Opis:
Despite the rapid development of IT security systems, the number of crimes committed in cyberspace continues to rise. The adverse effects of being in cyberspace cause threats to mental, social and health life. Therefore, raising citizens’ awareness of cybercrime is essential. The article addresses the benefits and threats associated with legal responsibility in the context of combating cybercrime. Understanding the mechanisms for, among others, assessing security is the first step towards making rational decisions online. With the increasing risk of attacks that take advantage of imperfections in the human mind, it is the human factor that plays a decisive role in cybersecurity. Cybereducation uses theories of education and also impacts the quality of learning. It is not possible to deliver it effectively without digital resources. Besides legal responsibility, social and psychological relations, and theories of education, the author devotes much attention to modern information and communication technologies. He clearly outlines the introduction and characterises the most important concepts regarding cybereducation, pointing out legal responsibility and web threats, as well as the quality of education with the use of digital resources.

This paper explores the social dimension of security concerning public broadcasters in Poland and in Italy. Public broadcasters are obliged to design their content around a mission. This is a requirement under national regulations on state security. From the perspective of national systems with legal and political histories as different as Poland’s and Italy’s, the shaping of the social space by public broadcasters’ digital tools reflects the transnational vector of action based on public media.

The purpose of this article is to explore the religious roots of modern ethical reflection on the economy. The starting point is the well-known debate between Weber and Tawney regarding the Protestant work ethic and the rise of capitalism. According to the author, it is necessary to trace the subsequent development of this ethic, particularly in the United States, as it was a final destination for Protestant migrants who embodied the spirit of capitalism. This ultimately resulted in a different form of this spirit than what was initially proposed by Max Weber and Richard Tawney, due to the transformation of American Reformed Protestantism. The Gospel of Wealth and the Social Gospel not only revealed a different side of American capitalism at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, but also remain relevant in present-day discussions on the ethical aspects of the economy and business administration.

Opis:
Religion can become an instrument of manipulation and destabilization in society, everything depends on people who have access to the levers of power, the position of Church hierarchs and the level of religious literacy of the population. The article is devoted to the study of the concept of the correlation of national identity and Christian universalism, as well as the model of Church–State relations in the modern social teaching of the Russian Orthodox Church, in the context of the analysis of some aspects of the religiosity of the Belarusian student youth, namely quantitative indicators of trust in the Church, attendance of divine services, and confessional affiliation.
Религия может стать инструментом манипуляции и дестабилизации в обществе, все зависит от людей, имеющих доступ к рычагам власти, позиции церковных иерархов и уровня религиозной грамотности населения. Статья посвящена исследованию концепции соотношения национальной идентичности и христианского универсализма, а также модели церковно-государственных отношений в современном социальном учении Русской Православной Церкви, в контексте анализа некоторых аспектов религиозности белорусской студенческой молодежи, а именно количественных показателей доверия к церкви, посещение богослужений и конфессиональной принадлежности.

The article presents the research project “Pandemic diaries” carried out by a team working under the scientific supervision of prof. Wiesław Gumuła. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Institute of Literature in Krakow, which in 2020 announced a literary competition for journals that were to be devoted to everyday life in pandemic conditions. Researchers adopted the theoretical perspective of the sociology of everyday life and the phenomenological one. The analysis concerned the categories appearing in dailies such as social change, social relations, time, death, tourism, economy and economy, and many others. The diaries have literary value and contain important social content that has become the subject of sociological analyzes broadening the knowledge about people’s lives in conditions of sudden and unexpected change.

Opis:
Technology-enhanced international virtual exchanges (IVE), or Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), provide educators and students with the access and tools to connect with the world through collaboration with colleagues and peers in a global context (SUNY COIL Center, “Welcome”, n.d.a). In the IVE courses, students in different countries work together to broaden not only their academic knowledge, but also digital literacy, critical thinking, problemsolving, teamwork, and communication skills (Werner, 2015). In this study, technology-enhanced IVE are introduced and the benefits of IVE for educators and students are explored. Some concrete examples are also shared of how two professors from Ukraine and the United States reflected on the course of collaboration with our French partner professor to co-plan and co-teach a technology-enhanced IVE course in order to offer sustainable international education and provide students with the opportunities to gain diverse cross-cultural, cross-linguistic, and cross-disciplinary experiences, to demonstrate communication skills using technology, and to improve their intercultural competence.

