The authors present the key aspects of establishing cooperation with people experiencing a mental health crisis, referred to in the literature as service users involvement (SUI); not only drawing attention to the theoretical context of the SUI approach, but also illustrating it with a practice developed in Gdynia social welfare, which is unique on a national scale. The aim of the study, which combines theoretical reflection and a description of a case study of the activity of the local community, is to draw attention to the participatory approach important for the identity of social workers, referred to as service users involvement (SUI). The source of the generalizations presented in the article is the authors' systematic reflection on mental health care-oriented practice.

Celem opracowania jest prezentacja działalności organizacji pozarządowej, promującej aktywność życiową i społeczną osób starszych, reprezentujących osiedlową społeczność lokalną. Aktywność ta została rozbudzona dzięki budowanej siłami społecznymi biznesu na tym terenie, spółdzielni socjalnej, zatrudniającej osoby bezrobotne i jednocześnie miejsca zaspokajającego podstawowe potrzeby życiowe (bytowe, zdrowotne, kulturowe) społeczności lokalnej. W tym przypadku organizacja pozarządowa zastąpiła zobowiązane do pomocy osobom starszym instytucje osiedlowe i instytucje pomocy społecznej a jej działania rozbudziły ideę samopomocy i integracji sąsiedzkiej mieszkańców osiedla mieszkaniowego.
The aim of this paper is to present the activities of non-governmental organization that sparks both daily living and social life of the elderly living in a housing estate community. The social cooperative in question was heavily supported by the social-oriented companies operating in the district. It employs the unemployed and at the same time supports the local community to meet its basic needs in the field of livelihood, health and culture. In this case the non-governmental organization fulfills the responsibilities of both an housing estate and social welfare institutions in helping the elderly people in the district. The activities in turn triggered the idea of a self-help and supported the integration of the neighborhood residents of the housing estate.

This article is one of the first attempts to draw attention to the relatively new phenomenon of the Internet antiporn initiatives. These initiatives embody as websites and internet forums that gather Internet users who are negatively oriented towards pornography and often also masturbation, which in their opinion have destructive effects on many dimensions of life. However, the main aim of the article is not to describe the initiatives themselves, but to illustrate their recognition among Polish Internet users by using the virtual ethnography approach. In practice, this came down to the analysis of several online publications and several hundred comments of people involved or interested in the studied phenomenon. The publication also covers ethical and legal problems related to conducting Internet research on controversial topics.

Despite the growing popularity of men’s self-help products, recent debates surrounding hegemonic masculinity, and attention to the “crisis of masculinity,” research has ignored men’s advice about intimate relationships. Consequently, I examine 30 contemporary relationship advice books and conceptualize their constructions of heterosexual masculinity. Findings demonstrate authors’ overall rejection of hegemonic masculinity, alongside an overarching strategy of “masculinizing” intimacy that promotes two subsidiary gender strategies – relational heroism and tempered ambition – which reframe non-hegemonic behavior as manly. The overarching strategy appears in mild forms in books emphasizing “getting laid” and stronger variants in books that promote “growing close” through intimacy. The strategy promotes a promising departure from the constraints of hegemonic masculinity by broadening men’s acceptable range of talking about and doing masculinity, but continues to emphasize gender difference and enables a reconfiguration of heterosexual masculine intimacy within hegemonic masculinity, thereby limiting its promotion of gender equality.

Wojtyła przedstawia ową ideę w integracji osoby, poprzez doświadczenie rodzicielstwa duchowego przejawiającego się w solidarności z grupami i wspólnotami. W narracji K. Wojtyły rodzicielstwo duchowe jest postrzegane jako moralne wyzwanie. Idea rodzicielstwa duchowego przedstawiona w życiu i twórczości K. Wojtyły jest pomocą w dialogu ze światem. Może być praktycznym i realnym otwarciem drzwi Chrystusowi, wyzwoleniem dla najbiedniejszych i duchowo pogubionych braci i sióstr.
Karol Wojtyla’s main message of spiritual parenting was influenced by the great experiences of his life, his poetic and intellectual work. The origins of the idea of spiritual parenting are evident in his poetry and drama. However, it is in his intellectual work that the idea of spiritual parenting has been fully developed. The most important works were: Love and Responsibility and Person and Deed. Karol Wojtyla’s book Love and Responsibility combines the idea of spiritual parenting with the “selfless gift of self,” which is the essence of this idea. In the book Person and Deed, Wojtyla presents this idea in the integration of a person, through the experience of spiritual parenting manifested in solidarity with groups and communities. In Wojtyla’s narrative, spiritual parenting is seen as a moral challenge. The idea of spiritual parenting depicted in the life and work of K. Wojtyla is a help in dialogue with the world. It can be a practical and real opening of the door to Christ, the liberation of the poorest and most spiritually lost brothers and sisters.

