    The social activity of young people is essential for the development of their participation in the social life. It’s conditioned, inter alia, by educational measures directed at stimulating the behaviour of the young people, strengthening their sense of consciousness and responsible influence on the environment. The article presents a deeper insight into the mutual dependence between the individual’s sense of agency (and thus the subject’s belief in his/her ability to influence the reality) and his social activity (understood as the readiness to act for the benefit of others). They are not meaningless for building the social capital of the young generation, which in the near future will be responsible for the fate of the world. One of the analytic categories used to consider the presented issues is the construct of pro-development orientation, the constructive features of which include both trust in others and the world, as well as a sense of agency.

    Политологическая конвенция, основанная на том, чтобы называть участием только активное включение граждан, работников, жителей в решение общественных вопросов и оказания на них влияния – слишком узкое понимание. Адекватное понимание участия относится также к объективной принадлежности и социальной связи. Пассивность также является участием, хотя и особенной формы. Чувство участия имеет разнообразное значение. Это моет быть парадоксальным – чувство исключения, неучастия либо чувство отчужденности, или же наоборот – чувство идентификации, удовлетворения, мотивации к активности, чувство общей ответственности, возможно также чувство амбивалентности.
    The political science convention of using “participation” to describe only active involvement in deciding public matters and exerting influence by citizens, employees or residents is too narrow. An adequate understanding of “participation” should be based on objective belonging to the social community. Passivity can also be a peculiar form of participation. The sense of participation has many faces. This can be – paradoxically – the feeling of exclusion, of non-participation or alienation, or, on the contrary, the identification, satisfaction, motivation for activity, shared responsibility. Finally, an individual’s sense of participation may combine both of these components.

    The process of identity formation during the transition from adolescence into adulthood and its determinants are currently a central issue in the social sciences. On the one hand, the huge variety of possibilities presents the opportunity to expand the fields of exploration and to tailor commitments to individual aspirations and preferences. On the other hand, increasing instability and Bauman’s liquidity of the social environment of development may create threats that impede the making of decisions, engaging in their realization, and identifying with the choices made. James Marcia’s two-stage model of identity formation no longer adequately describes and accounts for paths of identity development. The dynamic dual-cycle model of identity formation developed by Koen Luyckx and collaborators is much more accurate. Although identity continues to develop throughout course of life, childhood, and adolescence in particular, seems to be pivotal from the point of view of which developmental trajectory the individual is on at the moment of his/her entry into adulthood. From this point of view, the factors which we regard as crucial for identity formation are shame proneness and shame regulation strategies on the one hand, and the system of personal beliefs about one’s life and related key social experiences which define the quality of social participation of adolescents on the other hand.

    Opis:
    Community is a conceptual category that originated from social sciences. However, from the cognitive and analytical point of view no universal definition of the term is available. Problems arise with respect to the definition framework of the category and ambiguity of theoretical concepts regarding the function and substantial state of community. Ideologically, it is frequently perceived as a desirable state, which makes an axiologically neutral analysis rather difficult. Studies of the National Centre for Culture Poland show that sense of community is one of the reasons why Poles celebrate their Independence Day. The article discusses the idea of community attitudes based on David B. Clark’s analysis and the results of the 2016 and 2017 surveys of Poles’ attitudes to and opinions on this holiday.

    Opis:
    Kryzys klasycznego humanizmu jest faktem. Ujawnił bowiem on swój ciemny rewers. Są nim niewolnictwo, kolonializm, wyzysk,  wykluczenia, dyskryminacje. Humanizm okazał się być dzieckiem patriarchalizmu, szowinizmu płciowego i gatunkowego. Trzeba go więc przezwyciężyć. Jedną z propozycji jest posthumanizm. Opiera się on na odmiennej metodzie badawczej (nazywam ją tu „zmysłem udziału”), odmiennej koncepcji podmiotu (nomada) i nowej etyce, której kształt dopiero powstaje. W artykule wskazuję na jej fundamenty w postaci kobiecej etyki troski, która – w moim przekonaniu - otwiera horyzonty na bardziej holistyczne, egalitarne, spluralizowane ludzko-pozaludzkie istnienie. 
    The crisis of classical humanism is a fact. It has revealed its dark reverse. They are slavery, colonialism, exploitation, exclusion, discrimination. Humanism turned out to be the offspring of patriarchalism, gender chauvinism and speciesism. Therefore, it has to be overcome. One of the proposals is posthumanism. It is based on a different research method (I call it the “sense of participation”), a different concept of the subject (nomad) and a new ethics, the shape of which is still emerging. In the article, I point to its foundations in the form of a female ethics of care, which – in my opinion – opens the horizons to a more holistic, egalitarian, pluralized human–non-human existence.

    The article examines the Phalène or Poetic Act, a mode of poetry as collective action formulated by the poet Godofredo Iommi. The authors analyse how the Phalène opened a creative heritage from the early experiences carried out by Iommi in Europe during the 1960s to the current poetic endeavours of the School of Architecture and Design PUCV in Valparaíso, Chile. Through analysing the Phalène, the article provides new perspectives on the relationship between poetry and urban space. About this relationship, the authors propose the Phalène as a poetic act of placemaking in which the ephemeral presence of the uttered word unleashes ludic interactions in the participants provoking the construction of commonality and the resignification of the place.