Among the popular music festivals operating in Poland in the last forty years, two of them played a special role, especially for their young recipients of amplified music. The first of them was the Rock Festival in Jarocin (it had different names) functioning in the years 1980–1994, so still in the period of communist authorities. Reactivated in 2005, it recently operates under the name Jarocin Festival and uses the legend of the event from the 1980s. In the new socio-political conditions, the second important event, the Pol’and’Rock Festival (called Woodstock Station in 1995–2017), began to function in 1995, which in the late 1990s exceeded 100,000 participants and became the largest popular music event in Poland. The aim of the study is to characterise the impact of these two important popular music festivals in Poland at the turn of the second and third decade of the 21st century in the spatial and socio-cultural dimensions on the community of its participants. Referring to the traditional chorological paradigm of human geography, an analysis of the differentiation of the territorial impact of festivals was made, and using patterns immersed in social geography-oriented music research, factors motivating to participate in festivals were determined.

In modern conditions, the level of scientific development of theoretical and practical problems of self-employment is at an early stage. It should be noted that in the conditions of market transformations, self-employment for a certain part of the population is a way to survive in difficult life situations. Self-employment as a type of economic behavior can be described, on the one hand, as a strategy to ensure living conditions in a changing life situation and solve the problem of unemployment, and on the other – as the first step in the implementation of entrepreneurial behavior. The transition of self-employment to entrepreneurial activity is a social indicator of maturity of the subject of individual labor activity. Self-employment is a manifestation of further self-organization of individuals and is characterized as a strategy to solve the problem of unemployment and ensure proper living conditions. Determined by autonomy and freedom of action, self-employment ideally allows a person to receive income, adequate quantity and quality of labor and investment. At the legislative level, the term “self-employed person” has the following definition. A self-employed person is a taxpayer who is an individual entrepreneur or carries out an independent professional activity, provided that such a person is not an employee within such entrepreneurial or independent professional activity. Self-employment differs from traditional employment with regular remuneration by its inherent autonomy and individual orientation, which contributes to the gradual formation of a fundamentally new stratum of the economically active population, which has abandoned paternalistic expectations. This is the social value of self-employment. The most common type of self-employment is entrepreneurial activity, which includes a system of actions and deeds related to starting your own business, business activity, risk. The market environment expands the freedom to choose the scope of labor, the possibility of applying labor, which, combined with the responsibility of economic entities for the results of production, promotes the development of effective forms of self-employment, including small business.

The aim of the text is a hermeneutic analysis of two Austrian dramas: the one-act play by Herbert Berger from the year 1970 and Peter Turrini's play from the year 2018. Both works are examples of a contemporary variation of the genre "Volksstück" with a hybrid tradition in German-language literature and theater dating back to the 18th century. The comparative analysis of both works focuses on the mechanisms of actions and the role of the characters' moral instinct, while the diagnoses of important social and political problems made by playwright writers may be the key to a better understanding by the reader.

Przybliża zagadnienie uzależnień, ich rodzaje, mechanizmy działania i uwarunkowania społeczne. Sytuuje uzależnienie od telefonu jako uzależnienie behawioralne związane z nowymi mediami. Przedstawia przyczyny i pokazuje skutki fonoholizmu. Wykazuje związek zmian modelu komunikacji z powstaniem nowych mediów oraz z uzależnieniem od nich. Pokazuje wpływ uzależnienia od telefonu na relacje oraz zmiany społeczne zachodzące w związku z postępującym rozwojem technologii.
The article presents a relatively new addiction, namely: phone addiction. It covers the unsafe use of the mobile phone and the Internet. It introduces the issue of addictions, their types, mechanisms of action and social conditions. It places phone addiction as a behavioural addiction related to new media. It introduces the causes and shows the effects of phonoholism. It shows the relationship between changes in the communication model and the emergence of new media and addiction to them. It shows the impact of addiction to the phone on relationships and the social changes taking place in connection with the progressive development of technology.

