Introduction and aim. Neck pain is becoming increasingly common throughout the world with a considerable impact on individuals. This study compared the effects of muscle energy techniques (MET) and static stretching (SS) on pain intensity and functional disability of patient with mechanical neck pain. Material and methods. Fifty subjects with mechanical neck pain recruited were randomly allocated into MET and SS groups equally. Subjects in MET received MET protocol, and SS groups were treated with SS; both groups had treatment twice a week for six weeks. Pain intensity and functional disability at baseline, 3rd and 6th week of treatment were measured. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Alpha level was set at <0.05. Results. There were 12 males and 13 females for MET with age ranged between 31–53 years mean was 42.41± 7.35 years and 11 males and 14 females in SS group with age range 22–60 years and mean age of 42.91±10.44 years. There was a significant reduction in pain intensity and disability in MET’s and SS group (p<0.05) when pre-treatment, 3rd week and 6th week treatment were compared. Pain intensity was lower at SS than MET while functional disability was lower in MET than SS p<0.05 at 6th week. Conclusion. MET reduces ND more than SS and SS reduces pain intensity better MET.

Opis:
In this article the problem of plastic recycling, and in particular waste polyester-glass, has been described. In brief, the technology for the production of new composite materials by hand, made by the contact method, using the matrix filling in the form of polyester-glass waste coming from worn-out laminates used in the construction of ship hulls. The waste used was a powdered mixture of resin particles, glass fibers, and composite particle agglomerates. A method for producing composite panels with a recyclate content of between 10% and 30% was carried out. The samples were then manufactured according to the requirements of the standard, i.e. PN-EN ISO 527-4_2000P. Samples obtained from the test plates were subjected to a static stretch test, to verify the impact of the integrated wastes on the mechanical properties of the composite. Photographs of the structure of the obtained material have also been presented. These photos showed significant differences in the composition of the resulting composites determined by the amount of waste material used. Analysis of the results indicated that increasing the amount of recyclate reduces the value of the material’s strength limit and also reduces the plasticity of the material. This article has provided an introduction to more comprehensive research on the recycling of plastics.

Since many of people in their functional activities mostly place their knee joint in flexed position, the hamstring muscles tend to be shortened. On the other hand, shortness of these muscles affect the knee joint directly and the Hip Joint Flexibility indirectly. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of static and PNF stretching on hip joint flexibility of un-training female students. Twenty-four 18–30 years old un-training female students without any history of pathology in hip, knee or back were selected. They were divided into three groups with 8 women in each group (static stretch, PNF stretch and control). The two stretch groups received stretching program three days every week for six weeks, while the control group did not. The result shows that range of hip joint flexibility of both groups of static and PNF stretching increased (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between these two groups (P > 0.05). The while it remained unchanged in control subjects (P > 0.05). Employing both methods (static and PNF stretching) increase the hip joint flexibility. The findings of this study suggest that optimal flexibility is achieved with a combination of these two methods. Thus, we recommend the combined training method to athletes who require very high flexibility.
