Opis:: Educating young software engineers and IT experts is a great challenge nowadays. Still new technologies are used in a practical approach and many of them come from formal methods. To help future software experts in the understanding of formal methods grounded in semantics, learning software that illustrates and visualizes important techniques seems to be very fruitful. In this paper, we present software, which handles the arithmetic and Boolean expressions, their analysis, evaluation, drawing the syntax tree and the other techniques with the expressions. This software is devoted as a teaching tool for teachers when explaining appropriate theory and for students for self-studying and making their own experiments. Furthermore, this software is an integral part of our software package for several semantic methods.

Opis:: By way of this article the author seeks to construe epistemological semantics. To this end the author presents his arguments in several aspects as regards a) concepts, b) terms, c) subject matter, d) methods and e) analysis of expressions excerpted from texts. The author’s concept is based on hypotheses employed in anthropocentric linguistics and frame semantics. One of the building blocks of epistemological semantics is constituted by so called epistemic formants of knowledge, understood as the foundation of epistemic experience, as the base for the frames of epistemic knowledge, and hence also as the framework for the constitution of meanings and expressions formed by an individual. As important seem a strict delimitation of the subject area of epistemological semantics and the defining of resultant tasks to be undertaken by linguists. It transpires that both the subject area and the resultant tasks have up till now been restricted almost exclusively to ‘meaning’, without clear reference to the underlying cognitive acts. Methods of the work are rooted in idiocentric (individual) and polycentric (common) approaches known in linguistics. The results of the empirical analysis have been presented and exemplified by a selected specialised neologism from the field of music of Ancient Greece.

Opis:: A linguist who studies historical languages, such as Latin, through synchronous perspective, meets one important problem - the lack of knowledge of language conventions. Basically, it is difficult to research by the lack of the ability to create your own sentences by intuition, and thus the inability to verify their hypotheses through semantic tests. As a result, he is convicted on contextual research. In this chapter, I propose a way of defining words and phrases in the historical languages. To do this, I arrange a semantic analysis of the Latin word pius. This term made many definitional problems for the authors of dictionaries and translators, above all, by the presence in a variety of contexts. As a result, the assumed existence of several equally-looking expressions was suggested. I explicates pius, assuming a theory of reductionist semantics, extended to my demands, for example verifying linguistic data with cultural data.
Językoznawca zajmujący się badaniem z perspektywy synchronicznej języków historycznych, np. języka łacińskiego, natyka się na jeden znaczący problem – brak znajomości konwencji językowych. Zasadniczo utrudnia mu to prowadzenie badań przez brak możliwości tworzenia własnych zdań dzięki intuicji i tym samym przez niemożność weryfikowania swoich hipotez dzięki zasadzie sprzeczności. W efekcie tego skazany jest on na badania kontekstowe. W niniejszym artykule proponuję sposób definiowania słów i wyrażeń w językach historycznych. Do tego celu służy mi analiza semantyczna łacińskiego słowa pius. Wyraz ten nastręczał wielu problemów definicyjnych autorom słowników i tłumaczom, przede wszystkim przez występowanie w różnorodnych kontekstach. W efekcie tego zakładano a priori istnienie kilku tak samo wyglądających jednostek leksykograficznych. Przyjmując założenia semantyki redukcjonistycznej rozszerzone o swoje postulaty, m.in. weryfikowanie danych językowych z danymi ogólnokulturowymi, dokonuję eksplikacji wyrazu pius.
