Opis:
Along with the growing dynamics of technological changes in production in the perspective of the development of 4.0 industry, there are changes in the structure of employment and professional qualifications of employees. The development of cyber-physical production systems (CPPS) entails an increase in the demand for engineers. Industry 4.0 is a new megatrend in production. In the second decade of this century, the concept of Industry 4.0 gained importance thanks to the policy of the German government and gradually penetrated into other countries. Enterprises, in addition to traditional production organization, started realizing of cyberphysical production lines as well as smart factories. New production solutions based on IT and robotics technologies using IoT the need for new employee competencies. On the market there is still a growing demand for IT specialists, and there is a demand for engineers 4.0, that is employees with new technical competences, able to control and service CPPS.This publication attempts to present the scope of changes in employment and presents the profile of professional qualifications of engineer 4.0 in a metallurgical enterprise. The list of new skills for an engineer 4.0 employed in an metallurgical enterprise is presented in this article by authors.

Opis:
Over the last few years, the Industry 4.0 concept (called the Fourth Industrial Revolution) has attracted attention among both academics and practitioners. Industry 4.0 is a very broad domain including production processes, efficiency, data management, relationship with consumers, competitiveness, and much more. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to present new factory archetypes. The manuscript uses a synthesis of literature (scientific studies and industrial reports). Based on the results obtained, the archetypes of factories of Industry 4.0 are described. The presented manuscript contributes to the development of literature on the concept of Industry 4.0. The results obtained from the analysis of the literature not only summarize the existing knowledge about Smart Factories, but also indicate the directions of potential research.

Opis:
Purpose: The main purpose of this paper was to present the possibilities of integration of IT systems supporting the management of a production company on the strategic, tactical and operational level. Design/methodology/approach: The paper discusses the definition of the concept of systems integration and reviews the existing methods of integration at the level of data and processes. Activities that contribute to the ordering of data sets and increasing the effectiveness of infor-mation use are also presented. Findings: This paper presents a case of vertical integration of systems. The strategic level of management was represented by the ERP class system, the tactical level was supported by the MES system, while on the executive (operational) level the author used the SCADA system. Functional connections of ERP-MES-SCADA systems were discussed and conditions and requirements related to their integration were presented. Moreover, problems related to data exchange were described. Research limitations/implications: The author of the paper pointed out that the requirements related to the frequency and scope of data synchronization are an extremely important element of the process of designing communication systems integrating industrial automation devices with database IT systems. It is also necessary to grant access rights to the integration mechanisms in order to modify or audit them. Moreover, the effectiveness of the solution is affected by the changes introduced in the engines of the integrated databases, as they often cause the need to modify the integration mechanism, while the use of dedicated solutions is associated with the risk of high maintenance costs. Practical implications: The paper indicates that the integration of systems is particularly important for manufacturing companies. It provides a platform for cooperation between internal units, enabling ongoing monitoring of manufacturing processes, and predisposes the organization to engage in integrated supply chains, resulting in an increase in the scope of cooperation and the scope of the company’s activity. Originality/value: Undoubtedly, an original element of the paper is the presentation of data exchange schemes between ERP-MES and MES-SCADA systems.

Opis:
The world is on the brink of the fourth industrial revolution. The scope and depth of changes comprised by this revolution call for an analysis of its financing model, covering financing of both complex transformation of manufacturing processes in so-called smart factories and the development of technological innovations necessary to build and run such factories. The present article analyzes relative advantages of the banking sector and capital markets as sources of finance for the fourth industrial revolution. It is found that capital markets have a distinct advantage over the banking sector in this context; nevertheless, they will have to face significant challenges.

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to illustrate how the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR), which came into force in 2018 in Polish legal system, affects protection in the scope of collection, processing, storage and transfer of personal data in IT systems supporting production. Design/methodology/ approach: Because production control systems are based on the identification and analysis of human and machine resources behaviour, a significant impact of recent legal regulations on automation of manufacturing processes is perceived. However, according to GDPR, the data enabling unambiguous identification are protected. Findings: Resource recognition is not only important for the scheduling of production activities, but also for event logging. Research limitations/implications: It should be noted that both the allocation of human resources, taking into account the boundary conditions for the execution of tasks and the substitutability of individual employees, as well as reporting the efficiency and effectiveness of production, requires the unambiguous identification of people. It is carried out by means of one or several factors that physically, mentally, economically or socially describe the resource. Practical implications: Since the coordination of the company's production activities requires the processing of data describing human resources, taking into account the aspect of their security, it is necessary to create a new business model, which is the subject of research presen-ted in this document. Originality/value: Ensuring the security of data in the IT system, in addition to user authentication to resources, means also protection against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, modification, unauthorized disclosure or unauthorized access to personal data sent, stored or otherwise processed. When making decisions about the application of certain security measures, it is necessary to take into account the value of the data and the effects that the infringement may cause.
