    Opis:
    The present research focuses on two-dimensional deformation in a functionally graded thermoelastic micro-elongated medium. It is supposed that the non-homogeneous properties (thermal and mechanical) of FGM are in the x-direction. The normal mode technique is used to acquire the analytic expression for displacement components, stress, micro-elongation and temperature. The cause and effect relationship of non-homogeneity and physical quantities is shown through graphical results.

    Opis:
    A problem of stationary heat conduction in laminates with transversally graded structure is analysed. These composites consist of two components, non-periodically distributed as laminas. Averaged (macroscopic) properties of these laminates are slowly and continuously varied along the axis normal to laminas. In this contribution the stationary heat conduction problem is analysed in the framework of the tolerance model, proposed by Jędrysiak and Radzikowska [2,6,3].

    In this contribution a problem of heat conuction in a laminate with functionally graded macrostructure is considered. This composite is made of two components, which re non-periodically distributed in laminae with constant thickess. Macroscopic (effective) properties of this composite are continuously varied along an axis perpendicular to laminae. In this note an averaged model of heat conduction is applied. This model is based on concepts of the tolerance averaging technique, cf. Woźniak and Wierzbicki |9|.

    Opis:
    In this paper a problem of heat conduction in the laminate is investigated. The laminate is made of two conductors, non-periodically distributed as micro laminas along one direction. A macrostructure of such laminate is assumed to be functionally graded along this direction. In order to analyse the heat conduction, two modelling methods are applied: the tolerance averaging technique and the finite element method. The first approach is based on the book edited by Cz. Woźniak, Michalak and Jędrysiak [6], the second one is used in the numerical system ABAQUS. The results of applying both methods are compared for two different cases of the distribution of the conductors.

    Opis:
    This article presents a proposal to take into account the grammatical notion of comparison as a criterion that is instrumental in distinguishing linguistic functions of Latin lexemes derived from quality adjectives, traditionally named adverbs. The formal description of the morphological and syntactic features of the lexemes bene, male, plane, sane, longe and prope makes the author conclude that their linguistic use is not limited to that of gradable adverbs, employed as verbal modifiers. When these words are in their positive form in the sentence, they are capable of performing other functions. First of all, they can be used as exponents of gradability, marking the non-relative degrees of feature intensity. Additionally, the lexeme sane functions as an epistemic particle, deontic particle and as a so called contextual asyntagmatic lexeme.

    Artykuł jest próbą podziału łacińskich leksemów służących do wskazywania bezwzględnego stopnia cechy lub stanu, określanego przez predykaty gradualne, tradycyjnie nazywanych przysłówkami stopnia. Proponuje się rozróżnianie czterech grup wykładników stopnia, charakteryzujących cechę lub stan ze względu na kategorie intensywności, kompletności, dostateczności i nadmiaru: (1) wykładniki intensywności: a. intensyfikatory, wskazujące na wysoki stopień cechu lub stanu (valde, multum, magnopere/magno opere, admodum, bene, male, sane, plane, non mediocriter, abunde, impense, vehementer, graviter, egregie, eximie, mire, mirifice, mirabiliter), b. dezintensyfikatory, wskazujące na niski stopień cechy lub stanu (non valde, non magnopere, non admodum, male, mediocriter); (2) wykładniki kompletności: a. wskazujące na pełny stopień cechy lub stanu (bene, male, plane, admodum, longe, omnino), b. wskazujące na niepełny stopień cechy lub stanu (prope, paene, non plane); (3) wykładniki dostateczności: a. wskazujące na dostateczny stopień cechy lub stanu (satis/sat), b. wskazujące na niedostateczny stopień cechy lub stanu (non satis/sat, parum) i (4) wykładniki nadmiaru: a. wskazujące na nadmiar cechy lub stanu (nimis/nimium, oppido), b. wskazujące na brak nadmiaru cechy lub stanu (non nimis).
    The paper is an attempt of dividing Latin lexemes of the nonrelative degree of a property or state, which is expressed by gradable predicates, traditionally called adverbs of degree. The disitnction of four groups of degree indices is proposed, which characterize a property or state according to categories of intensity, completeness, sufficiency and excess, i.e. (1) Indices of intensity: a. intensifiers describing the high degree of a property or state (valde, multum, magnopere/magno opere, admodum, bene, male, sane, plane, non mediocriter, abunde, impense, vehementer, graviter, egregie, eximie, mire, mirifice, mirabiliter), b. disintensifiers describing the low degree of a property or state (non valde, non magnopere, non admodum, male, mediocriter); (2) Indices of completeness: a. describing the complete degree of a property or state (bene, male, plane, admodum, longe, omnino), b. describing the incomplete degree of a property or state (prope, paene, non plane); (3) Indices of sufficiency: a. describing the sufficient degree of a property or state (satis/sat), b. describing the insufficient degree of a property or state (non satis/sat, parum) and (4) Indices of excess: a. describing the excess of a property or state (nimis/nimium, oppido), b. describing the lack of excess of a property or state (non nimis).

