- The aim of the article is to show the importance of the sociological perspective for understanding the state in the globalized geopolitical order. It is about answering the basic problem question: Does the shaped perspective of sociological thinking affect the view of the state in the globalized geopolitical order? A working thesis can be put forward that it is possible to identify two basic perspectives that have such an impact on the contemporary view of the state as a subject of geopolitics in the global world. These perspectives can be described as problem-systemic on the one hand, and semiotic-interactionist on the other. Therefore, the article is a meta-theoretical look at sociology not only as a discipline of a neutral description of social modernity, but also as an important factor shaping it. The dominance of one or the other perspective is important especially in the description of the geopolitical conditions of the state in the globalized world.
