Opis:: The research explores the mental health help-seeking preferences of Chinese young overseas students (CYOS) as well as their perceived barriers and facilitators to seek help. Methods. Eight Chinese young overseas students who are currently studying in the US were interviewed, and a thematic analysis was undertaken on their responses. Conclusions. Five barriers and six facilitators were identified. Young overseas students considered perceiving the problems as not serious, negative attitude toward help seeking, being not willing to burden somebody else, lack of understanding of the process of mental health support, and issues of confidentiality and trust as the most important barriers to help seeking. Facilitators include positive attitudes towards help seeking, positive relationship with help providers, perceiving the problem as serious, easy access, confidentiality and trust, and previous habit of seeking help. Research restrictions. The samples are relatively homogeneous and could not represent all CYOS and thus lacked generalizability. Only interviews were applied for data collection, which has an impact on the credibility and trustworthiness of the research. Practical application. Strategies for improving help-seeking should focus on improving mental health literacy of these young people, their peers and parents, building positive relationships with help providers, and cultivating good help-seeking habits before they go abroad.

Opis:: Księga Sofoniasza rozpoczyna się dramatyczną wizją sądu Bożego wobec odstępstwa ludu wybranego, który ma się dokonać w Dzień Pański (So 1,2-18). Jednak końcowy fragment tego pierwszego proroctwa (So 2,1-3), zawiera mocne wezwanie do zmiany takiego postępowania, które prowadziło nieuchronnie do zagłady. Lud Boży winien zgromadzić się na nowo zanim nastąpi tragedia. Ci, którzy odpowiadają na wezwanie, prorok nazywa ubogimi Pana, jako ludzi zdolnych zachowywać Jego Prawo. Nawrócenie realizuje się w postawie szukania Pana, które konkretnie realizuje się w pełnieniu sprawiedliwości i życiu pokornym. Tylko w takiej postawie istnieje nadzieja na ocalenie w dniu Bożego sądu.
Book of Zephaniah starts with dramatic vision of trial of ordeal towards the chosen people deviation, which will take place on the Sabbath (Zep 1,2-18). However final fragment of this first prophecy (Zep 2,1-3) contains strong appeal for change the demeanor which inevitably leads to destruction. The People of God ought to gather newly before the tragedy occurs. Those who reply for appeal prophet calls Lord’s indigents, as people able to keep Lord’s Law. The repentance accomplish through attitude of searching of Lord, which achieves by fulfil justice and humble life. Only by this attitude there is a hope for salvage on Judgment Day/

Opis:: The article addresses some of the specific issues that concern reasoning by analogy in the context of precedential law. It specifically touches on such questions as the necessity of the mediation of a general rule (norm) in an analogical pattern of inference, ways of resolving conflicts between competing analogies, the process of searching for potential analogies as well as the reasons for applying judicial precedents in concrete instances by recourse to analogy. The latter is done against the background of the merits and demerits of the so-called rule-based model of judicial precedent and its core notion: ratio decidendi. All the aforementioned issues have been analysed from the perspective of two basic approaches to analogical reasoning in precedential law – i.e. the factual and rational model of legal analogy, which have been described in the previous article. The analyses take into account the stances and opinions of leading past and contemporary logicians, philosophers and legal theorists mainly, but not exclusively, from Anglo-Saxon countries.
W artykule zostały przedstawione bardziej szczegółowe – aniżeli same możliwe jego modele/ujęcia – zagadnienia, jakie wiążą się z rozumowaniem per analogiam w prawie precedensowym. Należą do nich w szczególności takie kwestie, jak: a) konieczność pośrednictwa we wnioskowaniu z podobieństwa generalno-abstrakcyjnej reguły (normy), b) zjawisko określane mianem „konkurencji” („współzawodnictwa”) analogii oraz c) propozycje dotyczące mierzenia siły (mocy) poszczególnych wniosków postawionych na podstawie rozumowania a simile. Ponadto został tu poruszony problem tego, w jaki sposób „poszukuje się” precedensów nadających się do zastosowania per analogiam w danym przypadku. Podjęta została również próba uzasadnienia, dlaczego prawo precedensowe warto stosować właśnie drogą analogii, a nie za pośrednictwem ogólnych (generalno-abstrakcyjnych) reguł występujących w tym prawie pod nazwą rationes decidendi – wraz z nakreśleniem wad i zalet każdej z tych dwóch opcji.
