Opis:
A general proposition of an energy-based limit condition for anisotropic materials exhibiting strength-differential effect (SDE) based on spectral decomposition of elasticity tensors and the use of scaling pressure-dependent functions is specified for the case of orthotropic materials. A detailed algorithm (based on classical solutions of cubic equations) for the determination of elastic eigenstates and eigenvalues of the orthotropic stiffness tensor is presented. A yield condition is formulated for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases. Explicit formulas based on simple strength tests are derived for parameters of criterion in the plane case. The application of both criteria for the description of yielding and plastic deformation of metal sheets is discussed in detail. The plane case criterion is verified with experimental results from the literature.

Opis:
Profile deck steel sheets are used in composite deck slabs. These sheets are standard in dimensions and shapes besides they are supplied with embossments and indentations. Such sheets are not available in Iraqi markets nowadays therefore people used another type of sheets which are corrugated without embossments or indentations in very wide range. This study covers the use of such sheets in composite slabs as decks instead of standard profiled steel sheets. The study comprises testing slabs of dimensions 0.9 × 2.5 m reinforced by steel fabric mesh and rested on corrugated sheets. Two types of shear spans are selected shorter and longer to study the longitudinal shear force transmitted due to the applied loads according to the Eurocode 4. The shorter shear spans are 600, 500 and 400 mm while longer one is 800, 750 and 700 mm. The study extended to support the requirements of design equation of the Eurocode by shear bond method also known as m–k method. The evaluated values of m and k are 0.094 and 65 respectively. The result of k which plays a very important role in shear transfer is small compared to what available in literature, therefore it is recommended to make use of shear connectors in such construction or any else method.

This paper presents an experimental study on resistance spot welding of SPA-H weathering steel sheets used in side wall and roof application of rail vehicle bodies. SPA-H steel sheets having 2.3 mm thicknesses were joined by using resistance spot welding as lap joint. A timer and current controlled resistance spot welding machine having 120 kVA capacity and a pneumatic application mechanism with a single lever was used to prepare the specimens. Welding periods were chosen as 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 periods (1 period =0.02 s) and also welding currents were increased from 6 kA up to 11 kA by rise of 0.5 kA. The electrode force was kept constant at 4 kN. The prepared welding specimens were exposed to tensile-peel test and the obtained results were supported by diagrams and, finally, appropriate welding current and time were advised to the users.

The following paper analyses selected problems regarding the impact of technological parameters and the type of adherend material on the strength of adhesive-bonded steel sheet joints. The subject of the test was a single-lap adhesive joint of S235JR steel sheet. Joints were formed on two types of substrates: with or without corrosion products on the surface. The surface of steel sheet adherends was pre-treated with three cleaning solutions: acetone, Wiko industrial degreasing agent and Cortanin F anti-corrosion agent, depending on the state of the surface. Adhesive joints were formed with Epidian 53/ET/100:15 epoxy adhesive. The formed joints were subjected to one of three ageing variants: 14 days, two months and 3 months, which were followed by destructive testing to determine the shear strength of joints. The analysis of results obtained in the tests indicates that the strength performance of adhesive joints of corrosion-free adherends was characterised by higher values than in corroded steel sheets, regardless of ageing time.

The paper presents the results of theoretical analysis and experimental research on the material’s influence and tool geometry on the welding speed and mechanical strength of Al 2024 thin sheet metal joints. To make the joints, tungsten carbide and ceramics tools with a smooth and modified surface of the shoulder were used. The choice of the geometrical parameters of the tool was adjusted to the thickness of the joined sheet. During welding, the values of axial and radial force were recorded to determine the stability of the process. The quality of the joint was examined and evaluated on the basis of visual analysis of the surface and cross-sections of the joint area and the parent material, and subjected to mechanical strength tests. The test results indicate that both the geometry of the tool shoulder and the tool material have a decisive influence on the quality of the joint and the welding speed, making it possible to shorten the duration of the entire process.

