This paper presents an example application of a software program developed using the programming language VBA and designed for modelling queuing systems in the field of transport. The program enables users to quantitatively determine the indicators of the queuing systems. In order to show the program’s capabilities and how it can be used, two scenarios have been considered - modelling single-server and multi-server queuing systems of type M/M/1 and M/M/S, respectively, having a Poisson incoming flow of requests and exponentially distributed service times.

Context: Software measurement programs are essential to understand, evaluate, improve and predict the software processes, products and resources. However, successful implementation of software measurement programs (MPs) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is challenging. Objective: To perform a detailed analysis of studies on MPs for highlighting the existing measurement models, tools, metrics selection methods and challenges for implementing MPs in SMEs. Methods: A Systematic Mapping Study (SMS) is conducted. Results: In total, 35 primary studies are comprehensively analyzed. We identified 29 software measurement models and 4 tools specifically designed for MPs in SMEs. Majority of the measurement models (51%) are built upon software process improvement approaches. With respect to measurement purposes of models, the distribution of MPs was identified as: characterization (63%), evaluation (83%), improvement (93%) and prediction (16%). Majority of primary studies discussed the use of measurement experts and experience (60%) followed by the use of measurement standards (40% and the use of automated tools (22%) for metrics selection in MPs. We found that the SMEs and large organization face different challenges as studies in SMEs report challenges that exist even before the implementation of MPs due to infrastructure and management processes of SMEs. The challenges reported by studies in large organizations are mostly related to the issues discovered while implementing MPs. Conclusion: The analysis of measurement models, tools, metrics selection methods and challenges of implementing MPs should help the SMEs to make a feasibility study before implementing a MP.

Opis:
An approach to estimate the number of errors encountered during the program testing process is proposed in the paper. Considerations are based on some program reliability growth model which is constructed for assumed scheme of program testing process. In this model the program under the testing is characterized by means of so-called characteristic matrix and the program testing process is determined by means of so-called testing strategy. The formula for determining the mean value of the predicted number of errors encountered during the program testing is obtained. This formula can be used if the characteristic matrix and the testing strategy are known. Formula for estimating this value when the program characteristic matrix is not known are also proposed in the paper.

TestMaker software, developed in CIOP-PIB, is a modern, user-friendly tool for creating, classifying and modifying test items and whole tests. TestMaker also assists in creating various types of test items (multiple choice tests, graphic tests, etc.) and in generating their forms both as print-outs and standalone multimedia apps for PCs. The program is universal, so it can be used in any area of training or teaching.

Celem pracy było zbadanie stopnia wykorzystania programów komputerowych wspomagających prowadzenie gospodarstwa rolnego przez rolników. Badania zostały przeprowadzone poprzez bezpośrednie ankietowanie właścicieli 135 gospodarstw położonych na terenie dwóch gmin powiatu nowosądeckiego: Grybów oraz Nawojowa. Zdecydowana większość (77%) ankietowanych rolników docenia znaczenie wspomagania komputerowego w prowadzeniu działalności rolniczej, jednak niewielu z nich (17%) słyszało o systemach wspomagania decyzji. Jedynie 15 rolników korzysta z tych systemów, natomiast rolnicy posiadają inne specjalistyczne programy komputerowe.
The goal of this work was to analyze to what degree farmers use computer programs that support running a farm. The tests were conducted by direct polling of 135 owners of farms located in two communes in the Nowy Sącz county: Grybów and Nawojowa. Vast majority (77%) of interviewed farmers acknowledge the meaning of computer-aided support for running agricultural business, but few of them (17%) heard of decision support systems. Only 15 farmers use such systems, however farmers have other specialized computer programs.

The combustion temperature is one of parameters influencing the efficiency of combustion process. The analytical, model and design calculations of processes related to fuel combustion and heat exchange intensity require the combustion temperature to be correctly determined. These are, however, complex, and, as a consequence, burdensome and time-consuming requirements. Developing an appropriate software program will considerably streamline the calculation procedure. Based on analytical relationships for the combustion process, a computational software program has been developed within this study, which enables the determination of the calorimetric, theoretical and actual combustion temperatures of solid fuels.