Sytuacja pandemiczna w Polsce, jak i na świecie, spowodowana przez SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), ma poważny wpływ na większość procesów społecznych, demograficznych i gospodarczych. Brak aktywności społecznej, w tym komunikacji interpersonalnej, uczestnictwa w życiu publicznym i zawodowym jest jedną z głównych przyczyn pogorszenia się stanu psychicznego i emocjonalnego ludzi w krajach dotkniętych zakażeniami. Zaistniała sytuacja może okazać się szczególnie dotkliwa dla osób zmagających się z uzależnieniami. W procesie powrotu do zdrowia niepijących alkoholików kluczowe znaczenie ma regularny kontakt z grupą i możliwość zwrócenia się o pomoc do każdego jej członka. Z powodu pandemii w całym kraju zawieszone do odwołania zostały spotkania Anonimowych Alkoholików, jak i innych grup terapeutycznych. Komunikacja wirtualna (za pośrednictwem technologii) w czasie pandemii wydaje się jedyną alternatywą dla tradycyjnej komunikacji „twarzą w twarz”, a internetowe grupy samopomocy stanowią jedyny wariant uczestniczenia. Powstają pytania: czy i w jakim stopniu grupa działająca w przestrzeni internetowej jest w stanie zrekompensować spotkania grup działających w realnej rzeczywistości. Badanie, którego wyniki są przedstawione w prezentowanym artykule, dotyczące funkcjonowania grup AA w czasie pandemii COVID-19 (w początkowych miesiącach), zostało zrealizowane metodą ilościową na próbie 225 osób.
The pandemic situation both in Poland and in the world, caused by SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19), has a serious impact on most social, demographic and economic processes. Lack of social activity, including interpersonal communication, participation in public and professional life is one of the main causes of mental and emotional state deterioration of people in countries affected by the virus infection. The situation may turn out to be particularly acute for people struggling with addictions. During the process of recovery of non-drinking alcoholics, the regular contact with a group and the ability to seek help from each member of a group are essential. Due to the pandemic meetings of Anonymous Alcoholics and other therapeutic groups have been suspended throughout the country until further notice. Virtual communication (using technology solutions) during a pandemic appears to be the only alternative to traditional face-to-face communication, and online self-help groups are the only option of participation. Questions arise: whether and to what extent a group operating online is able to compensate for meetings of groups operating in the real world. The study on the functioning of AA groups during the COVID-19 pandemic (or more precisely – in the first months of the pandemic) was carried out by using the quantitative method on a sample group of 225 respondents. The results are presented in the article below.

The article contains analysis of what conditions caused that credit unions (esp. Polish cooperative savings and credit unions – SKOK) coped with turbulences on financial markets. Credit unions in Poland as well as in other countries sustained crisis better then banks. The majority of credit unions in the world did not record significant problems. Moreover, they did not take part in the development of „subprime” economic markets. Then the question appeared: what characteristics caused that they were more resistant against turbulences. Conclusion seems to be, that the factors resisting credit unions for the crisis have the institutional and above cultural character.

Artykuł stanowi zarys działalności całego sektora opieki społecznej dla Żydów w Generalnym Gubernatorstwie, która była realizowana przez dwie centralne organizacje: American Joint Distribution Committee i Żydowską Samopomoc Społeczną (później pn. Jüdische Unterstützungstelle) oraz sieć lokalnych komitetów pomocy i wydziałów opieki społecznej rad żydowskich. Omówiono system organizacyjny żydowskiej opieki społecznej i jego zmiany w czasie, zarówno na poziomie centralnym, jak lokalnym. Wymienione zostały wszystkie źródła, z których instytucje opiekuńcze czerpały środki na swoją działalność, w tym dary zagranicznych organizacji humanitarnych, dotacje rządu GG i samorządów oraz rodzaje wewnętrznych podatków i obciążeń lokalnych społeczności żydowskich. W trzeciej części opisano kierunki działań opiekuńczych, takie jak rozdawnictwo żywności, odzieży, leków, opału, tworzenie kuchni ludowych, ambulatoriów, szpitali, świetlic dla dzieci, domów sierot itd. oraz specjalną pomoc dla przesiedleńców. Artykuł jest próbą wypełnienia luki w historiografii okresu okupacji niemieckiej w Polsce, w której brakuje monograficznych rozpraw dotyczących życia społecznego Żydów przed Zagładą. The article deals with the activities of the entire Jewish social welfare sector in the General Government, which was supervised by two central organisations: the American Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Social Self-Help Organisation (Jüdische Soziale Selbsthilfe, later renamed Jüdische Unterstützungstelle), as well as a network of local relief committees and social welfare departments in Jewish councils. First, the organisation of the Jewish social welfare system and its changes over time, both on the central and local level, have been discussed. Second, the sources from which welfare institutions derived their resources, including gifts of foreign humanitarian organisations, grants of the GG administration and local authorities, as well as internal taxes and charges levied on local communities, have been listed. The third section of the article describes the areas of welfare activities, such as distribution of food, clothing, medicines and fuel, establishment of soup kitchens (meal centres), first aid stations, hospitals, children dayrooms, orphanages etc. and special aid for the displaced. The article attempts to fill a gap in the historiography of Poland under the German occupation, as no monographs concerning the social life of the Jews prior to the Holocaust exist.

