Opis:
The research aims to recognize the potential of adopting the model-based design methodology to the development process of an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) fuelling system. Changing regulations often force the modern development of internal combustion engines (Euro 7, CO2 reduction measures, etc.). With the definitive ban on new registrations of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines in Europe (planned for 2035), there is still ongoing development of the adaptation of the fuelling system to LPG. There is still market potential in adapting new internal combustion engines, usually equipped with direct injection systems, to reduce customers’ cost of ownership of a vehicle. As the engineering process should be accelerated in the face of the variety of direct injection systems offered by OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), the model-based design methodology is proposed to make the development more effective. The article presents the SWOT analysis of this approach in the engineering process and the potential of the method in an LPG system development is concluded.

Background: Game scenario is an important factor for achieving player enjoyment; consisting a key business success factor. Additionally, the production of early design artifacts is crucial for the success of the development process. However, representing scenarios is a non-trivial task: (a) multiple aspects of the game need to be visualized; and (b) there is a plethora of representation approaches, out of which the game designer needs to select from. Aim: The goal of this work is to provide a panorama of the current scenario representation approaches, to aid game engineers in selecting the most fitting scenario representation approach and understand the existing designing options. Method: We have performed a Systematic Mapping Study, using 4 digital libraries, since the main goal can be achieved through study classification. By following an established search and filtering process, we have identified 717 articles, and analyzed in detail 95. Results: Diagrams are the most common generic approach to represent scenario; Game story is the most usual part of the scenario being represented; Characters are the most common component; and Transitions are the most usual connectors. Conclusion: Researchers may get useful information for empirically investigating several game engineering aspects; whereas game engineers can efficiently select the most fitting approach.

Background: Fault prediction is a key problem in software engineering domain. In recent years, an increasing interest in exploiting machine learning techniques to make informed decisions to improve software quality based on available data has been observed. Aim: The study aims to build and examine the predictive capability of advanced fault prediction models based on product and process metrics by using machine learning classifiers and ensemble design. Method: Authors developed a methodological framework, consisting of three phases i.e., (i) metrics identification (ii) experimentation using base ML classifiers and ensemble design (iii) evaluating performance and cost sensitiveness. The study has been conducted on 32 projects from the PROMISE, BUG, and JIRA repositories. Result: The results shows that advanced fault prediction models built using ensemble methods show an overall median of $F$-score ranging between 76.50% and 87.34% and the ROC(AUC) between 77.09% and 84.05% with better predictive capability and cost sensitiveness. Also, non-parametric tests have been applied to test the statistical significance of the classifiers. Conclusion: The proposed advanced models have performed impressively well for inter project fault prediction for projects from PROMISE, BUG, and JIRA repositories.

At present, practically all areas of design activities are supported by computer technology, which can be effectively used in the design of gears, belts and chain transmissions, especially in the field of calculations, as well as graphics solutions. However, their use requires mastering the basic principles of computational procedures contained in the programs in question and, on that basis, critically evaluating computer-generated solutions. The presented paper deals with the design proposal and application of program for calculation and check of chain gears. Although there are currently various programs on the market that can design chain transmissions and perform strength analysis, there is still space for improvement and the creation of these programs. The computing program has been created as a spreadsheet in the working environment of the Microsoft Office program by the Excel application through defined sequences of the individual commands. The program serves for design proposal of a chain drive by means of inserted databases, graphs and tables. In the process of designing and checking the input values are entered such as performance, rotations, and number of wheels. Through calculation the software generates speed of a chain, circumferential speed, tensile force, number of chain links, axial distance, etc. At the same time the paper compares generated parameters with manual calculation of the chain gear.

Background: Modern industry is heavily dependent on software. The complexity of designing and developing software is a serious engineering issue. With the growing size of software systems and increase in complexity, inconsistencies arise in software design and intelligent techniques are required to detect and fix inconsistencies. Aim: Current industrial practice of manually detecting inconsistencies is time consuming, error prone and incomplete. Inconsistencies arising as a result of polymorphic object interactions are hard to trace. We propose an approach to detect and fix inconsistencies in polymorphic method invocations in sequence models. Method: A novel intelligent approach based on self regulating particle swarm optimization to solve the inconsistency during software system design is presented. Inconsistency handling is modelled as an optimization problem that uses a maximizing fitness function. The proposed approach also identifies the changes required in the design diagrams to fix the inconsistencies. Result: The method is evaluated on different software design models involving static and dynamic polymorphism and inconsistencies are detected and resolved. Conclusion: Ensuring consistency of design is highly essential to develop quality software and solves a major design issue for practitioners. In addition, our approach helps to reduce the time and cost of developing software.

The main objective of this research was to propose a light and practical design solution for electric bike front drive with bottom bracket electric motor. The initial design needs to be redesigned so it can enable simultaneous use of the electric drive and pedal drive, with integration of the front gear shifter. After gathering the basic information linked to the problem and inspecting the initial design solution, the assets and flaws have been identified. The CAD models of the considered possible solutions were developed into FEM models which were used for struc- tural analysis in CAD/CAE software system CATIA. On the basis of the FEM analysis and additional criteria, the optimal solution was chosen, and structural optimization, based on FEM model, was performed. A prototype was manufactured and a mounting process in a place of the initial design was performed. Afterwards, electric bike with mounted prototype was tested under real conditions.

