    W transporcie wojsk do przerzutu stanów osobowych oraz sprzętu i zaopatrzenia wykorzystuje się różne środki transportu — do strategicznego przerzutu sił transportu morskiego i lotniczego, a do operacyjnego i taktycznego przede wszystkim transportu lądowego. Transport strategiczny odbywa się pomiędzy morskimi i lotniczymi portami załadowania a morskimi i lotniczymi portami wyładowania. Dowóz sił i środków do portów załadowania i z portów wyładowania do rejonów operacyjnego przeznaczenia odbywa się natomiast przede wszystkim transportem lądowym. Wybór środka transportu zależy od przyjętych kryteriów operacyjnych i ekonomicznych. Do najważniejszych z nich należą czas przemieszczenia sił oraz koszt operacji transportowej.
    Various means of transport are used to transport manpower, equipment and supplies — at strategic level movement of forces is executed primarily by means of sea transport and air transport, and at operational and tactical level land means of transport are used. The strategic lift takes place between Sea Port of Embarkation and Sea Port of Debarkation or between Air Port of Embarkation and Air Port of Debarkation. Movement forces and resources to the SPOE/APOE and from SPOD/APOD to the operational area of destination is realized by land transport. The choice of means of transport depends on adopted operating and economic criteria. The most important of these include time to deploy forces and cost of transport operation.

    Państwa członkowskie NATO zaangażowane są w operacje w różnych rejonach kuli ziemskiej, z reguły znacznie oddalonych od stałych baz sił zbrojnych państw sojuszu. Główny wysiłek związany z przerzutem wojsk spoczywa na strategicznym transporcie morskim, w którym przewóz sprzętu i środków zaopatrzenia realizowany jest pomiędzy morskim portem załadunku i morskim portem wyładunku. Głównym zadaniem jednostki przeznaczonej do przyjęcia, ześrodkowania i dalszego przemieszczania jest przeprowadzenie bezpiecznego rozładunku transportowanego drogą morską sprzętu i zaopatrzenia, zorganizowanie rejonu koncentracji oraz dalsze przesłanie wyposażenia do miejsca docelowego przeznaczenia. Zadania te realizowane są w morskich portach wyładunku, które organizowane są w rejonie prowadzonej operacji, w porcie morskim lub na przystosowanym do rozładunku odcinku nieuzbrojonego brzegu.
    NATO member countries are involved in operations in various parts of the world, as a rule far away from military bases of the allied countries. The main effort aimed at transporting troops is borne by maritime strategic transport, where supplies are carried between an embarkation and a disembarkation port. The main task of a unit designed to receive, concentrate and then move them further is to make a safe disembarkation of supplies carried by sea, organize an area of concentration and further dispatch them to the place of destination. These tasks are carried out in maritime disembarkation ports established in the area of operation, in a maritime harbor, in a stretch of coast adapted to disembarkation.

    In the paper, the consequences of the influence of globalisation on the market of air transport are assessed. It is shown that alliances and code-share agreements constitute fundamental elements of this process. Basic stimuli and their results were analysed and the outcome shows that the aim of global corporations is integrating companies, markets and economic systems into a homogeneous system encompassing the whole world. The aim of this paper is to present the significance of alliances and code-share agreements in the development of globalisation of air transport. Critical analysis of literature and deduction were used, which allowed to formulate appropriate conclusions and recommendations. Additionally, the method of assessment of complexity of relations between air transport and socio-economic phenomena was used. The identification of processes and sources of competitive stimuli along with barriers in functioning, and the development of both, the sector of air transport and the market as a whole were also taken into consideration. The analysis of activity of subjects forming the global market of air transport services under the conditions of growing competition was made.

    Nowadays, the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) have several multinational tasks all over the world. These are changing constantly due to the expansion of the different missions. In the beginning, HDF personnal were participating individually (officers, NCOs), and later by sub-level power in NATO and EU operations. The Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) mission in Afghanistan was the most successful operation of the HDF, which was terminated in March 2013. Hungarian soldiers gained considerable experience in Iraq too, where they served in a Transport Battalion under Polish command (Multinational Division). Based on these facts, this article presents some Hungarian aspects of multinational operations.

    This article is poised to explain the significance, analyze and understand the relationships that are established between partners of a strategic alliance. The analysis conducted was modeled on the example of airline alliances. Airlines decide on operating as alliances due to economic benefits which they would not be able to reach on their own. In the result of their cooperation, these entities produce beneficial synergistic effects. It should be noted that by starting cooperation within an alliance, those entities still remain competitors. The analysis provides a comparison of three largest airline alliances: Star Alliance, SkyTeam and Oneworld. The article contains a summary of the most important conclusions of the analysis.
    Celem artykułu jest objaśnienie istoty, analiza i poznanie związków, jakie zachodzą pomiędzy partnerami aliansu strategicznego. W przeprowadzonej analizie za model przyjęto przykład aliansu lotniczego. Przedsiębiorstwa lotnicze decydują się na działalność w formie aliansu, ponieważ osiągają korzyści ekonomiczne, których nie byłyby w stanie uzyskać samodzielnie. W wyniku współdziałania podmiotów zachodzi pozytywny efekt synergii. Podejmując współpracę w formie aliansu, należy pamiętać, że przedsiębiorstwa współdziałają, pozostając równocześnie konkurentami. W analizie dokonano porównania trzech największych aliansów lotniczych: Star Alliance, SkyTeam oraz Oneworld. Artykuł zawiera zestawienie najważniejszych wniosków przeprowadzonej analizy.