Faced with the financial crisis in 2008, the central banks used conventional monetary policy instruments. However, the problem of zero lower bond forced them to use unconventional monetary policy instruments - quantitative easing carried out as part of the so-called central bank balance sheet politics and relying on the buying by the central bank of di&erent kinds of financial assets - resulting in stabilization of the situation on financial markets in conditions of low long-term interest rates. Balance sheet totals of the central banks rose repeatedly. Their structure also changed. At present possible effects for the stability of the financial system of the return to the pre-crisis monetary policy are the topic of debate. The exit strategy is giving rise to a significant risks and the coordination of economic policy and the transparency of action taken by monetary authorities can only minimize possible negative effects

The analysis of the contemporary accounting thought indicates its clear focus on decision-making processes. A statistical concept of accounting is systematically superseded by procpective accounting. Such a change in directive thinking in accounting results from promoting economic interests of investors who search for attractive methods of obtaining returns on financial capital. This article proves that a historical cost principle that is being limited in accounting has not lost its up-to datedness. On the contrary, the principle in question provides some grounds for the systematic nature of accounting, which guarantees more objective understanding of capital flows and supports control of economic resources. The historical cost principle involves the theory of values - a key category of any market economy. For the time being, this theory has not been rejected in the current theories of economics. Involving the right of value in a measuring system of accounting allows for dynamic treatment of economic processes as well. This is a question of determining an up to date contents of the right in question and suggesting adequate structural method to present the value. The dynamic process has to be included within the framework of other (contemporary) category perception of the value - not outside the framework. Generalny, this paper is supposed the idea of a historical cost.

In this contribution there have been evaluated properties of four types of sheets made from aluminium alloys. In the case of each of the examined sheets there has been checked its shearing ability via the influence of punch-die clearance change on the quality of blanking edge. Quality of blanking edge is characterized by a ratio of plastic zone height to the total thickness of the sheared material. Formability during the drawing process was measured with earring test. Results are presented by the earring coefficient (unequal height) of the cups.

The Goss texture is a characteristic feature of grain-oriented transformer steel sheets. Generator sheets, which are produced as non-oriented steel sheets, should have isotropic features. However, measurement results of generator sheets, confirmed by crystallographic studies, indicate that these sheets are characterized by certain, quite significant anisotropy. The first purpose of this paper is to present the influence of textures of generator and transformer steel sheets on their magnetization characteristics. The second aim is to propose a method which takes into account the sheet textures in the calculations of magnetization curves. In calculations of magnetization processes in electrical steel sheets, models in which the plane of a sheet sample is divided into an assumed number of specified directions are used. To each direction a certain hysteresis loop, the so-called direction hysteresis, is assigned. The parameters of these direction hystereses depend, among other things, on the texture type in these steel sheets. This paper discusses the method which calculates the parameters of these direction hystereses taking into account the given sheet texture. The proposed method gives a possibility of determining the magnetization characteristics for any direction of the field intensity changes.

The chemical composition of the Cretaceous deposits of the Grajcarek thrust-sheets (Pieniny Klippen Belt, Poland) has been investigated to provide information on palaeoenvironment and provenance of pelagic and turbiditic particles. The material studied shows large variations in terrigenous and biogenic content. Phyllosilicates (mirrored in amounts of Al2O3, average 15 wt.%) and carbonates (6 wt.% of CaO) are common mineral components of the deposits excluding the Cenomanian radiolarian shales (CRS) that are enriched in silica "Immobile" elements may be accommodated by phyllosilicates and accessory minerals (i.e. zircon, xenotime, apatite and Ti-oxides). Heavy minerals are significant within the Szlachtowa Fm. High field strength elements (HFSE) in the Malinowa Fm. are housed in secondary apatite and Fe-oxides. Lithophile trace elements (LILE) concentrations in the material studied are lower/comparable to Post-Archean Australian Shale (PAAS). Ba concentration in the CRS probably reflects enhanced bioproductivity. Interaction between major oxides, distributions of "immobile' and lithophile elements suggest that variation in trace elements through the succession was mainly controlled by the terrigenous input. The material studied was sourced from intermediate to felsic rocks of the Czorsztyn (Oravic) Ridge. The Szlachtowa Fm. and CRS are more mature than others due to low contents of clay minerals. The Szlachtowa Fm. also contains recycled material. The CRS correspond to the oceanic anoxic event 2 (OAE 2) whereas the "Black Flysch" of the Szlachtowa and Opaleniec formations may be related to the Early Cretaceous OAE 1

