    Opis:
    Next Generation Sequencing is a technology for genome sequencing used in genetics for the diagnosis of disease. NGS provides a list of all mutations in a genome, so identifying the one that causes a disease is not trivial. A number of applications for variant prioritization were developed, but the data they provide is a suggestion rather than a diagnosis; moreover, they sufer from issues such as identifying a nonpathogenic variant as a causal one or the inability to identify a causal gene. These issues inspired us to create a strategy for variant prioritization, which includes the use of the Exomiser and OMIM Explorer result sets improved by semantic analysis of abstracts and articles freely available from the PubMed and PubMed Central databases. For the wider scope of scientific articles, the Google Scholar repository will be used. The described approach enables us to present the latest and most accurate information about potential pathogenic variants.

    The present study in a way continues an earlier article by the present writer entitled “Problems in the integration of Anglo-French loanwords” (Diensberg 2011: 109–145). That article dealt with the phonological reception of Old French loanwords. It focussed on the structures vowel plus -ff, -fl, -ft, which are mostly due to borrowing from French (including Latin and Greek) and, occasionally, from other Germanic languages or dialects. Their position and ultimately their integration in the Middle English phonological system will be examined. The structures vowel plus -ff, -fl, -ft may be at most peripheral within native word stock (see Muthmann 2002: 64b; 107c–108c; 264c–265b). Here, loanwords of the structure -er + C- 4 -ar + C- are discussed.

    Determination of the Russian language character was the central question of the long scientific discussion. The work of F. P. Filin (1977), which finishes this discussion, establishes the Eastern- Slavic character of the Russian literary language, and the important role of the Russian folk speech in the formation of its national characteristics. This problem has a connection with the relationship between language and culture. The determination of the Eastern characteristics of the Russian folk culture is the central problem of the works of N. S. Troubetzkoy. He determined the area of the «Russian cultural zone», formed by the intensive contacts between the Russian people and the Finno-Ugric and Turkish population. Our study examins the vocabulary and derivation of the Russian folk speech, which in the opinion of the researchers reflected the important features of the characteristics of the national language.

    The author analises lexical and semantical archaisms, taken from Śpiewnik kościelny [Church Songbook] by reverend J. Siedlecki (see abbreviation Sdl). The words have been chosen on the basis of Słownik języka polskiego [Polish Language Dictionary] edited by W. Doroszewski (see abbreviation SJP). In the mentioned Dictionary words that appear in the songs and the words’ explanations are qualified as old-fashioned meaning that a contemporary Pole of average education would not understand them or archaic meaning known only to the eldest generation. The author takes into consideration words that are not mentioned in the Polish Language Dictionary, he also indicates if the word has been mentioned in Słownik języka polskiego [Polish Language Dictionary] edited by S. B. Linde (abbreviation L)