    The maritime transport in Bulgaria is controlled and coordinated by the Executive Agency "Maritime administration". This institutionis a legal entity on budget support to the Ministry of transport, information technology and communications, a second level user of budget credits, based in Sofia with regional offices in Bourgas, Varna, Lom and Rousse (where are the Bulgarian major ports). EAMA status is regulated by the Merchant Shipping Code – Art. 360, para. 1. The problem of forecasting in the new strategic documents is crucial to the formation of proper infrastructure policy which has to be innovative and for the future strategic development of the tourism in the country. This paper is aimed at presenting the lack of real forecasting in many of the strategic documents and projects adopted for the development of the maritime transport in Bulgaria (i.e. Directive2008/106/EC of European Parliament and Council on the minimum level of training of sea farers; Ordinance No. 9 of 2013 on the requirements for operational suitability of ports and specialised port facilities; Ordinance No. 10 of 2014 on the scope and content, preparation, approval and amendment of the general plans of the public transport ports). There are also many Mutual Agreements for Recognition of Seafarers" certificates. The paper provides a practical example for the use of the so called single or simple exponential smoothing without the presence of any seasonality and the lack of cyclicity on the number of passengersarrivals at the Bulgarian maritime ports.

Założenia tej koncepcji przedstawiono w niniejszym artykule.
    Increasing Europe's competitiveness and stimulating investment for job creation is a priority for the European Commission. According to this idea, the European Commission has prepared a threefold initiative to accelerate the recovery from the crisis and investment growth in the years 2015-2017. The paper presents the assumptions of this concept.

Można jednak wyselekcjonować wskaźniki powtarzające się przy każdym podejściu do pomiaru postępów wprowadzania koncepcji rozwoju transportu w życie. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie, opierając się na dostępnych dokumentach oraz doświadczeniach badawczych, mierników zrównoważonego transportu na poziomach międzynarodowym, UE i krajowym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wymiaru regionalnego.
    The factorial sustainable transport measurement is quite a challenge because of a diversified approach to this matter in the subject matter literature and various international and national strategic documents. However, it is possible to determine and select the indicators that are common and repeatedly applied at a very single approach to the measurement of the progress of implementation of sustainable development paradigm. The paper, based on the available documents and research experiences, presents the sustainable transport indicators on the international, EU and Polish level with a special regard to regional dimension.

    In the article a strategic approach to the problem of maritime piracy and its implications in the context of maritime transport security is presented and evaluated. The article shows the problem of piracy in the most important regions of its presence, the intensity of the problem in the 90s of the 20th century and its contemporary aspect. Activities of the international community in the context of maritime piracy and help for fragile States for example, Somalia are presented and evaluated. The article ends with conclusions and probable development of the piracy in the following years, in which the author predicts that the deployed action, so far contributed to the reduction in the number of attacks, but to a small extent contributed to the improvement of the economic situation of the Somali population. The growing number of attacks in 2015 and 2016, suggests that the years to come may bring a further wave of piracy renaissance. If the aid is not increased and used with better precision, maritime piracy will remain a real threat to maritime transport.
    W artykule zaprezentowano i oceniono strategiczne podejście do problemu piractwa morskiego i jego implikacji w kontekście bezpieczeństwa transportu morskiego. Ukazano problem piractwa w najważniejszych regionach jego występowania, intensywność występowania tego problemu w latach 90. XX wieku oraz jego współczesny aspekt. Zaprezentowano i oceniono działania społeczności międzynarodowej w kontekście zwalczania piractwa morskiego oraz pomocy dla państw dysfunkcyjnych na przykładzie Somalii. Artykuł kończy się wnioskami i prawdopodobnym rozwojem omawianego procederu w kolejnych latach, w których Autorka prognozuje, że wdrożone, jak do tej pory działania przyczyniły się do ograniczenia liczby ataków, ale w niewielkim stopniu przyczyniły się do poprawy sytuacji ekonomicznej ludności somalijskiej. W związku z zanotowaniem rosnącej liczby ataków w latach 2015 i 2016, kolejne lata mogą przynieść dalszą falę renesansu piractwa. Jeżeli udzielana pomoc nie zostanie zintensyfikowana i precyzyjniej wykorzystana, to piractwo morskie pozostanie realnym zagrożeniem dla transportu morskiego.

