Opis:
This paper attempts to acquaint Polish readers with the Russian Orthodox philosopher Pavel Florensky’s (1882–1937) thinking on the category of space‑ness, which together with the categories of symbolism and light is one of the key‑words in his theory of aesthetics. The concept of space is, according to Florensky, a criterion for distinguishing art types, although for him it is only a model, which can be used to help form judgments about the world. It is also the basis of being for the artwork itself. Painting and printmaking, among other arts types mentioned by Florensky (poetry, music, theatre, and architecture), have their own particularities in their organization of space. Painting and printmaking are, for Florensky, the truest art forms — art par excellence. The presentation of a threefold interpretation of the category of space‑ness, together with the description and justification of the divisions which are made in art based on these spatial categories by the philosopher is the leitmotiv of this paper. The aim of the paper is to present and discuss the opinions and arguments of the Orthodox thinker from his work Анализ пространственности (и времени) в художественно‑изобразительных произведениях, which has not yet been translated into Polish or English.

Dotychczasowe badania percepcji miast prowadzone były przy niskiej rozdzielczości przestrzennej, najczęściej przez uporządkowanie jednostek administracyjnych albo z wykorzystaniem mapy całego miasta, a następnie interpretowania umiejętności kartograficznych respondentów. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono podejście badawcze, w którym najpierw zostały wydzielone spójne wewnętrznie, wynikające z charakteru miejsca obszary badawcze, pokrywające całe miasto, a percepcję zbadano opierając się na bazie miejsc reprezentatywnych tych obszarów. Okazało się, że znaczną część percepcji determinuje struktura funkcjonalno-przestrzenna miejsca. Odmienne postrzeganie prawo- i lewobrzeżnej Warszawy okazało się jedynie stereotypem. Stymulacyjny charakter miasta dotyczył wyłącznie Śródmieścia, co sugeruje, że całościowy umysłowy obraz miasta powstaje na podstawie charakteru jego centrum. Zostało potwierdzone, że zieleń i woda jest niezbędnym elementem miejsca zamieszkania, pracy i wypoczynku oraz, że niezmiennie od ponad 35 lat najlepiej oceniany jest Trakt Królewski, od Starego Miasta do Wilanowa.
Previous urban perception studies were conducted at low spatial resolution, most often by select administrative units or based on map of the whole city and then interpret the cartographic skills of the respondents. In this paper we present a research approach where coherent, research-based areas covering the whole city were separated. Perception was defined in random representative places. As a result, the functional-spatial structure of a place is a significant part of perception, the different perception of the right and left bank of Warsaw is only a stereotype and the stimulating district in Warsaw is only Śródmieście. This suggests that the overall mental image of the city is based on the nature of city center. The research confirmed that green space and water are an essential element of residence, work and leisure and The Royal Route, from the Old Town to Wilanów, is best appreciated for over 35 years.

The form assumed contemporarily by spatial organization in South and Central America as a network of nodes and spatial linkages represents the outcome for the space of this region of long-acting external influences plus internal conditions that have - at diferent times in diferent ways shaped spatial relationships and the manner in which space in this part of the world is planned. Naturally, the spatial structure of today's economy is influenced further by globalization, with growing competition for access to resources, be these either mineral deposits or agricultural in nature. These impacts ensure that, notwithstanding the widely-voiced opinion on the need to protect nature in areas of the continent supporting moist tropical forests, and in the high Andes, the governments of the diferent countries continue to award concessions allowing corporations of global reach to exploit resources of value that are in demand worldwide. This aggressive “resources race” has its serious consequences with regard to the forms and scope the region's spatial management and organization assume. These processes ought to be regulated by spatial planning, which is thus failing to play its proper role at regional levels. Those researching South America refer without hesitation to the lack of planning and overexploitation of raw materials, with all the serious consequences this has for society, not least with regard to internal migration, expulsions, the impoverishment of groups in society deprived of their land, and so on.

