Opis:
An optimally designed geodetic network is characterised by an appropriate level of precision and the lowest possible setup cost. Reliability, translating into the ability to detect blunders in the observations and higher certainty of the obtained point positions, is an important network characteristic. The principal way to provide appropriate network reliability is to acquire a suitably large number of redundant observations. This approach, however, faces limitations resulting from the extra cost. This paper analyses the possibility of providing appropriate reliability parameters for networks with moderate redundancy. A common problem in such cases are dependencies between observations preventing the acquisition of the required reliability index for each of the individual observation. The authors propose a methodology to analyse dependencies between observations aiming to determine the possibility of acquiring the optimal reliability indices for each individual observation or groups of observations. The suggested network structure analysis procedures were illustrated with numerical examples.

Opis:
For a shape optimization problem second derivatives are investigated, obtained by a special approach for the description of the boundary variation and the use of a potential ansatz for the state. The natural embedding of the problem in a Banach space allows the application of a standard differential calculus in order to get second derivatives by a straight forward "repetition of differentiation". Moreover, by using boundary value characerizations for more regular data, a complete boundary integral representation of the second derivative of the objective is possible. Basing on this, one easily obtains that the second derivative contains only normal components for stationary domains, i.e. for domains, satisfying the first order necessary condition for a free optimum. Moreover, the nature of the second derivative is discussed, which is helpful for the investigation of sufficient optimality conditions.

Opis:
The problem of linear feedback design for bilinear control systems guaranteeing their conditional closed-loop stability is considered. It is shown that this problem can be reduced to investigating the conditional stability of solutions of quadratic systems of differential equations depending on parameters of the control law. Sufficient conditions for stability in the cone of a homogeneous quadratic system are obtained. For second-order systems, invariant conditions of conditional asymptotic stability are found.