Artykuł łączy przedstawienie podstawowych problemów planowania przedsięwzięć budowlanych w ujęciu Open BIM z przedstawieniem przedsięwzięcia badawczo-dydaktycznego w ujęciu Open BIM PL realizowanego w latach 2014-2020 w Politechnice Poznańskiej przy ekstremalnym wykorzystaniu polskich rozwiązań technicznych, w tym polskiego oprogramowania komputerowego. Przedstawione podejście wychodząc od koncepcji systemu i komponentów budowlanych opiera się na integracji konstrukcja-kosztorys-harmonogram uwzględniając podejście od 2D-3D-BIM do analiz 4D-5D-6D. Cechą charakterystyczną działań jest projektowanie budowlano-wykonawcze w podstawowym poziomie szczegółowości opracowania w ujęciu LOD, jako forma opcjonalnej standaryzacji na obecnym etapie wdrażania BIM w Polsce. Częścią projektu jest wykorzystanie oprogramowania zagranicznego, głównie europejskiego w oparciu o otwarte standardy wymiany danych – zwłaszcza IFC i BCF – oraz standardy de facto, jeśli są stosowane w różnych programach.
The article combines the presentation of the basic problems of construction project planning in terms of Open BIM approach with the presentation of a research and teaching project in terms of Open BIM PL implemented in 2014-2020 at the Poznań University of Technology with extremal using of Polish technical solutions, including Polish computer software. The presented approach, starting from the concept of the system and building components, is based on the design-cost estimate-schedule integration, taking into account the approach from 2D-3D-BIM, to 4D-5D-6D analyzes. Characteristic feature of the activities is the construction and executive design at the basic level of definition in the LOD approach, as a form of optional standardization at the current stage of BIM implementation in Poland. Part of the project is using of foreign software, mainly European, based on the open data exchange standards – specially IFC and BCF – and de facto standards, if they are applicable in various programs, not only in products of producer.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to design and implement an automatic number plate recognition system. The system has still images as the input, and extracts a string corresponding to the plate number, which is used to obtain the output user data from a suitable database. The system extracts data from a license plate and automatically reads it with no prior assumption of background made. License plate extraction is based on plate features, such as texture, and all characters segmented from the plate are passed individually to a character recognition stage for reading. The string output is then used to query a relational database to obtain the desired user data. This particular paper utilizes the intersection of a hat filtered image and a texture mask as the means of locating the number plate within the image. The accuracy of location of the number plate with an image set of 100 images is 68%.

Public utility buildings are formal, structurally and functionally complex entities. In order to demonstrate energy-related defects of building designs developed by students, the conduct of analyses was proposed. The completed designs of public utility buildings were examined with regard to the energy efficiency of the solutions they feature through the application of the following program: Ecotect software was sufficient. Implementations of patterns (even the same kind) can vary considerably from one another and do not provide the expected benefits. The paper presents a solution for measuring the implementation of patterns, and then provides a verification of this solution in practice and on the space of a joint formal representation.

Developers working according to agile methodologies are very happy to implement design patterns in their work. They often do so based solely on their own experience, which does not take into account the additional benefits that can be expected from implementing patterns. The purpose of the article is to present the mileage and results of verification of the method of assesment design patterns in production. The experiment was conducted jointly with an external company, working according to a agile manufacturing methodology.

This study investigates a digital control system which is used in bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motors (BPMSMs). Compared with traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors, a BPMSM is characterized by higher speed and no mechanic friction. Therefore, the application value of the latter to the special area is higher than that of the former. An analysis from previous work on the BPMSM had proved its feasibility, and some performances such as suspension force, inductance and so on were also investigated. Based on this analysis, this study focuses on solving control problems in practical applications by designing a control system. The control system design includes overall schematic, hardware and software designs. Main software systems, including the force/current transform module and closed loop control module for radial displacement, are analyzed. Interface circuit for radial displacement, current feedback circuit and dead zone protection circuit are designed for the hardware system. Finally, several performance experiments have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the designed digital control system. Experiment results indicate that the rotor has unique characteristics, such as stable suspension performance, good start-of-suspension performance, and rapid anti-disturbance features.

Opisano proces projektowania technologii odlewniczej pozwalającej uzyskać odlew żeliwny tarczy hamulcowej przy wykorzystaniu narzędzi CAD i CAE. Do obliczeń projektowych poszczególnych układów wlewowych zastosowano wzory powszechnie dostępne w literaturze dotyczącej branży odlewniczej. Obliczenia projektowe, proces projektowania w oprogramowaniu CAD – SOLIDWORKS oraz symulacje numeryczne w oprogramowaniu MAGMASOFT wykonano dla czterech różnych technologii wykonania odlewu. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na dobranie najkorzystniejszej technologii odlewniczej dla odlewu tarczy hamulcowej. Wybrana technologia odznacza się najlepszą konstrukcją układu wlewowego zarówno pod względem kształtu, jak i jego zasilenia. Ponadto wybrana technologia charakteryzuje się wysokim uzyskiem spośród pozostałych technologii, co prowadzi do ograniczenia kosztów związanych z procesem odlewniczym detalu tarczy hamulcowej.
Describes the process of casting technology design that produces an iron casting brake disc using CAD and CAE tools. For design calculations of the individual filling and ventilating systems uses the formulas commonly available in the literature for the foundry industry. Design calculations, design CAD software – SOLIDWORKS and numeric simulations MAGMASOFT software made for four different technology. Analysis has allowed the selection of the best casting technology for cast iron brake disc. The selected technology is the best design of the casting system in terms of both shape and its powering. In addition, the selected technology is characterized by high yield out of other technologies, which leads to a reduction of the costs associated with the process of casting part – brake disc.

This paper describes an application of three-dimensional (also “3D”) models respectively to selected types of citizen participation. Detailed descriptions of those types are in the beginning of paper, because they are a starting points to consider using 3D models in public participation in urban design and spatial planning. In this paper, the selected software, that supports urban planners in preparing, carrying out and evaluate of participation process, has been discussed. The aim of this paper is to present the application of various tools, which allow generation of 3D models, suitable to selected methods of participation.