    Wyrażenia gradacyjne stopnia absolutnego w Dzienniczku siostry Faustyny oraz ich tłumaczenia na język francuski Aby opisać wyrażenia gradacyjne w dyskursie mistycznym, Autorki podają wpierw definicję gradacji, która zawiera porównanie implicytne i intensywność. Intensywność, nierozerwalnie złączona z doświadczeniem mistycznym, jest obecna w dyskursie mistycznym i stanowi odniesienie znaku językowego. Specyfika tego znaku w dyskursie mistyków katolickich badana jest od początku XX wieku. W tym kontekście zostaną poddane analizie wyrażenia gradacyjne stopnia absolutnego za pomocą stopnia najwyższego przymiotników oraz przymiotników z prefiksami o znaczeniu „poza” granice danej skali wartości. Analiza dotyczy przykładów z tekstu oryginalnego (język polski) i tekstu tłumaczonego (język francuski), aby pokazać trudności mistyka w wyrażeniu swego doświadczenia mistycznego oraz trudności tłumacza, który stara się oddać w tłumaczonym tekście wzruszenia i piękno języka mistyka. Les expressions de la gradation absolue dans Dzienniczek (Petit Journal) de la sœur Faustine et leurs traductions en français Quelles sont les expressions de la gradation absolue dans un discours mystique et comment les traduire? Pour répondre à cette question, nous allons d’abord donner la définition de la gradation qui englobe la comparaison implicite et l’intensité. L’intensité s’avère être inséparable de l’expérience mystique, par conséquent le discours des mystiques est marqué par les expressions de l’intensité. Pour saisir la spécificité du signe linguistique dans un discours mystique catholique, étudié dès le début du XXe siècle, nous présenterons l’expérience mystique qui constitue une référence spécifique du signe linguistique. C’est dans ce cadre que nous analyserons les expressions de la gradation absolue par le superlatif des adjectifs et par les adjectifs avec des préfixes marquant un « au-delà » des bornes d’une échelle des valeurs. L’analyse sera menée sur les exemples du texte original et du texte traduit afin de montrer les difficultés du mystique pour exprimer son expérience mystique et les difficultés du traducteur qui s’efforce de rendre dans le texte traduit l’émotion et la beauté du langage du mystique.
    What are expressions of absolute gradation in the mystical speech and how should they be translated? To answer this question, we will first give the definition of gradation that includes implicit comparison and intensity. As intensity is inseparable from mystical experience, it also marks the mystical speech. To grasp the specificity of the linguistic sign in a mystical catholic speech we will present the mystical experience which is a precise reference to the linguistic sign. It is in this context that we will analyze the expressions of absolute gradation, namely the superlative forms of adjectives and adjectives with prefixes marking a “beyond” of the boundaries of a scale of values. The analysis will be conducted on the examples of the original text and of the translated text in order to show difficulties of a mystic in expressing his/her mystical experience and the difficulties of the translator trying to render the emotion and the beauty of the mystical language.