Like the United States, Japan views its relations with Taiwan through a greater China framework. It uses a similar strategic ambiguity toward Taiwan to navigate its relations with China and Taiwan. However, Japan’s recent strong support for Taiwan to counter China’s pressure on the island seems to suggest that Japan’s Taiwan policy is moving away from its old strategic ambiguity toward a new strategic clarity. Why has Japan started to protect Taiwan proactively and directly in recent years? How to explain the transformation of Japan’s policy regarding Taiwan from strategic ambiguity to strategic clarity? Drawing upon various primary materials, this article approached those questions from a social constructivism lens. It argues that Japan’s new identity is a critical factor in Japan’s strategic transformation of its Taiwan policy. Japan’s new identity has first taken shape due to the growing challenge from China, and second been accelerated and hardened by the caprices of the United States. It is this new identity and its associated normative expectations that have caused Japan’s foreign behaviour to change fundamentally. This article will detail the process in which how Japan steadily changed its state identity over the years after showing that the existing explanations are unable to properly account for the shift of Japan’s policy toward Taiwan. Some policy implications will be offered in the conclusion section.
Japonia, podobnie jak USA, postrzega swoje relacje z Tajwanem w szerszym chińskim kontekście. Państwo to jeszcze do niedawna w swej polityce względem Chin oraz Tajwanu posługiwało się znaną z relacji USA–Tajwan koncepcją strategicznej ambiwalencji. Tymczasem, silne poparcie udzielone wyspie wobec coraz intensywniejszych nacisków ze strony ChRL, zdaje się sugerować, iż Japonia w swoich relacjach z Tajwanem zaczyna odchodzić od dotychczasowej polityki strategicznej ambiwalencji w stronę strategicznej jednoznaczności. Celem artykułu jest analiza przyczyn, jakie stały za zmianą japońskiej polityki wobec Tajwanu w ostatnich latach. Zdaniem autora, odejście władz Japonii od dotychczasowej polityki strategicznej ambiwalencji w stosunku do Tajwanu spowodowane jest strukturalną zmianą, jaka zaszła w polityce zagranicznej Japonii znajdującej swój wyraz zarówno w aspekcie normatywnym, jak i militarnym. Przyczyn owej zmiany autor upatruje we wzroście zagrożenia ze strony Chin oraz bezpośrednio związanej z tym presji USA wywieranej na swego japońskiego sojusznika.

Dynamicznie zmieniający się rynek usług edukacyjnych oraz wzrastające wymagania społeczne kierowane wobec instytucji edukacyjnych i jej przedstawicieli uzależniły sukces współczesnej szkoły od wypracowania atrakcyjnej marki w środowisku, umożliwiającej wyróżnienie się na tle konkurencji oświatowej i pozyskanie potencjalnych klientów usług edukacyjnych (rodziców i ich dzieci). Dlatego w opracowaniu zostały zaprezentowane najważniejsze elementy składające się na proces kształtowania pozytywnego i spójnego wizerunku placówki edukacyjnej w środowisku lokalnym, zarówno z perspektywy teoretycznej, jak i praktycznej. Przedstawiono propozycję autorskiego modelu strategii kreowania wizerunku i promocji współczesnej szkoły, pozwalającego na kreowanie i zarządzanie wizerunkiem placówki edukacyjnej w czasie poprzez działania z zakresu public relations. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na diagnozę lokalnego rynku usług edukacyjnych, poprzedzającą formułowanie założeń strategii wizerunkowej placówki, a także omówiono rolę mediów społecznościowych w podtrzymywaniu wypracowanego wizerunku szkoły. W podsumowaniu wymienione zostały korzyści wynikające z zastosowania proponowanego modelu oraz przedstawiono wskazówki dotyczące kreowania wizerunku szkoły do wykorzystania w praktyce oświatowej przez kadrę zarządzającą placówkami edukacyjnymi.
Dynamically changing educational services market and growing social needs addressed towards educational institutions and its representatives have defined success of modern school depending on working out attractive brand in the society environment, allowing it to be distinguished among others and gain potential customers of its services (parents and their children). Due to that reason, the study presents the most important elements which consist the process of shaping positive and coherent image of educational institution in local environment, both from the theoretical and practical perspective. A proposition of a proprietary model of a strategy for creating the image and promotion of a contemporary school was presented, allowing to create and manage the school image during time through public relations activities. In addition, attention was paid to the diagnosis of the local educational services market, preceding the formulation of the assumptions of the image strategy of the institution, and discussed the role of social media in maintaining the developed image of the school. The summary lists the benefits of using the proposed model and presents guidelines for creating the image of the school to be used in educational practice by the management of educational institutions.

