Opis:: Among the popular music festivals operating in Poland in the last forty years, two of them played a special role, especially for their young recipients of amplified music. The first of them was the Rock Festival in Jarocin (it had different names) functioning in the years 1980–1994, so still in the period of communist authorities. Reactivated in 2005, it recently operates under the name Jarocin Festival and uses the legend of the event from the 1980s. In the new socio-political conditions, the second important event, the Pol’and’Rock Festival (called Woodstock Station in 1995–2017), began to function in 1995, which in the late 1990s exceeded 100,000 participants and became the largest popular music event in Poland. The aim of the study is to characterise the impact of these two important popular music festivals in Poland at the turn of the second and third decade of the 21st century in the spatial and socio-cultural dimensions on the community of its participants. Referring to the traditional chorological paradigm of human geography, an analysis of the differentiation of the territorial impact of festivals was made, and using patterns immersed in social geography-oriented music research, factors motivating to participate in festivals were determined.

Opis:: The contribution deals with the analysis of the present acquisition methods of spatial information about the objects with spatial composition. Although the field of acquisition of spatial information is quite extensive, attention is focused on the present most commonly used methods as spatial polar method, close-range photogrammetry and terrestrial laser scanning. Each of these methods has its specific characteristics resulting to advantages and disadvantages. The core of analysis is to test the accuracy of the achieved results obtained by measurement on the experimental point field. The contribution aim is to bring to reader the answers to the questions, which of these methods is suitable or unsuitable for the particular case of the spatial information acquisition in terms of statistical testing its accuracy.
Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy analizy obecnych metod pozyskiwania informacji przestrzennej o obiektach o kompozycji przestrzennej. Chociaż obszar pozyskiwania informacji przestrzennej jest dość obszerny, uwaga skupiona jest na aktualnie najczęściej używanych metodach takich jak przestrzenna metoda polarna, fotogrametria bliskiego zasięgu oraz naziemny skaning laserowy. Każda z tych metod ma swoje specyficzne cechy wynikające z wad i zalet. Rdzeniem analizy jest zbadanie dokładności wyników otrzymanych przez pomiar na obszarze eksperymentalnym. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie czytelnikowi odpowiedzi na pytania, która z tych metod jest odpowiednia bądź nieodpowiednia do konkretnego przypadku pozyskiwania informacji przestrzennej w kategoriach testów statystycznych jej dokładności.

Opis:: W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono zarys uwarunkowań dotyczących oddziaływania miast na otoczenie, związanych z tym problemów delimitacyjnych oraz przykładów zastosowań badawczych dla miast Polski w ostatnich pięćdziesięciu latach. W drugiej części zaprezentowano wyniki delimitacji miejskich obszarów funkcjonalnych 18 stolic województw, wykonanej przez autora dla Ministerstwa Rozwoju Regionalnego w 2012 r. w ramach prac nad wdrożeniem zapisów nowej „Koncepcji Przestrzennego Zagospodarowania Kraju 2030” (Śleszyński 2013a).
In the first part of the article presented outlines the conditions of the cities impact on the surroundings, including issues related to the delimitation o f research and examples o f applications for Polish cities in the last fifty years. The second part p resents the results of the delimitation of functional urban areas performed for the 18 capitals of voivodeships, made by the author for the Ministry of Regional Development in 2012 in the framework o f the implementation of the National Spatial Development Concept 2030. Detailed criteria were as follows: 1) The number of people commuting (wage labour) to the core FUA (Functional Urban Area) per 1,000 population o f working age over 50 (2006); 2) The number o f registered immigration (check-ins) from the core FUA per 1000 population above 3 (2009); 3) The share of employed in non-agricultural occupations as a proportion of the voivodship average above 75% (2002); 4) The number of businesses entities per 1,000 population as a proportion of the provincial average above 75% (2011); 5) Participation of economic operators of higher order (sections J-R of NACE) relative to the core FUA above 50% (2011); 6) The population density (without forests and water) compared to the voivodship average of over 50% (2011); 7) The number of completed dwellings per 1000 inhabitants in 2002-2011 compared to the voivodship average of over 75%. The inclusion of the MOF was when fulfilled at least 6 of the 7 criteria.
