Opis:: The demand for ubiquitous and efficient information delivery is increasing rapidly, as the majority of access to professional data, information and knowledge is increasingly relying on the use of technology. Mobile workers become more efficient, if equipped with access means similarly powerful to stationary workplaces. All types of work exhibiting inherently nomadic characteristics are even more affected by these developments. Healthcare personnel in a clinical environment are definitely one of the typical examples, where the access of information is vital and bound to location. Additionally the information needs to be processed in very short periods of time. For this purpose it is of great advantage to deploy advanced information visualization technologies in order to communicate larger amounts of data in a shorter period of time. In this work, we present an IT platform, which emerged from applications in the cultural heritage domain, that can be used to deliver context-aware services and advanced visualization of information to medical personnel in a clinical environment. The location combined with usage profiles for each member of the stuff are used to make the decision about the type and amount of information as well as the visualization type delivered to the handheld devices. Along with the description of the platform and its components, two application examples/medical use cases are presented.

Opis:: The purpose of the article is to present the current state of development of on-line services in retail banking and to discuss their future development. It covers a high level analysis of functional morphology of on-line banking in view of historical banking channel development. The final study provides a view on key strategies that can be used in the future to foster further development of on-line business models. The strategies are divided into organic growth, partnerships/intermediation and accelerated growth. Concluding remarks point out the leading role of banks in the digitalization of economic systems and support for e-government. They also emphasize the potential for further development of on-line banking towards universal service platforms which provide a secure environment for execution of auditable business transactions between known parties.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie obecnego stanu rozwoju usług on-line w bankowości detalicznej oraz dyskusja ich dalszego rozwoju. Artykuł obejmuje ogólną analizę morfologii funkcjonalnej bankowości on-line w kontekście historycznego rozwoju kanałów w bankowości. Strategie podzielone są na wzrost organiczny, partnerstwo/pośrednictwo oraz przyśpieszony wzrost. W zakończeniu jest wskazana wiodąca rola banków w digitalizacji systemu ekonomicznego oraz wsparcia usług e-administracji (e-government). Podkreślono również potencjał do dalszego rozwoju bankowości on-line w kierunku uniwersalnych platform usługowych, które zapewniają bezpieczne środowisko do realizowania audytowalnych transakcji biznesowych pomiędzy znanymi stronami.

Opis:: The progressing convergence of television and Internet services has caused a dynamic development of the audiovisual market. The decision to regulate the subject matter of video-sharing platforms (VSPs) in the amended Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) was dictated by recognition that such platforms compete for the same viewers and incomes as other audiovisual media services. Coordination of legislation on the European level led to the necessity to introduce amendments to Polish law. The main purpose of this article is to present selected provisions of AVMSD and Poland’s Broadcasting Act concerning VSPs as an area of media policy, which previously had fallen outside the scope of institutional intervention and regulatory restrictions relating to the traditional media market. The central question that author attempted to resolve was whether measures used in relation to VSP providers are legitimate, necessary and proportional. The study explains the definition of video delivery services which is fundamental from the point of view of imposing some obligations on these types of services.

Opis:: Virtualization of physical network devices is a relatively new technology, that allows to improve the network organization and gives new possibilities for Software Defined Networking (SDN). Network virtualization is also commonly used for testing and debugging environments, before implementing new designs in production networks. Important aspect of network virtualization is selecting virtual platform and technology, that offer maximal performance with minimal physical resource utilization. This article presents a comparative analysis of performance of the virtual network created by the virtual CSR1000v and virtual machines running Windows 8.1 on two different virtual private cloud platforms: VMware vSphere 5.5 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 R2. In such prepared testbed we study the response time (delay) and throughput of virtual network devices.