    W artykule omówiony został problem strategicznej analizy pozycji przedsiębiorstwa w konkurencyjnym otoczeniu. Celem niniejszego opracowania było określenie ważności głównych czynników decydujących o poziomie konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw świadczących usługi transportowe odpadów, a także selektywny wybór odpowiedniej strategii w oparciu o metodę portfelową na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa przewozowego. Omówiono narzędzia stosowane do oceny strategicznej pozycji portfela produktów lub usług. Na przykładzie macierzy McKinseya dokonano pozycjonowania usług transportu odpadów na podstawie pięciu grup ładunków. W oparciu o dwie zmienne: atrakcyjność strategiczną branży i strategiczną siłę usług transportowych przypisano im sugerowane koncepcje działań. Kluczowe było wytypowanie tych usług przedsiębiorstwa przewozowego, dla których racjonalne będzie dla przedsiębiorstwa działanie zgodnie ze strategią koncentracji.
    The article discusses the problem of strategic analysis of the company's position in a competitive environment. The aim of this study was to determine the importance of the main factors determining the level of competitiveness of enterprises providing waste transport services, as well as the selective selection of an appropriate strategy based on the portfolio method based on the example of a transport company. The portfolio tools are discussed which are used to assess the strategic position of the product or service. On the example of McKinsey's matrix, the positioning of waste transport services on the basis of five groups of loads was made. Based on two variables: the strategic attractiveness of the industry and the strategic strength of transport services, the suggested concepts of activities were assigned to them. It was crucial to select those services of the transport company for which it would be rational for the company to operate in accordance with the focus strategy.

    Purpose: The aim of the study has been to identify factors being a barrier to the implementation of strategic management in small and medium-sized enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The basic sources of the information analysed are: the results of the survey questionnaire, in-depth interview and expert review. Findings: Based on the research performed in the northern part of Poland, it can be argued that in transport enterprises of the SME sector, there are only single elements of strategic management the entrepreneurs are often not aware of. Research limitations/implications: In the future, it is suggested to perform similar research on the presented topics. However, these tests should be done on the example of another industry. In 2020, it is planned to carry out research among enterprises in the printing industry. Practical implications: The SMEs owners should keep on searching for the sources of the emerging barriers to strategic management application and make attempts at applying such instruments which will facilitate eliminating or reducing those barriers considerably. Originality/value: A response to breaking the barriers not allowing for the implementation of strategic thinking in SMEs is also adapting the right IT tool, which is possible with a specific ERP class system function.

    Purpose. Recently, foreign economic activity in Ukraine has gradually shifted towards the European Union (EU). The EU’s special interest in the potential of Ukraine’s transit transport lies in the geographical position of the country, which is located on the main routes of international freight traffic. The article aims to study the status and development opportunities in the field of transit freight transport of the Ukrainian railway joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsya) within the framework of European integration. Methodology. The article presents the analysis of the activity of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsya in the field of transit freight transport for the period of 2005-2017 and outlines the strategic prospects for its development as a significant transit route considering the conditions of European integration. The methodology included theoretical and practical research using statistical methods; methods of comparative analysis; ABC analysis method; and taxonomic method. Results. The JSC Ukrzaliznytsya was analysed to determine the status of its activity in the field of transit freight transportation for 2005-2017. A structural-dynamic analysis was made to estimate cargo volumes transported by railway enterprises and related revenues. 18 types of cargo were identified using the ABC analysis method based on two indicators, namely, “volumes of transportation” and “revenues from cargo transit”. Also, taxonomic indicators of the level of system development were considered and revenues from cargo transit for the analysed period were estimated. Finally, recommendations were proposed regarding the development of a joint-stock company as a strategic cargo transporter under the conditions of European integration with Ukraine. Practical implications (if applicable). The results of the conducted research and performed calculations confirmed the need to refocus the management activity of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsya in the field of cargo transit towards strategically important cargoes, which have the largest share in the structure of financial results. This will enable the company to achieve its leading role as a strategic transit carrier of the European Union in the near future.

W drugiej części artykułu zaprezentowano inicjację oraz przebieg procesu dystrybucji, poczynając od nawiązania kontaktu z potencjalnym klientem, a na dostawie towaru kończąc.
    Distribution is a varied and complex process determined by the profile of activity of the final consignee as well as by the capacity of the distributor. Capacity refers to a company’s internal resources, implemented strategies, conducted processes, manpower and equipment, as well as windows of opportunity located in a company’s external surroundings. The first part of the paper contains an assessment of a company’s consignees and suppliers conducted by presenting relationships determined by their location, nature of their business activity, as well as their share of sales and supply. In the second part of the paper, there is a presentation of initiation and the process of distribution, from establishing contact with a prospective customer to delivery of goods.