Stosunki polsko-żydowskie w pierwszej połowie XX w. pozostają najtrudniejszym fragmentem wspólnych losów. Bardzo często opinie o nich nie mają oparcia w solidnej analizie materiału źródłowego. Tekst powstał w efekcie prac badawczych uwzględniających niewykorzystywany dotąd materiał źródłowy odnoszący się do początków województwa stanisławowskiego w latach 1921–1922. Budowa państwa polskiego na Kresach Wschodnich była niezwykle trudna z uwagi na wrogość ludności ukraińskiej walczącej o własne państwo, słabość własnych struktur administracyjnych czy brak poparcia mocarstw Ligi Narodów. Ludność żydowska wobec starań i działań państwa polskiego zachowywała chłodną neutralność, sprzyjając raczej staraniom ludności ukraińskiej. Obraz samoizolacji społeczności żydowskiej wobec państwa polskiego, niechęci do udziału w wyborach czy spisie powszechnym jest istotnym elementem w dyskusji o wzajemnych stosunkach polsko-żydowskich w II Rzeczypospolitej.
Polish-Jewish relations in the first half of the 20th century remain the most difficult fragment of our common fate. Very often opinions about them are formulated that are not based on a solid analysis of the source material. The ensuing text was created as a result of research work on previously unused source material relating to the beginnings of the Stanisławów Province in the years 1921-1922. Building the Polish state in the Eastern Borderlands was extremely difficult, especially in view of the hostility of the Ukrainian people fighting for the establishment of their own state, the weakness of their own administrative structures, or the lack of support from the powers of the League of Nations. The Jewish population maintained a cold neutrality in the face of the efforts and actions of the Polish state, favouring the efforts of the Ukrainian people. The image of the selfisolation of the Jewish population from the Polish state, reluctance to participate in elections or the census, is an important element in the discussion on Polish-Jewish relations in the Second Polish Republic.

This paper focuses on the sociological analysis of power relations in terms of the concept of the network society. It starts with a discussion on the network approach and its understanding in social sciences. The author analyzes several mediating notions such as social network, power, structure, language, and collectivity grounded in the sociological approach. Further analysis leads to the discussion of power relations in technologically developed societies. The author searches for answers to many fundamental questions to open up avenues for building a coherent network theory. To achieve these goals, she uses a sociological approach that is based mainly on the criticism of writing and the analytical and synthetic methods.

Cel. Artykuł przedstawia analizę relacji społecznych, jakie mają miejsce między nauczycielami i rodzicami w czasie izolacji społecznej spowodowanej pandemią COVID-19 i związanej z nią zdalnej edukacji. Relacje te przedstawione są z perspektywy nauczycieli i rodziców na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonych badań, zawartych w opublikowanych raportach i wypowiedzi prasowych podmiotów edukacyjnych. W oparciu o nie ukazana została wartość powiązań i zależności składająca się na akceptowaną i oczekiwaną relacyjność nauczycieli i rodziców. Zaproponowano również działania, jakie należałoby podjąć w celu stworzenia nowego modelu omawianych relacji. Materiały i metoda. Przegląd i analiza literatury przedmiotu, wtórna analiza danych. Wyniki. Artykuł prezentuje problematykę relacji społecznych nauczycieli z rodzicami w czasie pandemii COVID-19, które nabrały nowego znaczenia w odniesieniu do sytuacji zdalnego nauczania. Specyfika tych relacji została przedstawiona z perspektywy nauczycielskiej i rodzicielskiej. W analizowanych wynikach badań i wypowiedziach zwraca uwagę konfrontacyjna postawa rodziców i nauczycieli. Omówione zostały zarówno niekorzystne elementy zaburzonych relacji i braku zrozumienia, jak i obszary i sposoby ich usprawnień.
Aim. The article shows an analysis of teacher-parent social relations at a time of social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and consequently the resultant distance learning. The relations are shown from teachers’ and parents’ perspectives based on the result of the studies included in the published reports and press publications of educational institutions. The author shows the value of the relations between parents and teachers and proposes actions that should be taken to create a new type of relationship. Materials and methods. Review and analysis of the literature on the subject, secondary data analysis. Results. The article presents the issues of social relations between teachers and parents during the COVID-19 pandemic, which have acquired a new meaning in relation to the distance learning situation. The specifi city of these relationships was presented from the teaching and parental perspectives. In the analyzed research results and statements, the confrontational attitude of parents and teachers attracts attention. The unfavorable elements of disturbed relations and lack of understanding, as well as areas and ways of their improvement, were discussed.
