Opis:
The stability of positive linear continuous-time and discrete-time systems is analyzed by the use of the decomposition of the state matrices into symmetrical and antisymmetrical parts. It is shown that: 1) The state Metzler matrix of positive continuous-time linear system is Hurwitz if and only if its symmetrical part is Hurwitz; 2) The state matrix of positive linear discrete-time system is Schur if and only if its symmetrical part is Hurwitz. These results are extended to inverse matrices of the state matrices of the positive linear systems.

The LMI based method for the control with the state estimate, subject to the input variable constraints in the state feedback control of the linear MIMO systems, is presented in the paper. For this problem are obtained the state feedback as well as the estimator gain matrices that capture the required stability by solving the linear matrix inequalities formulated in the sense of the unified algebraic approach. The method is particularly effective when the input variable constraints and the system output are of interest.

Poles and zeros assignment problem by state feedbacks in positive continuous-time and discrete-time systems is analyzed. It is shown that in multi-input multi-output positive linear systems by state feedbacks the poles and zeros of the transfer matrices can be assigned in the desired positions. In the positive continuous-time linear systems the feedback gain matrix can be chosen as a monomial matrix so that the poles and zeros of the transfer matrices have the desired values if the input matrix B is monomial. In the positive discrete-time linear systems to solve the problem the matrix B can be chosen monomial if and only if in every row and every column of the n × n system matrix A the sum of n−1 its entries is less than one.

In this paper, the problem of exponential stability for the standard form of the state control, realized in a networked control system structure, is studied. To deal with the problem of stability analysis of the event-time-driven modes in the networked control systems the delayed-dependent exponential stability conditions are reformulated and proven. Based on the delay-time dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, exponential stability criteria are derived. These criteria are expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities and their structure can be modified to use the bilinear inequality techniques.

Opis:
Well-being is a quality, and each quality has three natural states: a little, moderately, a lot. Well-being resembles happiness and health. When we have well-being, we usually are not aware of it. Certainly, we all want to live a life of well-being. While we do not specify the notion of happiness so as to avoid bad luck and not to show off with it, we do not define well-being either. It is a blessed state of existing together with nature and with people. Permanent well-being is equated with stable well-being. It is achievable only in a traditional society, where everyone knows what to do and gets it done as expected. Well-being also is associated with social Darwinism; population has well-being when it grows exponentially. Malthusian equation y py ′ = can be seen as a precise definition of well-being. Well-being is a holistic term that applies to a whole community as the quality of life, often equivalent to standard of living. There is no well-being on a desert island. Well-being implies work productiveness and indicates that economy is more efficient than social needs. Well-being may also be expressed by utility functions. Population’s average utility defines social well-being. Each utility function is linked to preference. If a population’s profile satisfies the ⅔ rule, then a maximal relation is preference; in fact, the very preference is social well-being. Stability of wellbeing in Markov matrix 2 1 3 3 1 1 1 3 3 3 1 2 3 3 0 0 M = i s represented by transitions from the states: low being, being and good being, respectively, to these states. If the probabilities of transitions are as those in the matrix M, then the population is divided into three equal parts at a limit state. There are always poor people, normal or happy people and rich people. Well-being may also stand for a state of the economy – a basket of goods at which the utility function takes the maximum. Well-being is definitely related to work organization and economic situation. The world today enjoys well-being, because the net global wealth has doubled since 2000, reaching $263 trillion in 2013. The assets therefore increased exponentially. Yet, one should consider the lilies of the field, and how they grow, look at the birds of the air and think about who feeds them. The idea of wellbeing is more spiritual than material. It is in vain that you go late to rest and get up early – your effort will not gain much. Because God gives sleep to those he loves. Life is the only value affirmed by Nietzsche. Being represents a complete good, whereas not being is evil. If you exist, you have well-being. There is no well-being without equilibrium and full employment. Well-being can be measured by an index W n k n = + where n denotes the number of new firms established in a given year, and k – the number of closed firms. The nearer to one is this index, the better. Well-being is by no means total power, fortune and pleasure. Well-being is a state of soul, not a state of body. It is a function of organization and self-organization, a variety of stoicism.

Opis:
Studies were conducted to improve the mechanical properties of composites based on 7475 aluminium alloy reinforced with Al3Ti particles fabricated by the “in situ” process. The first step involved “dissolving” of titanium in the liquid aluminium alloy and fabricating in this way composite materials with different content of the reinforcing phase (15-45wt%). A relationship between the composite hardness and content of the reinforcing phase was confirmed. The second step involved the improvement of cohesion between the reinforcing particles and composite matrix. By extrusion of samples in semi-solid state, an average increase in hardness by 15-20% relative to the unextruded composite was obtained. In the third step, the fabricated composite was subjected to a heat treatment corresponding to the state T6 in 7475 alloy, which raised the hardness by about 30%. Structure examinations carried out by means of optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopies as well as the results of hardness measurements were described. They enabled estimating the effect of the content of produced Al3Ti particles, and of the extrusion process in semi-solid state and heat treatment parameters on the composite properties. In compression test, the yield strength and compressive strength of the heat-treated composites were determined.

Opis:
The analysis of the influence of transfer function zeros on the parameters of state feedback controllers has been conducted. If a transfer function of a control object has zeros which are located closely to poles, the control object tends to singularity, and the influence of the input control signal to the states of the control object becomes weaker. The problem of the state feedback controller synthesis becomes ill-conditioned, which leads to the appearance of extremely large state feedback coefficients. In this case, the state feedback coefficients are sensitive to the parameters of the control object. As a result, the parametric robustness of the control system is reduced. Known methods of structural analysis of control object models are included amongst different methods of the numerical evaluation of the controllability and the observability, as well as methods of the model order reduction. These methods have some disadvantages, such as dependence on the state space representation form of the control object, ignoring a part of the control object model. In this paper, some ways of the preliminary structural analysis of the state space models of control objects have been proposed. The singular (Hankel) matrix is proposed for analyzing the properties of control object models. The singular matrix is the invariant characteristic of the control object in various state space forms and it characterizes the property of the control object completeness. As a result of the research, it was found that the coefficients of the state feedback controller are inversely proportional to the determinant of the singular matrix, and the determinant of the singular matrix is equal to the resultant of the transfer function polynomials. Thus the value of the determinant of the singular matrix depends on the location of the zeros of the transfer function. The method of the structural transformation (decomposition) of the control object for the defining the need of the reducing the order of the control object model is proposed.

Welfare states are today being made responsible for the poor prosperity of Western economies. High taxes, negative incentives for entrepreneurship or rigidity of labor market regulations create meager conditions for innovations and competitiveness and thus imply low growth rates. The rolling back of welfare state programs is therefore supposed to bring back good performance of the economies in mind. In reality evidence for such scenario is insufficient and welfare states are too embedded into modern econ¬omies to be removed with no consequences - both social and economic ones.
