Opis:
The purpose of training in ju-jitsu is developing characteristic adaptation to physical activity and optimizing body functions so as to obtain maximal achievements. A means to an end is mastering the fighting technique and develop the essential level of special physical fitness. The aim of this paper was to determine the influence of a modified circuit training conducted according to an original program on level of special physical fitness of ju-jitsu trainees. Ju-jitsu trainees having similar somatic parameters and training experience (3-5 years) were included in the research. 30 participants between the age of 21 and 28 have been selected by means of a purposeful selection. On the basis of different variants of a circuit training and governed by the guidelines of a functional training for trainees, we have developed a training programme which aims to develop special strength, stamina and speed skills. STATISTICA PL software was used to compile the results. In order to determine statistical significance of differences between pre- and posttest measurements in the evaluated group of Ju-Jitsu contestants, a t-test for related groups was used. In conclusion, the proposed training programme proceeds at a high level of intensity, which resembles start activity (which is indicated by the heart rate frequency measurement and lactic acid blood concentration) and may be used in ju-jistu training. The experimental training programme has exerted positive influence on the participants’ with respect to the number of movements made, which can affect their effectiveness in fight.

Opis:
The research aimed to determine the relationship between the universal and special physical fitness of judoists. The study involved players from the youngster (U16) and junior (U21) age group from provincial teams. The International Physical Fitness Test was used to measure comprehensive fitness, and the Special Judo Fitness Test was applied to assess special fitness. The research has shown that juniors exhibit a higher level of all-round (excluding flexibility) and special fitness than youngsters. More relationships between comprehensive physical fitness and special fitness were demonstrated in the youngster group. Leg muscle strength, endurance, agility, and abdominal strength were found to have the most significant impact on the overall level of all-round fitness in the youngster age group, while in the age group under 21, endurance, hand strength, and arm strength had the most significant impact. It has been shown that the combination of individual components of versatile fitness in a given training cycle may bring positive effects in shaping those features in both age groups. Besides, it has been shown that when taking account of the athlete’s ontogenetic development and his/her sensitive period, the relationships between the components of comprehensive fitness and comprehensive and special fitness can significantly affect the effectiveness of the training process in both age groups.
Celem badań było określenie związków między sprawnością fizyczną wszechstronną i specjalną zawodników trenujących judo. Badaniom poddano zawodników z grupy wiekowej młodzik (U16) i junior (U21), którzy są zawodnikami kadry wojewódzkiej. Do pomiaru sprawności wszechstronnej wykorzystano Międzynarodowy Test Sprawności Fizycznej, a do oceny sprawności specjalnej Test Specjalnej Sprawności Ruchowej w judo.

Opis:
Background. Wheelchair rugby is one of most spectacular team games meant for people with cervical spinal cord injury. Lately this sport has been gaining popularity. In order to estimate progress of players and analyze effects of training, coaches use various series of tests of special physical fitness. The aim of this study was to evaluate skills of wheelchair rugby players depending on their functional classification expressed in points and the years they play this sport. Material and methods. A group of 35 wheelchair rugby players were recruited for the study. The players participate in the Polish Wheelchair Rugby League (PLRnW) competitions in teams: Flying Wings Rzeszów. Brave Snails Lublin and Garbate Anioły Radom. The subjects were divided into four groups according to their functional classification in wheelchair rugby: 1st group – 0.5 and 1.0 point players (n = 9 ), 2nd group – 1.5 point (n = 8), 3rd group – 2.0 and 2.5 point (n = 11 ), and 4th group – 3.0 and 3.5 point (n = 7). The wheelchair rugby players participated in 4 special physical fitness tests: six-minute Cooper test, 20 m sprint, slalom with the ball, medicine ball throw. Results and conclusions. Results of the performed tests showed a strict correlation between the results achieved in tests of special physical fitness and the players’ functional classification. No strict correlation between the results achieved in tests of special physical fitness and the years of playing sport was found.

Opis:
ObjectivesThe aim of the study was to examine the impact of the training program on directed physical fitness.Material and MethodsThe research involved 35 male cadets of the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin. The examined persons were on average 19 years old. All the examined persons were divided into 2 groups. Group I (N = 25, the test group) carried out a program on Special Aviation Gymnastic Instruments. Group II (N = 10, the control group) conducted the standard physical military education program. In both groups, the test was performed twice, before (examination I) and after (examination II) the preparatory process, using the following tests: pull-ups, a 16.5-meter race, a 10×10-meter shuttle race, forward bends, and the Aviation Synthetic Efficiency Test (ASET). The findings obtained in these tests were converted into points for the overall evaluation of physical fitness. The training lasted 70 days.ResultsIn group I, in examination II, there was a statistically significant increase in the results of pull-ups (p < 0.01), the 16.5-meter race (p < 0.01), the 10×10-meter shuttle race (p < 0.05), forward bends for 2 min (p < 0.05) and the overall physical fitness (p < 0.05), compared to examination I. In group II, in examination II, the authors proved an insignificant increase in the findings when contrasted with examination I. The test results between groups I and II did not show any significant differences in the examined efficiency tests. In group I, in examination I, significant correlations were found between the overall physical fitness and pull-ups, the 10×10-meter shuttle race, the 16.5-meter race, forward bends and ASET. Examination II demonstrated significantly stronger correlations between the overall physical fitness and forward bends as well as ASET. In group II, in examination II, a significant correlation was shown between the overall physical fitness and the 16.5-meter race.ConclusionsA significant correlation between the overall physical fitness and ASET in examination II indicates an impact of the training program on the targeted efficiency of the cadet pilots.
