Opis:
The problem of providing support for quality of service (QoS) guarantees is studied in many areas of information technologies. In recent years the evolution of software architectures led to the rising prominence of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concept. For Web-based systems there are three attributes that directly relate to everyday perception of the QoS for the end user: availability, usability, and performance. The paper focuses on performance issues of service delivery. The architecture of Virtual Service Delivery System (VSDS), a tool to serve requests for synchronized services is presented. It is proposed suitable monitoring technique used for estimation of values of service parameters and allocation of communication and execution resources by means of service distribution. The paper also presents results of experiments performed in real environment that show effectiveness of proposed solutions.

Cloud Computing offers the avant-garde services at a stretch that are too attractive for any cloud user to ignore. With its growing application and popularization, IT companies are rapidly deploying distributed data centers globally, posing numerous challenges in terms of scheduling of resources under different administrative domains. This perspective brings out certain vital factors for efficient scheduling of resources providing a wide genre of characteristics, diversity in context of level of service agreements and that too with user-contingent elasticity. In this paper, a comprehensive survey of research related to various aspects of cloud resource scheduling is provided. A comparative analysis of various resource scheduling techniques focusing on key performance parameters like Energy efficiency, Virtual Machine allocation and migration, Cost-effectiveness and Service-Level Agreement is also presented.

The paper describes the quality analysis of web services implemented in virtualised environment. It takes into account the reliability and performance aspects of software and hardware elements of the web service. The presented state-transitional model considers the reconfiguration process to maintain the continuity of business services. The reconfiguration is based in on the redeployment of virtual machines so for some time the system operates in a degraded state. Author propose two quality measures based on the web service availability and maximum handled requests calculated at each of degradation levels. Moreover, authors proposed to model the web service reliability parameters by fuzzy numbers. A method for calculating fuzzy membership functions of quality measures are also presented.

Opis:
Virtualization of physical network devices is a relatively new technology, that allows to improve the network organization and gives new possibilities for Software Defined Networking (SDN). Network virtualization is also commonly used for testing and debugging environments, before implementing new designs in production networks. Important aspect of network virtualization is selecting virtual platform and technology, that offer maximal performance with minimal physical resource utilization. This article presents a comparative analysis of performance of the virtual network created by the virtual CSR1000v and virtual machines running Windows 8.1 on two different virtual private cloud platforms: VMware vSphere 5.5 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 R2. In such prepared testbed we study the response time (delay) and throughput of virtual network devices.