Producers of research-development projects decided to prepare an application programme, which would enable maintenance of reporting in electronic form required by certification bodies. The design of such application programme will be prepared within the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR) project No NR12-0165-10/2010 titled: "Innovative influence of technology and information management supporting system on production efficiency in ecological farms". The article herein presents assumptions for design of such application programme.

Celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie typowych sposobów ustalania opłaty za korzystanie z programu komputerowego jako usługi i odniesienie tych uwag do uregulowania wynagrodzenia w ustawie o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych. W niniejszym opracowaniu omówiono ogólne założenie ochrony twórcy jako słabszej strony umowy oraz rozważano adekwatność tego założenia w kontekście programów komputerowych, w tym także modelu oprogramowania jako usługi. Następnie przedstawiono systemy wynagradzania za korzystanie z utworu i rodzaje typowych opłat związanych z eksploatacją rozważanego dobra niematerialnego w chmurze obliczeniowej. Szczegółowej analizie poddano opłatę uzależnioną od rozmiaru rzeczywistego użycia programu komputerowego oraz opłatę uzależnioną od liczby jego użytkowników. Na tej podstawie wskazano także różnice między modelem oprogramowania jako usługi i modelem licencjonowania programów komputerowych udostępnionych na nośniku danych. W konkluzji stwierdzono, że odmienność w sposobie kształtowania powyższych opłat wynika przede wszystkim z zastosowanej technologii eksploatacji utworu.
The purpose of the article is to present typical modes of determining the fee in Software as a Service and to refer these remarks to the regulation of remuneration in Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act. The paper discusses the general assumption, that the author as a weaker party needs a protection, and considers the adequacy of the assumption in the context of computer programs, including Software as a Service. Subsequently there are described systems of payment for using the work and kinds of typical fees connected with the exploitation of an intangible good in the cloud. The fee depending on the size of the real use of the computer programs and the fee depending on the number of users were subjected to a scrutiny. On this basis the differences between Software as a Service and licensing computer programs delivered on data media are also indicated. In the conclusion it is stated, that the divergence in the mode of shaping the aforementioned fees results mainly from the technology applied to the exploitation of the work.

This paper introduces basic theoretical knowledge of coalgebras in computer science. Coalgebras are, specifically in category theory, structures defined according to an endofunctor. For both algebra and coalgebra, a functor is a convenient and general way of defining a signature. We present practical usage of the coalgebras in an example. We observe a behavior of a simple Sequencer developed in SLGeometry framework. We model its behavior with the simple program written in Python, and we describe its behavior within coalgebra of endofunctor. The computation of the values stored in internal states is performed coinductively. Our approach can be used in the teaching process of formal methods for young software engineers.