Współczesne porty lotnicze z gałęziowych punktów i węzłów transportowych przekształcają się w multifunkcjonalne obiekty gospodarcze. Aktywizują one społeczno-gospodarczy potencjał struktur zagospodarowania przestrzeni. Porty lotnicze stały się ogniskami dyfuzji tendencji globalnych osiągnięć technologicznych, przestrzenno-demograficznych i kształtowania nowych, społeczno-ekonomicznych relacji. Jako miejsca nasilonej koncentracji przepływów ludności i lokalizacji inwestycji wzmacniają konkurencyjność współczesnych obszarów zurbanizowanych. Generują nowe miejsca pracy i prestiżową działalność w ich otoczeniu. Wokół współczesnych portów lotniczych powstają strefy okołolotniskowe, obszary o nowej użyteczności przestrzeni. Są one nośnikami nowoczesnego, ukierunkowanego rozwoju współczesnych struktur miejskich i regionalnych. Strefy okołolotniskowe, na zasadzie sprzężenia zwrotnego wzmacniają znaczenie i rozwój portów lotniczych. Porty lotnicze z otoczeniem cechują synergiczne współzależności rozwoju oraz osiągane korzyści. Celem opracowania jest prezentacja uwarunkowań, zakresu i efektów wpływu funkcji miastotwórczej oraz regionotwórczej portów lotniczych na rozwój stref okołolotniskowych na przykładzie portu lotniczego w Gdańsku.
Contemporary airports transformed from branch points and transport nodes into multifunctional buesiness objects. They are the leading force behind the socio-economic potential of space management structures. Aviation has become the focus of diffusion of trends in global technological, spatial and demographic development and the formation of new socioeconomic relationships. As a place of intensified concentration of population flows and investment locations, they strengthen the competitiveness of modern urbanized areas. Around modern airports are created “perimeter areas” of new usability of space. They are carriers of modern, focused development of modern urban and regional structures. The airport’s zones, on the basis of feedback, reinforce the importance and development of airports. Airports are characterized by synergistic interdependence of development and benefits. The aim of the study is to present the determinants, scope and effects of the influence of the metropolitan function and the region-forming airports on the development of the airport-related area on the example of the Gdansk airport.

Analizie poddano bliskogałęziowe pręty ściskane o długościach modułowych rzędu a = 3 m, stosowane w ściskanych pasach piramidowo-bocznych systemów montażowych regularnych struktur przestrzennych np. systemu „Zachód”. W takich prętach bliskogałęziowych, traktowanych jako pręty zwarte, stosowano cztery połączenia śrubowe w odstępach znacznie przekraczających wytyczne aktualnej normy europejskiej wynoszące 15 imin. Brak doniesień o awariach z tego tytułu stał się przyczyną badań modelowych. W badaniach modelowych zauważono, że między śrubowymi połączeniami w prętach dwugałęziowych występuje zjawisko samoczynnego wewnętrznego sprężenia gałęzi zwiększające ich nośność krytyczną w obszarze sprężystej utraty stateczności. Sposób wykorzystania tego zjawiska do zwiększenia nośności prętów bliskogałęziowych pokazano na przykładowych schematach. Sprężanie od wewnątrz prętów bliźniaczych może być stosowane w celu zwiększania nośności istniejących konstrukcji oraz w przypadku projektowania nowych konstrukcji zawierających pręty bliźniacze. W związku z tym, że opisywane zjawisko można wykorzystać w wielu różnych przypadkach, stanowi ono przedmiot dalszych badań piramidowo-bocznego systemu montażowego.
The paper presents analysis of closely spaced built-up bars under compression. The bars, the module length of a = 3 m, are used in compressed chords of pyramidal-lateral assembly systems of regular space structures. In such built-up bars, treated as one bar, four bolted connections were employed. The distance between the connections significantly exceeded the one recommended by the current Eurocode 3 which is 15 imin. Failures related to the solution above were not reported, which became a stimulus for conducting research on models. It was observed in the investigations that in two-chord bars between bolted connections, spontaneous internal prestressing between the chords occurred. That enhances the member ultimate bearing capacity in the zone of elastic stability loss. The effect can be achieved due to spontaneous prestressing from inside of twin bars. The application of the phenomenon to the enhancement of the bearing capacity of closely spaced built-up bars was demonstrated with the use of exemplary diagrams. Prestressing from inside can be applied to the existing structures in order to increase the ultimate bearing capacity, or to the design of new structures that contain twin bars. As the phenomenon described in the study can be used in many different cases, the issue needs to be included in further research onpyramidal-lateral assembly system.

