Opis:: Road traffic noise visualization is vital in three-dimensional (3D) space. Designing noise observation points (NOPs) and the developments of spatial interpolations are key elements for the visualization of traffic noise in 3D. Moreover, calculating road traffic noise levels by means of a standard noise model is vital. This study elaborates on the developments of data and spatial interpolations in 3D noise visualization. In 3D spatial interpolation, the value is interpolated in both horizontal and vertical directions. Eliminating flat triangles is vital in the vertical direction. Inverse distance weighted (IDW), kriging, and triangular irregular network (TIN) are widely used to interpolate noise levels. Because these interpolations directly support the interpolation of three parameters, the developments of spatial interpolations should be applied to interpolate noise levels in 3D. The TIN noise contours are primed to visualize traffic noise levels while IDW and kriging provide irregular contours. Further, this study has identified that the TIN noise contours fit exactly with NOPs in 3D. Moreover, advanced kriging interpolation such as empirical Bayesian kriging (EBK) also provides irregular shape contours and this study develops a comparison for such contours. The 3D kriging in EBK provides a significant approach to interpolate noise in 3D. The 3D kriging voxels show a higher accurate visualization than TIN noise contours.

Opis:: Residential housing developments built using the prefabricated method during the 1970s undoubtedly have their very own specificities. There exists a wide variety of opinions of the housing developments themselves, as well as of their social condition. The aim of this article is to identify residents' relationships with the residential housing development territory and to demonstrate the variety of those relationships as conditioned by various types of spatial planning. Various planning elements were taken in to account: building layout, green spaces, and recreational grounds. Residents' relationships with the territory are conveyed by individual residents' evaluations of their residential housing development (housing development evaluation, feelings of belonging) and external manifestations of attachment to the development (local involvement). The described topics are demonstrated using the examples of 4 residential housing developments in Warsaw.

Opis:: Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień związanych z kształtowaniem miejskich przestrzeni z punktu widzenia kompozycji i piękna w małych zespołach mieszkaniowych. Autor przedstawia założenia ideowe związane z kształtowaniem funkcjonalno-przestrzennym zrównoważonych zespołów mieszkaniowych, wśród których stosunek do natury stanowi podstawowe kryterium wpływające na kompozycję przestrzenną oraz piękno architektury. Przedstawia również aspekty, które zmieniają podejście do współczesnego oblicza i kompozycji miasta zakładając dominującą rolę środowiska przyrodniczego w kształtowaniu struktur miejskich. Artykuł prezentuje dwanaście nagrodzonych projektów architektoniczno-urbanistycznych studentów II roku wykonanych w roku akademickim 2014/2015w Katedrze Kształtowania Środowiska Mieszkaniowego Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej. W zakresie aspektów związanych z estetyką oraz kompozycją pojawiły się tendencje zmierzające do komponowania miejskich przestrzeni w ludzkiej skali z zachowaniem optymalnych wielkości powierzchni terenów biologicznie czynnych pozostających w silnych związkach z przyrodniczym otoczeniem. Zdaniem autora w związku ze znacznymi zagrożeniami globu ziemskiego m.in. spowodowanymi zmianami klimatycznymi, gwałtownym przyrostem demograficznym i znaczącą urbanizacją nastąpi w kształtowaniu funkcjonalno-przestrzennym oraz komponowaniu miejskich przestrzeni powrót do idei miasta ogrodu pozostającego w harmonii oraz symbiozie z otaczającą przyrodą. Miasta przyszłości przekształcą się w ogrody i staną się samowystarczalne energetycznie.
The article focuses on issues relating to the process of shaping urban spaces from the point of view of composition and beauty in small residential developments. The Author presents the conceptual assumptions connected with functional and spatial shaping of sustainable residential complexes, among which the attitude towards nature constitutes the fundamental criterion influencing the spatial composition and the beauty of architecture. The Author also presents aspects which change the attitude towards the contemporary appearance and composition of a city, assuming a dominating role of the natural environment in shaping urban structures. The article presents twelve awarded architectural and urban designs by students of the 2nd year, prepared in the academic year 2014/2015 in the Chair of Housing Environment, Faculty of Architecture, Cracow University of Technology. In the field of aspects relating to the aesthetics and composition, there appeared tendencies aiming at composing urban spaces in a human scale, maintaining optimal sizes of surfaces of biologically active areas, remaining in close relations with the natural surroundings. In the Author’s opinion, due to the considerable threats for the planet caused by e.g. climatic changes, rapid natural increase and significant urbanization, in the functional and spatial shaping process and in composing urban spaces there will be a return to the idea of a garden city, in harmony and symbiosis with the nature surrounding it. The cities of the future will transform into gardens and will become self-sufficient in terms of energy.