Społeczną gospodarkę rynkową pojmuje się najczęściej jako odpowiednik gospodarki socjalistycznej lub redystrybucyjnej polityki socjalnej. Bywa także błędnie definiowana jako synonim interwencjonizmu państwowego. Tymczasem koncepcja społecznej gospodarki rynkowej to koncepcja liberalna, mająca swoje źródło w przedwojennej teorii ordoliberalnej. Społeczna gospodarka rynkowa to model równowagi, w którym godzi się współistnienie interesów ekonomicznych i społecznych (efektywność gospodarcza versus sprawiedliwość społeczna). W pierwszej części tekstu przedstawiono istotę społecznej gospodarki rynkowej, m. in. w kontekście współczesnego kryzysu globalnego. W kolejnych częściach prezentowane są przejawy i przykłady wdrażania tej koncepcji w wymiarze lokalnym. Autor ilustruje te przejawy na przykładzie funkcjonowania fundacji „Barka”, wskazując zarazem na możliwe obszary działań samorządu terytorialnego na rzecz ożywienia idei społecznej gospodarki rynkowej zawartej w Konstytucji RP
The social market economy is generally conceived as a counterpart to the socialist economy or redistributive social policy. It is sometimes also erroneously defined as a synonym for state intervention. Meanwhile, the concept of the social market economy is a liberal concept which has its source in the pre-war ordoliberal theory. The social market economy is a model of balance, which reconciles the coexistence of economic and social interests (economic efficiency versus social justice). The first part presents the essence of the social market economy, among others, in the context of contemporary global crisis. The following sections present symptoms and examples of implementation of this concept at the local level. The author illustrates these symptoms on the example of the operations undertaken by "Barka" foundation, indicating possible areas of action of local government to revive the idea of the social market economy expressed in the Polish Constitution.

Własność to &lar, na którym opiera się konstrukcja systemu prawa cywilnego i z tego powodu niezmiernie istotne jest właściwe ukształtowanie ochrony tego prawa. Chociaż ochronę własności przewidują przepisy Konstytucji, w  zasadzie stanowią one jedynie punkt wyjścia dla regulacji zawartych w kodeksie cywilnym. Kodeksowa ochrona prawa własności realizowana jest poprzez: roszczenia windykacyjne, roszczenia negatoryjne, roszczenia uzupełniające, a także roszczenia posesoryjne i  pomoc własną. W  przypadku współwłasności możemy mieć do czynienia z roszczeniem podobnym do roszczenia windykacyjnego lub podobnym do roszczenia negatoryjnego. Zasady ochrony prawa własności na mocy szczególnych przepisów są wykorzystywane przy ochronie innych praw, przy czym chodzi o odpowiednie ich stosowanie i specyfikę uwzględniające specy&kę tych praw.
Ownership is the cornerstone of the civil law system. Consequently, it is of great importance that the property right is protected properly. Even though ownership protection is provided for in the Polish Constitution, the provisions contained there are only the starting point for the regulations set out in the Civil Code. Under the Civil Code, property rights are protected by way of: rei vindicatio (“vindicatio of property”), actio negatoria (“action to deny”), supplementary claims, as well as possessory claims and self-help. In case of joint ownership, we may deal with a claim similar to rei vindicatio or a claim similar to actio negatoria. !e principles of property right protection under specific regulations are used for the protection of other rights; what is important in such a case is that they are used in an adequate manner that takes account of the specific nature of those rights.

