    Opis:
    The era of technological progress provides people with many opportunities to install in a building various systems such as heating, gas supply and ventilation that will help to improve the microclimate and comfort of use of the room. The environmental and economic side of these systems remain the main issues in selecting the type of installation. The article considers the energy efficiency of a heating system using a solar window. The data describes changes in the solar window heat carrier temperature and the nature of the change in thermal power over time. It was found that the proposed solar window model is quite effective and can be used in the design of of solar heating systems. The results of the study can be used in the design and choice of location of solar energy installations in Ukraine.
    Postęp techniczny stwarza możliwości i warunki do zastosowania w budynkach różnych systemów grzewczych i wentylacji, co pozwala kształtować odpowiedni mikroklimat i komfort użytkowania pomieszczeń. Jednak jednym z głównych aspektów wyboru rodzaju instalacji pozostają względy ekologiczne i ekonomiczne funkcjonowania tych systemów. W artykule omówiono efektywność energetyczną systemów grzewczych wykorzystujących tzw. okna słoneczne. Dane przytoczone w artykule zawierają informacje o temperaturze nośnika ciepła okna słonecznego i charakterze zmiany mocy cieplnej w czasie. Stwierdzono, że zaproponowany model okna słonecznego dobrze oddaje warunki jego funkcjonowania i może być stosowany w projektowaniu systemach opartych na wykorzystaniu energii promieniowania słonecznego. Wyniki badań mogą być przydatne przy planowaniu i wyborze miejsca lokalizacji instalacji wykorzystującej energię promieniowania słonecznego na terenie Ukrainy.

    Ensuring a sufficient level of thermal protection is currently one of the more important issues pertaining to buildings. It stems from the necessity to reduce operational energy consumption of the construction sector and the need to reduce the adverse effects of using “dirty” energy on the environment. This requirement pertains to both newly erected buildings and the ones being modernized. Decisions regarding choosing thermal parameters of partitions, including transparent ones, can be made by referencing the applicable insulation criteria, but also by using appropriate optimization procedures. These should be based on the heat balance measurement of the analyzed component that is as accurate as possible. In this article, the results of using an optimization procedure for windows proposed in energy audit methodology were compared to its extension which includes a component of solar heat gains. The presented extended method may be helpful to future investors, energy auditors, etc. in deciding on the thermal characteristics of transparent partitions.

    Opis:
    The small room with a window situated in the south-east corner of the Upper Terrace of the Hatshepsut Temple at Deir el-Bahari has been interpreted by scholars to be either a slaughterhouse or a temple palace of the female pharaoh. Considering the axes of the Temple, the meaning assigned to the southern direction in connection with the solar theology, as well as the relief decoration preserved around the mentioned window, the paper proposes to reconstruct in the said space a symbolic residence of the deceased divine Hatshepsut, later turned into a palace of the sun god in its aspect of the day sun. Besides describing the changing function of the structure, it also looks into the transformation of the pharaoh into a divine being, the form of the sun god. Finally, the paper suggests possible original locations for some of the Hatshepsut statues, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
