Opis:
This article describes the measurement system designed in order to determine the metrological properties of air gauges. The said scientific study makes it possible to determine the static pk = f(s) and flow qv = f(s) characteristics. It consists of three modules: a mechanical module, a control and register data module and a special software module. Apart from the possibility of determining the static and flow characteristics, the presented study makes it possible to measure the temperature in the duct that supplies the compressed air to the transducer as well as in the measuring chamber. The above-mentioned measurement system makes it possible to determine the pressure applied on the surface measured by an air stream coming from the nozzle. Apart from a detailed description of a test station and the software, the article also contains sample results of tests performed on air gauges.

Opis:
The isothermal and non-isothermal characteristics of silicon carbide Schottky diodes in the wide range of currents and ambient temperatures are investigated in this paper. The measurements of the diodes characteristics have been performed with the use of a pulse method, with fast registration of measurement points after the diode current turning on, or with the use of a fully static method, in which the self-heating phenomenon is taken into account. Apart from the measurements, the series of numerical experiments, giving the isothermal and non-isothermal characteristics as a result, were executed. The complex, accurate numerical procedures as well as simplified analytical calculations were implemented. A good conformity of all calculation and measurement results have been obtained. In the presented investigations, for relatively high currents and ambient temperatures, the influence of self-heating on the SiC Schottky diodes static characteristics is significant. The large (even 4 V for the ambient temperature 300.C ) values of voltages corresponding to the nominal diode currents have been observed.

Opis:
In the article, analysis of the work conditions and the metrological characteristics of the air gauges dedicated for the roundness assessment is described. To reach the required accuracy of the acquired data, the phenomena of gas dynamics had to be analyzed in the whole flow through elements of the air gauge. A model based on the second critical parameters was used, because it reflects the true processes of the air flow. As a result, fast and accurate simulations provided series of the characteristics to be considered. Nevertheless, the chosen air gauge configuration underwent the experimental verification of its metrological characteristics. Finally, the entire measurement system Geoform with the gauge head based on the chosen air gauges underwent the accuracy test in order to make sure of its overall measurement quality.

Opis:
The paper presents definitions and relative measures of the system sensitivity and sensitivity of its errors. The model of a real system and model of an ideal measuring system were introduced. It allows to determine the errors of the system. The paper presents also how to use the error sensitivity analysis carried out on the models of the measuring system to the correction of the nonlinearity error of its static characteristic. The corrective function is determined as a relation between the input variable of the tested system and its chosen parameter. The use of the proposed method has been presented on the example of a phase angle modulator. The obtained results have been compared with the results of analytic calculations. The idea of a phase angle modulator is also presented.

Opis:
The application of thrust bearings in different engineering designs generates problems of thermal state, which generates the wear of the fixed or tilting pads of bearings. These problems can be avoided by means of proper methods and numerical algorithms of calculations of the bearing static characteristics, including the maximum oil film temperature. The knowledge of thermal state of bearings should assure safe, reliable, and durable bearing operation and is important for the designers of thrust bearings. This paper presents the results of calculations of some static characteristics of a tilting-pad thrust bearing, including its maximum oil film temperature. Numerical solution by means of finite differences was applied for the solution of geometry, Reynolds, energy, and viscosity equations. Adiabatic oil film laminar flow in the bearing gap was considered. The developed code of the computation of bearing performances creates a tool that leads to the solution of thermal problems. Different values of operating speeds were assumed.
Stosowanie ślizgowych łożysk wzdłużnych wiąże się z problemami stanu cieplnego i zużycia stałych lub wahliwych segmentów łożyska. Zastosowanie odpowiednich metod obliczeniowych i algorytmów numerycznych charakterystyk statycznych łożyska włącznie z maksymalną temperaturą filmu smarowego pozwala na uniknięcie problemów eksploatacyjnych. Znajomość stanu cieplnego łożyska powinna zapewnić bezpieczną, niezawodną, trwałą jego eksploatację oraz jest ważna dla konstruktorów łożysk wzdłużnych. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń niektórych charakterystyk statycznych łożyska wzdłużnego z segmentami wahliwymi. Podstawowe równania teorii smarowania hydrodynamicznego Reynoldsa, energii i lepkości oraz geometrii rozwiązano metodą iteracyjną. Opracowany algorytm obliczeń numerycznych łożyska z nieizotermicznym filmem smarowym stwarza narzędzie pozwalające na rozwiązywanie problemów cieplnych łożysk wzdłużnych. Założono różne wartości prędkości obrotowych. Przyjęto adiabatyczny, laminarny model filmu smarowego.