W artykule przedstawiono różne możliwości opracowania kartodiagramów w wybranych czterech programach komputerowych typu GIS. Omówiono mapy opracowane w sposób automatyczny, według ustawień domyślnych oraz takie, których opracowanie wspomagane jest wiedzą kartograficzną wykonawcy. Prześledzono poszczególne etapy opracowania kartodiagramu oraz możliwości programów GIS w tym zakresie. Otrzymane mapy oraz ich legendy oceniono pod względem respektowania podstawowych zasad metodyki kartograficznej.
Two types of computer software can be used for map preparation: a graphic program, eg. Corel Draw orAdobe lllustrator, or Geographic Information System (GIS). The article presents various options of diagram map preparation in four selected GIS-type computer pro-grams: Maplnfo Professional 7.8, ArcMap 9.1 (from ArcGIS 9.1 package), MapViewer 7, Microsoft Map-Point 2006. The analysis involved using the programs to present statistical data in the form of a diagram map, and evaluation of the resulting map. Subsequent stages of diagram map preparation were analyzed as were the capabilities of particular programs in that respect (fig.1). The elements which are vital for map's correctness were analyzed in the first place. After defining the basie assumptions of the diagram map method and identifying errors possible at each stage it was possible to evaluate the accuracy of solutions applied in particular programs. Maps prepared using the default settings were analyzed as well as those, the preparation of which asked for some cartographic skill of the user. The analysis showed that the programs provided a similar level of options in respect to diagram map preparation. None of them is faultless, but they all have their strengths. Only MapPoint falls behind; it is significantly poorer and provides less options. It can be stated that Maplnfo, ArcMap and MapViewer are all similarly useful for diagram map preparation, although they differ in their functionalities at different stages of editing. Preparation of a proper diagram map asks for relevant cartographic skill. For a skilled user GIS programs can provide a tool for quick and simple preparation of acceptable and often visually attractive diagram maps. Programs are easy to use, so even an inexperienced user will be able to prepare a map with them. Unfortunately in such cases quality may suffer, because the programs contain some shorteomings and cartographically questionable solutions. There are also many 'traps' which await an inexperienced editor. Regretfully the programs do not include any limits as to the number of elements of the presented structure. Cartographic conventions and code of practice, which result from many years of experience should be considered during the preparation of GIS-type cartographic software. Such programs would enable any, even inexperienced, user to visualize data in a way both comprehensible and correct.

W dobie coraz bardziej precyzyjnych urządzeń sortujących i separujących plon rozpoznanie jak największej ilości cech materiału biologicznego jest koniecznością. Celem pracy było zbudowanie układu pomiarowego umożliwiającego wyznaczenia podstawowych wielkości liniowych płodów rolnych w warunkach statycznych. Układ pomiarowy pozwolił określić podstawowe wielkości liniowe cebuli oraz powierzchnię rzutu badanego obiektu na podłoże wraz z długością obwodu, a po wprowadzeniu masy wyznaczał ciśnienie wywierane na podłoże i współczynnik wypełnienia gabarytowego cebuli. Wyznaczono współczynniki sferyczności dwóch odmian cebuli stwierdzając dużą efektywność układu pomiarowego.
At a time of increasingly more precise sorting and separating equipment, the need to recognize a wide variety of properties of biological material is crucial for high-precision sorting and separating and for ensuring high-quality food products. The shape of crops is vital during separation, which is outstandingly varied and difficult to classify. This involves the material's three dimensions; namely length, width, and thickness. The purpose of this paper is to establish a measurement system allowing for setting the basic linear values of crops in static conditions. The software allows the setting of basic linear values such as length, perimeter and the area of the material's projection on the ground, as well as the introduction of the weight of the facility studied, the pressure exerted on the base and the overall packing coefficient. The spherical coefficient has been set for two varieties of onion, approving the high effectiveness of the measurement system in establishing such values.

Opis:
Gekko software is designed to keep reporting in organic farms, which is required by supervising institutions. The program enables collection in its base, data, which are required from a farmer and additional information as well. Based on these data, reports and lists are generated in the program. However, beside standard lists, the software enables programming by a user his calculations. These calculations enable generating unpredicted lists in a standard version of the software. Gekko software was developed within the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR ) project No NR 12-0165-10/2010 titled "Innovative influence of technology and information manage-ment supporting system on production efficiency in organic farms."
Program Gekko przeznaczony jest do prowadzenia w gospodarstwach ekologicznych sprawozdawczości wymaganej przez instytucje nadzorujące. Program umożliwia gromadzenie w swojej bazie, danych wymaganych od rolnika, a także informacji dodatkowych. Na podstawie tych danych generowane są w programie raporty i zestawienia. Jednak poza standardowymi zestawieniami, program umożliwia programowanie przez użytkownika własnych obliczeń. Te obliczenia umożliwiają wygenerowanie zestawień nieprzewidzianych w standardowej wersji oprogramowania. Program Gekko opracowany został w ramach projektu NCBiR Nr NR12-0165-10 pt.: „Innowacyjne oddziaływanie techniki i technologii oraz informatycznego wspomagania zarządzania na efektywność produkcji w gospodarstwach ekologicznych”.
