaniem polityki rozszerzania rynku pracy.

Opis:: This article explores a theatre performance (National Theatre Pécs, 2003, dir. Iván Hargitai) working with a 1999 Hungarian translation of Hamlet by educator, scholar, translator and poet Ádám Nádasdy as a structural transformation (Fischer-Lichte 1992) of the dramatic text for the stage. The performance is perceived as an intersemiotic translation but not as one emerging from a source-to-target one-way route. The study focuses on certain substructures such as the set design and the multimedial nature of the performance (as defined by Giesekam 2007), and by highlighting intertextual and hypertextual ways of accessing this performance-as-translation it questions the ‘of’ in the ‘performance of Hamlet (or insert other dramatic title)’ phrase. This experimentation with the terminology around performance-as-translation also facilitates the unveiling of a layer of the complex Hungarian Hamlet palimpsest, which, as a multi-layered cultural phenomenon, consists of much more than literary texts: its fabric includes theatre performance and other creative works.

Opis:: This paper presents structural changes that took place in Poland after 1989, and which enabled its transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. The deep and thorough legal, economic and social reforms undertaken in that period made it possible, after years of communist rule, to shape a new, democratic system. The systemic transformation was possibleowing to some basic amendments to the Constitution, including the articles defining the essence of ownership and the duty to respect it, as well as the adoption of other legal acts necessary to re-define ownership relationships (such as the law on commercialisation and privatisation of state-owned enterprises, or the law on the management of agricultural property). The concurrent reforms of the banking system and the monetary and credit policy enabled inflow of foreign capital and development of private entrepreneurship. As a result of the transformations of the past 25 years, Poland is now a democratic state and a member of the European Union, while Polish economy is getting increasingly competitive. Sadly enough, despite these substantial structural transformations in the ownership sphere, in the last quarter of the century Poland has continued to be unable to resolve the problem of returning to the lawful owners the property taken by the communist regime.
Artykuł przedstawia zmiany systemowe wprowadzone w Polsce po 1989 r., które umożliwiły przejście z gospodarki centralnie sterowanej do wolnorynkowej. Podjęcie głębokich i szerokim reform o charakterze prawnym, gospodarczym i społecznym pozwoliło na ukształtowanie demokratycznego ustroju po wielu latach sprawowania władzy komunistycznej. Transformacja systemowa była możliwa dzięki znaczącym przemianom podstaw prawnych, począwszy od zmian w ustawie zasadniczej, określającej istotę prawa własności i obowiązek jego poszanowania, poprzez uchwalenie innych aktów prawnych koniecznych do zmiany stosunków własnościowych (takich jak ustawy o komercjalizacji i prywatyzacji przedsiębiorstw państwowych, prawa o działalności gospodarczej czy ustawy o gospodarowaniu nieruchomościami rolnymi). Równoległe reformy systemu bankowego oraz polityki pieniężno-kredytowej umożliwiły napływ kapitału zagranicznego i pozwoliły na rozwój prywatnej przedsiębiorczości. W wyniku przemian ustrojowych, jakie zaszły w ostatnich 25 latach, Polska jako demokratyczne państwo prawa jest członkiem Unii Europejskiej, a polska gospodarka rynkowa staje się coraz bardziej konkurencyjna. Niestety, mimo głębokich przekształceń w sferze własnościowej, Polska przez ostatnie ćwierćwiecze nie rozwiązała kwestii zwrotu prawowitym właścicielom własności przejętej bezprawnie przez władze komunistyczne.

Opis:: Industry 4.0 (I4.0), driven by the need to access real-time insights and information across the manufacturing process, creates a disruptive impact on industries. Largescale machine-to-machine communication, virtual reality (VR), the Internet of Things (IoT), simulation technologies and network management are integrated for increased automation, machine learning, self-controlled social and technical systems (Smart Factories). The uptake of advanced manufacturing solutions represents a challenge for businesses and SMEs in particular. SMEs possess neither the organisational capability nor financial resources to systematically investigate the potential and risks of introducing Industry 4.0. However, the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution is a matter of technology and cooperation between European regions to share knowledge concerning alternative regional and national approaches to reinforcing the I4.0 uptake. Therefore, this paper primarily aims to analyse practical experience on how European policies related to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) can unlock the full potential of Industry 4.0 and overcome the fragmentation of Industry 4.0 solutions. Case studies of successful transfer of I4.0 to SMEs in Europe and supporting regional policy instruments presented in the paper could inspire and enable the potential of digitalisation by dealing with main challenges hampering their diffusion into the business ecosystem.