The mathematical device for the analysis of the laser diode radiation space-time structure in a distant zone for laser range-finder is developed. The influence of phase heterogeneity and radiation delays variations on distances measurement accuracy is investigated. The method of distances measurement is offered by phase range-finder, which allows to take into account influence of a modulation phase variation.
Opracowane zostało narzędzie matematyczne do analizy struktury czasowo-przestrzennej emisji diod laserowych do dalmierzy. Zbadany został wpływ heterogeniczności fazy i zmienności opóźnienia promieniowania na dokładność pomiaru. Zaproponowano metodę pomiaru odległości za pomocą dalmierza fazowego, która pozwala na uwzględnienie wpływu zmienności modulacji fazy.

The article contains the systematization of stone churches in the territory of Galicia built in 1772-1918, which was carried out on the basis of their space-and-planning structures. It also provides the comparison with previous scientific studies. The article also determines the connection between social and political factors of the studied period and the formation of Ukrainian sacral architecture.

The starting structure of ab initio protein structure prediction methods is problematic as the energy minimization procedure stops searching for an optimal structure of the function's local minimum. The method presented in the paper helps to find the starting structure. Although it is based on the known native protein structure, it seems to deliver a key to the formation of a common universal starting structure. The limited conformational sub-space, defined on the basis of a geometrical model of the polypeptide backbone with the side chain-side chain interaction excluded, seems to deliver the original structure of the polypeptide, which is modified step by step as the role of the side chain interactions increases during the energy minimization procedure. Here, the method is applied to human hemoglobin chains alpha and ß to test the applicability of the method to proteins with a high content of helical forms and lacking disulphide bonds.

Decentralization processes are increasingly becoming the driving force of changes in the modern world, and how regional elites use their advantages and minimize their disadvantages depends on whether they will turn out to be a boon or a factor of social destruction. It is extremely important in modern conditions that the social and humanitarian sciences contribute to the conceptualization of system-dynamic interdisciplinary knowledge, the scope of which will cover not only the hierarchy of centers and peripheries within a single country, but also the space «above» state borders, which is amenable to regulation. The article is devoted to highlighting modern methodological approaches to reviewing the concepts of center-periphery relations and developing a new model of regionalism, which is based on the recognition of the freedom of pluralism and the intransitive importance of the ideas of multiculturalism. In this context, all cognitive strategies built on the advantages of the ideas of centralization, and first of all on the traditional model of center-periphery relations and modernization, undergo correction. It has been proven that the postmodern situation in which modern society is located is the least reminiscent of a domineering vertical, built according to the usual canons of center-periphery. Rather, it is associated with a heterogeneous horizon that can be modified in a wide variety of configurations. Reviewing the concepts, models and structure of established center-periphery relations contributes to rethinking the mechanisms and scope of influence of political, economic and cultural centers on the course of social development of spatial structures in the context of new challenges. Built on this foundation, the theory of center-periphery polarity is seen as an innovative operational tool in the entire system of natural and social sciences, which to one degree or another are engaged in the analysis of spatial relations

Opis:
The restriction of the input set in the form of a positive cone of the space is not always correct. For instance, while studying the organ of vision, people are limited not only to positive, but also to radiation with not very high energies, because excessively intense can disturb the visual organ. In this particular case, a convex body of a linear space is a fairly acceptable model of the set of input signals. Therefore, we consider linear predicates with this domain of definition.