    The sense of community is recognised as a key category favouring the development of local communities, conducive to the growth of social activity, supporting the activation of internal resources of the group in the field of solving social problems. The main goal of the article is to show the possibility of using the assumptions of the theory of community-relatedness in pedagogical research. The author indicates how much and to what extent the sense of community is complementing the area of research of contemporary local environments. The analysis of research on the sense of community conducted by American and European researchers determines possible areas and directions of research with particular emphasis on social participation in the local space.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest omówienie problematyki zależności pomiędzy poczuciem podmiotowości i partycypacji a funkcjonowaniem zespołu w organizacji. Poprzez analizę literatu-ry i badań autorka prezentuje, w jaki sposób zwiększenie poczucia podmiotowości i partycypacji pracowników w sprawach dotyczących organizacji, może wpływać na wzrost odpowiedzialności i integralności tworzonego przez nich teamu, co w efekcie przekładać się będzie na jakość uzyska-nego wyniku oraz zintegrowanie rozwoju organizacji i pracowników. Każdy zespół pracujących razem ludzi podlega określonym etapom rozwoju oraz tendencjom, które wpływają na jego spój-ność i efektywność, a takie zarządzanie, które oprócz wydajności, zwiększa również jego integral-ność i odpowiedzialność jest celem wielu managerów. Jednym ze sposobów zarządzania, który temu sprzyja jest zarządzanie przez partycypację. Kładąc nacisk na podmiotowość pracownika, jego sprawczość i zdolność do działania, a nie tylko reagowania, wzmacnia ono zaangażowanie i gotowość do dojrzałej współpracy. Pozwala też zmniejszyć prawdopodobieństwo wystąpienia negatywnych skutków pracy zespołowej, takich jak np. myślenie grupowe. Stylem zarządzania, który już w swoim założeniu kładzie nacisk na podmiotowość jest Total Participation Management, które-go celem jest zbudowanie organizacji, której systemy będą pozwalały pracownikowi na pełne uczest-nictwo we wszystkich aspektach jej działalności. Jest to styl bardzo wymagający zarówno w odnie-sieniu do szeregowych pracowników, jak i do kadry managerskiej, jednak organizacje tak zarządzane często uzyskują przewagę konkurencyjną w zakresie wyników finansowych, a także w zakresie bycia atrakcyjnym miejscem pracy, przyciągającym specjalistów, wspierających potencjał firmy.
    The paper aims to discuss the issue of the relation between an employee’s sense of participa-tion and effectiveness of their team. The author shows how strengthening the sense of subjectivity of employees, and increasing their participation in tasks and goals of an organization, can promote the growth of responsibility and integrity of the group in which they cooperate; this in turn will influence the quality of results and also integrate the development of the organization and that of the employees. Any group is governed by certain stages of group development and by tendencies that affect consistency and efficiency. Many managers have as their goal the type of management that – in addition to efficiency – assists the growth of integrity and responsibility. Participative management can provide the solution. Stressing the importance of the worker’s subjectivity, his efficacy and ability to act rather than simply react, reinforces his involvement and willingness and thus leads to fully-fledged cooperation. It also helps minimize the chances of adverse effects oc-curring in teamwork, for instance in group thinking or diffusion of responsibility. The management style whose concept emphasizes the subjectivity of employees is called Total Participation Man-agement. However, it is a very challenging style for regular employees as well as for managers. Nevertheless, organizations managed this way are frequently more competitive in terms of finan-cial results as well as in terms of attractiveness for employees by creating a place which attracts experts who support the organizations’ potential.

    Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba wykazania korelacji między poczuciem sprawczości wyborczej a partycypacją wyborczą na Pomorzu Zachodnim. Badania dotyczące tej zależności przeprowadzono na przykładzie trzech miast na prawach powiatu – Koszalina, Szczecina i Świnoujścia – a wyniki zestawiono z danymi z powiatów ziemskich. Artykuł pokazuje zmiany w partycypacji wyborczej w wyborach do Parlamentu Europejskiego w latach 2004–2014. Wyniki zostały zestawione z wynikami wyborów samorządowych przypadających w latach 2006–2014. Podjęto próbę znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytania o to, czy poziom partycypacji wyborczej w wyborach do europarlamentu odzwierciedla przybliżoną liczbę osób regularnie biorących udział w pozostałych wyborach oraz czy udział w wyborach może świadczyć o subiektywnym interesie jednostki.
    The aim of this study is to show the existence of a correlation between the sense of voter electoral agency and electoral participation in Western Pomerania. For the purposes of this article, cities with poviat rights were analyzed: Koszalin; Szczecin and Świnoujście and juxtaposed with land poviats. The article presents changes in electoral participation in elections to the European Parliament in 2004-2014. The results were compared with the results of local elections in 2006-2014. An attempt was made to find an answer: is the level of electoral participation in the elections to the actual number of people constantly attending in the election? Can participation in the election testify to the subjective interest of the individual?