Niesienie pomocy człowiekowi potrzebującemu jest działaniem umożliwiającym dokonanie zmiany w jego życiu. Zmiany te mogą być niewielkie, albo też i bardzo znaczące, zawsze jednak powinny wspierać człowieka w przejmowaniu większej kontroli nad swoim życiem. Projekt „Adopcja Serca” jest programem przede wszystkim pomocy charytatywnej polegający na indywidualnym patronacie darczyńcy nad konkretnym, znanym z imienia i nazwiska dzieckiem. Głównym celem pomocy w ramach tego programu jest umożliwienie dziecku realizacji edukacji szkolnej. Ponadto ze środków programowych pokrywane są także wydatki na dożywianie i opiekę zdrowotną podopiecznych. W rezultacie podejmowane działania pomocowe mają doprowadzić podopiecznego do życiowej samodzielności.
Proper, valuable assistance is to assist human development. It is not a single act but the process on the different phases of human life. Helping a person in need is an act that allows making changes in his life. These changes may be small or very significant, but always should promote human beeings in taking greater control over their lives. The project "Adoption of Heart" is a program primarily charitable in which patronage relies on individual donors for a concrete and known by name child. The ultimate objective of this program is to allow the child to implement school education. In addition, the program funds are also to cover expenditure on feeding and health care charges. As a result, relief efforts undertaken should bring the child into the life of independence.

Dynamic changes in modern society generate new situations in the lives of believers, which require pastoral care. The Church should respond to the spiritual needs of all those in need, but with the decreasing number of ordained priests in Europe, organizational capacity in this part of the world is becoming increasingly limited. This article is an attempt to respond to the above problems and, using the example of the Catholic Church in Poland, shows the possibility of instilling a model of self-help groups for specialist pastoral care involving people experiencing life crises and wanting more intense religious development.

In her article the author discusses “success” – one of most important words defining the contemporary culture and people. She asks about the meaning of the word and compares its use in self-help books with the definition found in dictionaries of the Polish language. How is the contemporary “culture of success” created by those “new” meaning profiles? The first part of the analysis concerns the semantics of “success” in selected historical and modern dictionaries. K. Skowronek points out that the word has undergone the process of amelioration: from a neutral element to a positive one. The second part of the article is a narrative analysis. The author presents the semantics of the word in contemporary self-help books. She highlights its individualistic and self-disciplining character. Nowadays, success is synonymous with happiness and the meaning of life. It predominantly entails an obsessive chase while not necessarily a real achievement.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the generic direction into which the cozy mystery has been developing. Professionals and amateurs of different domains have started to adopt the medium of the traditional detective novel to propagate their expertise. Consequently, in addition to the criminal clue puzzle these ‘hybrid’ crime novels provide useful knowledge or even guidance.Psychotherapists and psychiatrists are among people professionally involved in the wide spectrum of problems haunting addicts and their codependent families. Although there are more and more self-help books on various addictions available on the market, their readership is limited to the unlucky ones who, in one way or another, have been drawn into the “Maelstrom”of alcoholism. Very few non-addicts can comprehend the closed world of alcoholics with all its peculiarities and irregularities. Elizabeth Zelvin, an experienced counsellor, has managed to present the heterotopia of alcoholics to a wider audience. Her cozy mystery Death Will Get You Sober intertwines the criminal investigation with the mundane lives of alcoholics struggling to adjust to the rules and regulations enforced in the detox institutions. 
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie jednego z kierunków rozwoju tradycyjnej powieści detektywistycznej. Zarówno amatorzy, jak i specjaliści z zakresu różnych dziedzin starają się zaadaptować formułę klasycznego kryminału dla propagowania swojej wiedzy. Rezultatem takich poczynań są powieści, które oprócz wciągnięcia czytelnika w fascynujący proces rozwiązywania zagadki kryminalnej, prezentują zagadnienia związane z pracą bądź zainteresowaniami autora.Półki księgarskie pełne są poradników przedstawiających metody pokonywania różnorakich problemów trapiących współczesne społeczeństwo, jednakże trafiają one do wąskiego grona odbiorców zainteresowanych konkretnym zagadnieniem. Doceniając ogromną popularność kryminałów, Elizabeth Zelvin, znana i ceniona specjalistka w dziedzinie terapii uzależnień, postanawia użyć formuły klasycznej powieści detektywistycznej w celu przybliżenia szerszemu gronu czytelników zasad pracy z osobami cierpiącymi na chorobę alkoholową. Szczegółowa prezentacja heterotopii (‘innych przestrzeni’), do których wstęp mają jedynie chorzy, współuzależnieni i terapeuci, zgrabnie wpleciona w intrygę kryminalną, czyni Death Will Get You Sober spektakularnym przykładem hybrydyzacji konwencji tradycyjnego kryminału.