Opis:: The crisis of the euro area is undoubtedly a continuation of the global crisis that started on the real estate market in the USA; and from there spread to Europe; touching Greek economy the hardest. The purpose of this article is the analysis of causes of economic crisis in Greece and to determine high performance methods to its overcoming. To develop effective methods to combat the crisis and prevent future breakdowns changes must cover not only Greek economic policy; but also a mechanism for international cooperation. The crisis of the euro area turned out to be not only a crisis of the economies of member countries; but also of the mechanism of integration. It is especially about the economic policy carried out at the level of the EU institutions that affects the economic policies of individual member countries. Hence the article tries to find an answer to the question; what changes should be made in Greek economic policy as well as in the EU institutional framework to overcome the present crisis and to prevent its occurrence in the future. A permanent solution of the crisis can be only a transformation of Greek economy that was most acutely affected by a decline in production and an increase in unemployment.

Opis:: Przedmiotem badań w artykule jest transformacja gospodarcza. Celem artykułu jest ocena przebiegu, efektów oraz profili transformacji wyróżnionej grupy dwunastu krajów (ET-12). Tworzą one geograficznie pas od Bałtyku, przez kraje Europy Centralnej do Adriatyku i Morza Czarnego. Okres analizy to perspektywa długoterminowa, tj. lata 1990–2017. W badaniach empirycznych wykorzystano miary tranzycji. Umożliwiły one ocenę transformacji w dwóch płaszczyznach: ogólnej – przebudowa instytucji i rynków (zmiany transformacyjne) oraz szczegółowej – zmiany strukturalne w sektorach gospodarki. Skonstruowano i wykorzystano miary łączne, a także miarę syntetyczną opisującą całokształt procesów transformacji. Wobec rozpoznanego nasycenia intensywnością procesów przemian zaprezentowano wyniki oceny badanych krajów w ujęciu oceny konkurencyjności i wzrostu gospodarczego. Wieloprzekrojowe i długookresowe badania krajów ET-12 przyniosły liczne rezultaty badawcze w postaci cząstkowych i szczegółowych ustaleń prezentowanych w artykule. Są one podstawą pozytywnej weryfikacji sformułowanych hipotez na poziomie uogólnionych wniosków: (1) kraje ET-12 wykazują nierównomierność zaawansowania zmian transformacyjnych oraz silne sektorowe zróżnicowanie intensywności zmian strukturalnych, (2) korzystniejsze i zrównoważone rezultaty zmian transformacyjnych są właściwe dla radykalnego modelu przemian, (3) nie występuje związek między modelem przemian a łącznymi rezultatami zmian transformacyjnych i strukturalnych, (4) profile krajów ET-12 są zróżnicowane pod względem efektów przemian, wzrostu gospodarczego i konkurencyjności makroekonomicznej.
The subject of the research presented in the paper is an economic transformation. The aim is to assess the progress, results and profiles of transformation of a distinguished group of twelve countries (ET-12) – from the Baltic Sea, Central Europe, to the Adriatic and the Black Sea. The period which is analysed is a long–term perspective i.e. the years 1990–2017. In empirical studies, measures of transformation changes were used: the general level – reconstruction of institutions and markets and the detailed level – structural changes in the economy. Cumulative and multifeature measures of transformation were constructed and used. In view of the saturation of the intensity of the transformation, the results of the evaluation of the countries surveyed in terms of the assessment of competitiveness and economic growth were presented. Multi–layer and long–term studies have brought a number of research results (partial and detailed findings). They were the basis of a positive verification of formulated hypotheses in the form of generalized conclusions: (1) the ET-12 countries show an uneven progress of transition and strong sectoral differences in the intensity of structural changes, (2) more favorable and sustainable results of transition are adequate for the radical model of change, (3 ) there is no relationship between them model of change and total transition results and structural changes, (4) ET-12 countries’ profiles differ in terms of the effects of transition, economic growth, and macro-economic competitiveness.