Opis:
Poetry written for display in 3D digital space presents challenges for blind or visually impaired readers. One approach to making 3D poetry more accessible is to design real-world 3D models of the poetry lines so they can be touched and made audio responsive. The unpredicted effect of making talking tactile poetry models is that they now can be viewed as works of mixed medium art. Some of them have even been accepted into juried tactile art shows, which are becoming more common in national and international art centers, museums, and art galleries. This report explains how 3D laser cutting technology is used to make audio-responsive 3D poetry mixed medium art pieces highlighted by a “Best in Show” award at a national art show in October 2019 for a piece titled “Ferris Haiku”. It is of interest to note that making 3D poetry accessible can also lead to a tactile mixed medium art piece.

Celem artykułu jest analiza wpływu topografii powierzchni blach stalowych po obróbce powierzchnio-ściernej na ich właściwości technologiczne. Topografię powierzchni wyznaczono z zastosowaniem pomiarów chropowatości 3D. W wyniku analizy właściwości technologicznych blach stwierdzono, że zastosowana obróbka spowodowała zmianę tłoczności blach, wyznaczonej metodami Erichsena i Swifta.
The purpose of the paper was to analyse the effect of the type of vapour blasting on technological properties of steel sheets. As a result of the analysis of technological properties of sheets it was found that the application of various types of vapour blasting resulted in a significant change in drawability of sheets, as determined by Erichsen and Swift methods.

Przedstawiono i skomentowano wymagania rozporządzenia REACH odnoszące się do rejestracji wstępnej oraz procedury jej realizacji.
The article presents information and comments on selected and most relevant provisions of the REACH regulation as well as a time-table for an implementation of the main provisions of REACH. Also discussed are the procedures and requirements, important for the current implementation stage of REACH regulation, concerning the new format of Safety Data Sheets and the pre-registration of substances. The article presents and discusses requirements related to pre-registration and related procedures.

Ukosowanie blach tradycyjnie jest wykonywane ręcznie, za pomocą tzw. sekatorów. Tak realizowany proces jest pracochłonny, a jego efekt często nie jest zadowalający pod względem jakości. Proces ukosowania ręcznego stwarza ponadto bardzo niebezpieczne warunki pracy. Te mankamenty nie występują w zrobotyzowanych stanowiskach ukosowania. W artykule przedstawiono techniczne, organizacyjne i ekonomiczne aspekty robotyzacji ukosowania blach z zastosowaniem technologii cięcia plazmowego. Wykorzystano doświadczenia z wdrożenia w TAGOR S.A. zrobotyzowanego stanowiska ukosowania opracowanego przez zespół aplikacyjny PIAP przy udziale specjalistów z TAGOR. Opisane stanowisko jest eksploatowane w zakładzie od blisko dwóch lat.
Traditionally, metal sheets bevelling has been performed manually. It is a very laborious process, whose effects are often not satisfactory in terms of quality. Moreover, manual bevelling is performed in highly hazardous work environment. Robotized cells eliminate all such disadvantages. The economic, organizational and technical aspects of the robotised metal sheets bevelling with of plasma cutting are presented in the paper. Authors have utilised the experiences from preparation and application of robotized cell for metal sheets bevelling by plasma cutting. It was first developed through the joint effort of PIAP's design & implementation team with the help of specialists from TAGOR S.A. In this factory the cell was installed and is exploited since two years.

W pracy przedstawiono sposób modelowania cięcia pakietów blach z uwzględnieniem nieliniowości występujących w tym procesie. Proces cięcia rozpatrzono jako geometrycznie i fizycznie nieliniowe zagadnienie brzegowo – początkowe. Procedura została zaimplementowana do środowiska ANSYS/Ls-Dyna i wykorzystana do analizy stanów naprężeń, odkształceń, deformacji materiału w procesie cięcia pakietów blach na gilotynie.
In this study the modeling of bundles of sheets cutting regarding process nonlinearities was presented. The cutting process was considered as initial and boundary problem. The procedure was implemented in the finite element code ANSYS/Ls-Dyna and used to calculate the states of stresses, strains, material deformation in bundles of sheets cutting on guillotine.