Przedstawiono stanowisko pomiarowe, wspomagane komputerowo, do wyznaczania właściwości statycznych czujników przemieszczeń liniowych i kątowych. pomiary wielkości wyjściowych i zasilających badanych czujników realizuje się przy pomocy przyrządów wirtualnych zbudowanych z karty komputerowej z magistralą szeregową USB 2.0 i komputer PC. Zadawane przemieszczenia liniowe mierzono czujnikami impulsowymi z magistralą OptoRS-232. Oprogramowanie stanowiska wykonano w środowisku programowym LabWindows/CVI.
A computer-aided measuring stand for determination of displacement sensors' static characteristics is presented. The output and supply quantities of the sensors are measured by means of virtual instruments, that are based on a data acquisition card and a personal computer. Preset displacements are measured by means of impulsive sensors with and an OptoRS-232 interface. The integrated programming package LabWindows/CVI was used to design the stand.

Opis:
Two types of hydrodynamically lubricated plain journal bearings were subject to examination differing in the method used to feed them with oil. The first type was fed from a lubrication pocket and the second from the bearing face side. Mathematical models were developed with two-way oil flow allowing to determine the oil film bearing capacity, the maximum pressure, the maximum temperature, and the film oil minimum height for given position of journal relative to solid bush. Static characteristics were developed used in the further course of the study to compare operating parameters of the considered types of bearings. Another issue considered in the paper is the effect of oil VG grade on bearing performance with conditions of oil feeding taken into account and results of the research presented.

Opis:
Asymmetry of magnetic circuit of stator or motor leads to changes in static characteristics shape of switched reluctance motor. Analysis of influence of a stator magnetic circuit asymmetry on static characteristics of designed motor was achieved. The asymmetry of magnetic circuit was forced by overall dimensions of designed motor. Static characteristics were determined based on simulation model. Due to asymmetry of a stator magnetic circuit, characteristics were determined for two various phases of motor. Measurement verification was achieved in laboratory conditions . Conclusions concerning the influence of stator magnetic circuit on static characteristics of motor were placed.
Niesymetria obwodu magnetycznego stojana czy też wirnika prowadzi do zmiany kształtu charakterystyk statycznych silnika reluktancyjnego przełączalnego. W danym przypadku dokonano analizy wpływu niesymetrii obwodu magnetycznego stojana na charakterystyki statyczne projektowanego silnika. Niesymetria obwodu magnetycznego została wymuszona ograniczeniami gabarytowymi projektowanego napędu. Na bazie modelu symulacyjnego zostały wyznaczone charakterystyki statyczne silnika. Z uwagi na niesymetrię obwodu magnetycznego stojana wyznaczono charakterystyki dla dwóch różnych pasm silnika. W warunkach laboratoryjnych dokonano weryfikacji pomiarowej. Zamieszczono wnioski dotyczące wpływu niesymetrii obwodu magnetycznego stojana na charakterystyki statyczne silnika.

Opis:
The 8-lobe journal bearings have found application in the bearing systems of spindles of grinding machines. The design of bearings and the large number of lobes and oil grooves assures good cooling conditions of bearing. These bearings can be manufactured as the bearings with cylindrical, non-continuous operating surfaces separated by six lubricating grooves, bearings with the pericycloidal shape of the bearing bore, and as offset journal bearing. This paper presents the results of the computation of static characteristics of an offset 8-lobe journal bearing operating under the conditions of an aligned axis of journal and bush, adiabatic oil film, and at the static equilibrium position of journal. Different values of bearing length to diameter ratio, relative clearance, and lobe relative clearance were assumed. Reynolds' energy and viscosity equations were solved by means of an iterative procedure. Adiabatic oil film, laminar flow in the bearing gap, and aligned orientation of journal in the bearing were considered.
Łożyska ślizgowe 8-powierzchniowe stosowane są w układach łożyskowania wrzecion szlifierek. Konstrukcja tych łożysk i znaczna liczba powierzchni ślizgowych oraz rowków smarowych zapewniają dobre warunki chłodzenia. Łożyska te mogą być wykonywane z segmentami o powierzchni kołowej, zarysie nieciągłym lub ciągłym; z przesuniętymi segmentami, a powierzchnie ślizgowe są oddzielone rowkami smarowymi. Artykuł przedstawia obliczenia charakterystyk statycznych łożysk 8-powierzchniowych z przesuniętymi segmentami pracujących w warunkach równoległych osi czopa i panewki i statycznego położenia równowagi czopa. Założono różne wartości względnej długości łożyska, luzu łożyskowego i względnego luzu segmentu. Równanie Reynoldsa, energii i lepkości rozwiązano metodą różnic skończonych autorskim kodem numerycznym. Przyjęto adiabatyczny i laminarny model przepływu środka smarowego w szczelinie smarowej.

Opis:
Modern internal combustion powertrains are the main source of propulsion for on-road and non-road vehicles. However, they are increasingly being replaced by electric or fuel cell-equipped alternative propulsion systems. The article presents a study of fuel cell characteristics operating under both static and dynamic conditions, with a 1.2 kW fuel cell set with a voltage converter and lead-acid batteries. In the conducted tests, the fuel cell stack's maximum efficiency reached 65%. Load tests (static and dynamic) have indicated higher fuel cell efficiencies when using hybrid operation with a DC/DC converter and battery.
