    The paper presents an analysis of the impact of the physical phenomena occurring during the movement of a vessel in shallow water on the number of accidents on inland waterways. On the basis of data on the accidents on German waterways it has been established that the phenomenon of ship squatting significantly contributes to accidents connected with the suction of the vessel to the bottom of the waterway. Such failures are the cause of over 35% of all the accidents on inland waterways. Another factor increasing the probability of a failure is the negative impact of the waves produced by the movement of the vessel and of the screw race. The size of squatting and the intensity of the negative impact of the waves and the screw race depend on the sailing speed and the waterway restrictions.

    Introduction. Muscle fatigue has been studied for a long time with the use of a wide variety of exercise models, protocols and assessment methods, among which surface electromyography (sEMG) is most commonly used. The main sEMG parameters (amplitude and frequency) are prevalently used to evaluate the level of muscle fatigue in static and dynamic contractions. Objective. The purpose of this study is to determine and compare 2 separate indices: IF1 basis of the sEMG signal amplitude analysis and IF2 basis of the sEMG median frequency analysis, related to muscles fatigue during an isometric contraction. Materials and method. The study was performed on 60 professional runners divided into 2 equal groups. The first group comprised sprinters, competing in short distance track and field events (100 and 200 meters). The second group consisted of middle-distance runners, competing in middle-distance track and field events (800 and 1,500 meters). The electrical activity of the VMO muscles of the right and left lower limbs was recorded simultaneously during isometric activity in a squatting position. The sEMG data was used to determine and compare IF1 and IF2 indices. Results. During isometric measurement, sprinters presented a much more significant increase in the mean amplitude of sEMG signal in comparison to middle-distance runners (mean IF1 difference: 0.228; p=0.007). Analysis of the median frequency did not show significant differences between the 2 groups (mean IF2 difference: 0.037; p=0.12). Conclusions. Change in sEMG amplitude during isometric exercise may be related to muscles fatigue. The use of fatigue indices, based on sEMG amplitude, as an objective indicator of the efficacy of an endurance training programme for sportsmen requires further research.

    Streszczenie Niezależne Centra Kultury (NCK) to forma działalności podejmowanej w większości przez młode osoby (w wieku 19-46 lat) tworzące stowarzyszenia. Osobowość prawna umożliwia tym grupom otrzymanie bazy lokalowej, w ramach której realizowane są poszczególne założenia zawarte w statutach stowarzyszeń. Zarówno charakter (specyfika), jak i działalność opisanych w poniższej pracy NCK są do siebie zbliżone. W ramach stowarzyszeń podejmowane są inicjatywy o charakterze kulturalno-społecznym, związane z aspektami artystycznymi, a także rekreacyjno-sportowymi. Poniższa praca powstała w oparciu o cztery aktywnie działające na terenie Polski NCK zlokalizowane w Gliwicach, Lublinie, Warszawie i Wrocławiu. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie genezy NCK, nawiązującej do ruchu skłoterskiego oraz przemian będących konsekwencją ewolucji wspomnianego zjawiska.

    Opis:
    Bad faith trademark registrations in the People’s Republic of China are a longstanding issue. The PRC’s Trademark Law amendment of 2019 changed some articles relating to the bad faith trademark registration. The goal of this Article is to analyse the sources of this issue and examine the provisions of Chinese Trademark Law to understand how well foreign entities are protected against trademark squatters after the 2019 amendment. The causes of this issue were found in China’s unique economic position, the Chinese language, Chinese society, and Chinese culture. The analysis of the amended version of PRC’s Trademark Law found that, in fact, the Chinese legislator made some enhancements, but unfortunately it seems it is not going to be sufficient to protect the rightful foreign owners of trademarks in an effective way.
